Coordinate effect: Vaidya solutions without integrating the field equations

We extend Vaidya's algorithm for the description of a central mass losing or gaining energy due to electromagnetic-type radiation (`null dust') to the case of arbitrary radial corpuscular radiation. We also demonstrate the remarkable possibility of purely algebraic deduction of the Vaidya solution without integrating the field equations, and interpret this possibility as an artifact of curvature coordinates. Since Vaidya's approach by itself cannot lead to certain dependence of mass on spacetime coordinates, the search for a corresponding mass-function represents an independent issue. In this regard, as a perspective, we discuss an outlook on the problem of variable masses as a whole.

The scalarized Raychaudhuri identity and its applications

We show that the covariant Raychaudhuri identity describing kinematic characteristics of space-time admits a representation involving a geometrical scalar $ξ$ which, depending on circumstances, might be related to, e.g., relativistic temperature or cosmological scalar field. With an appropriately chosen spacetime deformation tensor (fixing the symmetry of a problem under consideration), such scalarization opens a wide scope for physical applications. We consider few such applications including dynamics of cosmological (anti)scalar background, non-variational deduction of the field equations, scalar and black-hole thermodynamics and the reshaping of the Einstein equations into the Klein-Gordon equation in thermodynamic Killing space.

Unified geometrical basis for the generalized Ehlers identities and Raychaudhuri equations

It is shown that the timelike, spacelike and null versions of the Ehlers identity, as well as ensuing Raychaudhuri equations, might be all derived within a single geometrical approach based on the definition of the Riemann curvature tensor specified with respect to the corresponding congruence. Still, spacelike and null cases have a number of non-trivial peculiarities deserving special attention.

On possible tachyonic state of neutrino dark matter

We revive the historically first dark matter model based on neutrinos, but with an additional assumption that neutrinos might exist in tachyonic almost sterile states. To this end, we propose a group-theoretical algorithm for the description of tachyons. The key point is that we employ a distinct tachyon Lorentz group with new (superluminal) parametrization which does not lead to violation of causality and unitarity. Our dark matter model represents effectively scalar tachyonic neutrino-antineutrino conglomerate. Distributed all over the universe, such fluid behaves as stable isothermal/stiff medium which produces somewhat denser regions (`halos') around galaxies and clusters. To avoid the central singularity inherent to the isothermal profile, we apply a special smoothing algorithm which yields density distributions and rotation curves consistent with observational data.

Tachyonic approach to neutrino dark matter

We apply a new approach based on three relativistic groups (bradyon, tachyon and instanton) forming the `Lorentz groupoid' which allows, in particular, to consider tachyons without introducing imaginary masses and negative energies (related, as known, to violation of causality and unitarity). This leads to effectively scalar conglomerate composed of tachyonic neutrino and antineutrino spinor wave functions as a viable model for stationary dark matter. We also briefly discuss a relevant early non-stationary high-energy stage of the universe evolution.

Fundamental scalar fields and the dark side of the universe

Starting with geometrical premises, we infer the existence of fundamental cosmological scalar fields. We then consider physically relevant situations in which spacetime metric is induced by one or, in general, by two scalar fields, in accord with the Papapetrou algorithm. The first of these fields, identified with dark energy, has exceedingly small but finite (subquantum) Hubble mass scale (~ 10^-33 eV), and might be represented as a neutral superposition of quasi-static electric fields. The second field is identified with dark matter as an effectively scalar conglomerate composed of primordial neutrinos and antineutrinos in a special tachyonic state.

Antiscalar cosmological background

It is shown that the antiscalar approach to dark energy, whereby the energy-momentum tensor of the scalar field has the sign opposite to that of the rest of the matter, follows from the considerations of thermodynamic stability, as well as from the static limit of the Einstein-Maxwell equations. The same limit also demonstrates that the resulting background antiscalar field proves to be of quasi-electrostatic origin.
