Algebras of Lebesgue and KB regular operators in Banach lattices

It is shown that the regularly Lebesgue and regularly (quasi) KB operators in a Banach lattice E form operator algebras and, for Dedekind complete E, even Banach lattice algebras. We also prove that a Banach lattice E with order continuous norm is a KB-space iff each positive compact operator in E is a KB operator.

Generalizations of L- and M-weakly compact operators

L- and M-weakly compact operators were introduced by Meyer-Nieberg in the beginning of seventies in attempts of a diversification of the concept of weakly compact operators via imposing Banach lattice structure on the range or on the domain of operators. We investigate regularity and algebraic properties of various generalizations of L- and M-weakly compact operators from a unified point of view via using regularly P-operators.

Enveloping norms on the spaces of regularly P-operators in Banach lattices

We introduce and study the enveloping norms of regularly P-operators between Banach lattices E and F, where P is a subspace of the space L(E,F) of continuous operators from E to F. We prove that if P is closed in L(E,F) in the operator norm then the regularly P-operators forms a Banach space under the enveloping norm. Conditions providing that regularly P-operators forms a Banach lattice under the enveloping norm are given.

Regularly limited, Grothendieck, and Dunford--Pettis operators

We introduce and study the enveloping norms of regularly P-operators, where P is an "almost" version of limited, Grothendieck, and of Dunford--Pettis operators in Banach lattices. Several further topics related to these operators are also discussed.

Operators Affiliated to Banach Lattice Properties and the Enveloping Norms

Several recent papers were devoted to various modifications of limited, Grothendieck, and Dunford--Pettis operators, etc., through involving the Banach lattice structure. In the present paper, it is shown that many of these operators appear as operators affiliated to well known properties of Banach lattices, like the disjoint (dual) Schur property, the disjoint Grothendieck property, the property (d), and the sequential w*-continuity of the lattice operations. It is proved that the spaces consisting of regularly versions of the above operators are all Banach spaces. The domination problem for such operators is investigated.

The $oτ$-continuous, Lebesgue, KB, and Levi operators between vector lattices and topological vector spaces

We investigate the $oτ$-continuous/bounded/compact and Lebesgue operators from vector lattices to topological vector spaces; the KB operators between locally solid lattices and topological vector spaces; and the Levi operators from locally solid lattices to vector lattices. The main idea of operator versions of notions related to vector lattices lies in redistributing topological and order properties of a topological vector lattice between the domain and range of an operator under investigation. Domination properties for these classes of operators are studied.

Multiplicative order continuous operators on Riesz algebras

In this paper, we investigate operators on Riesz algebras, which are continuous with respect to multiplicative modifications of order convergence and relatively uniform convergence. We also introduce and study mo-Lebesgue, mo-$KB$, and mo-Levi operators.

Full Lattice Convergence on Riesz Spaces

The full lattice convergence on a locally solid Riesz space is an abstraction of the topological, order, and relatively uniform convergences. We investigate four modifications of a full convergence $\mathbb{c}$ on a Riesz space. The first one produces a sequential convergence $\mathbb{sc}$. The second makes an absolute $\mathbb{c}$-convergence and generalizes the absolute weak convergence. The third modification makes an unbounded $\mathbb{c}$-convergence and generalizes various unbounded convergences recently studied in the literature. The last one is applicable whenever $\mathbb{c}$ is a full convergence on a commutative $l$-algebra and produces the multiplicative modification $\mathbb{mc}$ of $\mathbb{c}$. We study general properties of full lattice convergence with emphasis on universally complete Riesz spaces and on Archimedean $f$-algebras. The technique and results in this paper unify and extend those which were developed and obtained in recent literature on unbounded convergences.

Bibounded uo-convergence and b-property in vector lattices

We define bidual bounded $uo$-convergence in vector lattices and investigate relations between this convergence and $b$-property. We prove that for a regular Riesz dual system $\langle X,X^{\sim}\rangle$, $X$ has $b$-property if and only if the order convergence in $X$ agrees with the order convergence in $X^{\sim\sim}$.

Internal characterization of Brezis -- Lieb spaces

In order to find an extension of Brezis -- Lieb's lemma to the case of nets, we replace the almost everywhere convergence by the unbounded order convergence and introduce the Brezis -- Lieb property in normed lattices. Then we identify a wide class of Banach lattices in which the Brezis -- Lieb lemma holds true. Among other things, it gives an extension of the Brezis -- Lieb lemma for nets in $L^p$ for $p\in [1,\infty)$.

Experimental study of an advanced concept of moderate-resolution holographic spectrographs

We present the results of an experimental study of an advanced moderate-resolution spectrograph based on a cascade of narrow-band holographic gratings. The main goal of the project is to achieve a moderately high spectral resolutionwith R up to 5000 simultaneously in the 4300-6800 A visible spectral range on a single standard CCD, together with an increased throughput. The experimental study consisted of (1) resolution and image quality tests performed using the solar spectrum; and (2) a total throughput test performed for a number of wavelengths using a calibrated lab monochromator. The measured spectral resolving power reaches values over R>4000 while the experimental throughput is as high as 55%, which is in good agreement with the modeling results. Comparing the obtained characteristics of the spectrograph under consideration with the best existing spectrographs, we conclude that the used concept can be considered a very competitive and cheap alternative to the existing spectrographs of the given class. We propose several astrophysical applications for the instrument and discuss the prospect of creating its full-scale version.

Note on Archimedean property in ordered vector spaces

It is shown that an ordered vector space $X$ is Archimedean if and only if $\inf\limits_{τ\in\{τ\}, y\in L}(x_τ-y) \ = 0$ for any bounded decreasing net $x_τ\downarrow$ in $X$, where $L$ is the collection of all lower bounds of $\{x_τ\}_τ$. We give also a characterization of the almost Archimedean property of $X$ in terms of existence of a linear extension of an additive mapping $T:Y_+\to X_+$ of the positive cone $Y_+$ of an ordered vector space $Y$ into $X_+$.
