What The $K_{E4}$ Decay Tells Us On A Value Of $Σ$-Particle Mass And On A Nature Of The Spin-1 Mesons

The data on the form factors of the $K_{e4}$ decay permit to fix a value of the non-specified in the theory parameter entering in the lagrangian of the system of $0^+$ and $0^-$ mesons . Then, for a mass of the lightest $σ$-meson we find: $m_σ$=663 MeV. As for a nature of the spin-1 mesons, also contributing into $K_{e4}$ form factors, the data do not allow to interpret them as the gauge bosons of the chiral theory.

The T2K Side Muon Range Detector

The T2K experiment is a long baseline neutrino oscillation experiment aiming to observe the appearance of ν e in a νμ beam. The νμ beam is produced at the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC), observed with the 295 km distant Super- Kamiokande Detector and monitored by a suite of near detectors at 280m from the proton target. The near detectors include a magnetized off-axis detector (ND280) which measures the un-oscillated neutrino flux and neutrino cross sections. The present paper describes the outermost component of ND280 which is a side muon range detector (SMRD) composed of scintillation counters with embedded wavelength shifting fibers and Multi-Pixel Photon Counter read-out. The components, performance and response of the SMRD are presented.

On the Role of FSI in K -> 2πDecay

Contrary to wide-spread opinion that the final state interaction (FSI) enlarges the amplitude $<2π;I=0|K^0>$, we argue that FSI is not able to increase the absolute value of this amplitude.

On CP-Odd Effects in K_L \to 2πand K^{\pm} \to π^{\pm} π^{\pm} π^{\mp} Decays Generated by Direct CP Violation

The amplitudes of the K^{\pm} \to 3πand K \to 2πdecays are expressed in terms of different combinations of one and the same set of CP-conserving and CP-odd parameters. Extracting the magnitudes of these parameters from the data on K \to 2πdecays, we estimate an expected CP-odd difference between the values of the slope parameters g^+ and g^- of the energy distributions of "odd" pions in K^+ \to π^+π^+π^- and K^- \to π^-π^-π^+ decays.
