The ridge effect and three-particle correlations

Pseudorapidity and azimuthal three-particle correlations are studied based on a correlated-cluster model of multiparticle production. The model provides a common framework for correlations in proton-proton and heavy-ion collisions allowing easy comparison with the measurements. It is shown that azimuthal cluster correlations are definitely required in order to understand three-particle correlations in the near-side ridge effect. This is similar to the explanation of the ridge phenomenon found in our previous analysis of two-particle correlations and generalizes the model to higher-order correlations.

A correlated-cluster model and the ridge phenomenon in hadron-hadron collisions

A study of the near-side ridge phenomenon in hadron-hadron collisions based on a cluster picture of multiparticle production is presented. The near-side ridge effect is shown to have a natural explanation in this context provided that clusters are produced in a correlated manner in the collision transverse plane.

Size of Shell Universe in Light of Fermi GBM Transient Associated with GW150914

The possible gamma ray burst occurred in location and temporal consistence with gravitational wave event GW150914, as reported by Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM), offers a new way of constraining models with extra dimensions. Using the time delay in arrival of the gamma ray transient observed by Fermi GBM relative to the gravitational waves event triggered by the LIGO detectors we investigate the size of the spherical brane-universe expanding in multi-dimensional space-time. It is shown that a joint observation of gravitational waves in association with gamma ray burst can provide a very stringent bound on the spatial curvature of the brain.

Searching for hidden sectors in multiparticle production at the LHC

Most signatures of new physics in colliders have been studied so far on the transverse plane with respect to the beam direction. In this work however we study the impact of a hidden sector beyond the Standard Model (SM) on inclusive (pseudo)rapidity correlations and moments of the multiplicity distributions, with special emphasis in the LHC results.
