Fermion and scalar phenomenology of a 2-Higgs doublet model with $S_3$

We propose a 2-Higgs doublet model where the symmetry is extended by $S_{3}\otimes Z_{3}\otimes Z_{3}^{\prime }\otimes Z_{14}$ and the field content is enlarged by extra $SU(2)_{L}$ singlet scalar fields. $S_3$ makes the model predictive and leads to viable fermion masses and mixing. The observed hierarchy of the quark masses arises from the $Z_{3}^{\prime }$ and $Z_{14}$ symmetries. The light neutrino masses are generated through a type I seesaw mechanism with two heavy Majorana neutrinos. In the lepton sector we obtain mixing angles that are nearly tri-bi-maximal, in an excellent agreement with the observed lepton parameters. The vacuum expectation values required for the model are naturally obtained from the scalar potential, and we analyze the scalar sector properties further constraining the model through the $γγ$ decay channel and the $T$ and $S$ parameters.

Leptoquark patterns unifying neutrino masses, flavor anomalies, and the diphoton excess

Vector leptoquarks provide an elegant solution to a series of anomalies and at the same time generate naturally light neutrino masses through their mixing with the standard model Higgs boson. We present a simple Froggatt-Nielsen model to accommodate the B physics anomalies $R_K$ and $R_D$, neutrino masses, and the $750$ GeV diphoton excess in one cohesive framework adding only two vector leptoquarks and two singlet scalar fields to the standard model field content.

The $750\,\text{GeV}$ diphoton resonance in the light of a 2HDM with $S_3$ flavour symmetry

Very recently we proposed a predictive 2 Higgs Doublet Model with $S_{3}$ flavour symmetry that successfully accounts for fermion masses and mixings. In this letter, motivated by the $750$ GeV Higgs diphoton resonance recently reported by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations, we modify this model by adding exotic top partners with electric charge $\frac{5}{3}$ and a electrically charged scalar singlet. These exotic top partners decay into a charged scalar singlet and the SM up type quarks, whereas the charged scalar singlet will mainly decay into SM up and down type quarks. This simple modification enables our model to successfully account for the Higgs diphoton excess at $750\,\text{GeV}$ provided that the exotic quark masses are in the range $[1,2]$ TeV, for $O(1)$ exotic quark Yukawa couplings.
