A class of nonassociative algebras including flexible and alternative algebras, operads and deformations

There exists two types of nonassociative algebras whose associator satisfies a symmetric relation associated with a 1-dimensional invariant vector space with respect to the natural action of the symmetric group on three elements. The first one corresponds to the Lie-admissible algebras that we studied in a previous paper. Here we are interested by the second one corresponding to the third power associative algebras.

n-Lie algebras

The notion of $n$-ary algebras, that is vector spaces with a multiplication concerning $n$-arguments, $n \geq 3$, became fundamental since the works of Nambu. Here we first present general notions concerning $n$-ary algebras and associative $n$-ary algebras. Then we will be interested in the notion of $n$-Lie algebras, initiated by Filippov, and which is attached to the Nambu algebras. We study the particular case of nilpotent or filiform $n$-Lie algebras to obtain a beginning of classification. This notion of $n$-Lie algebra admits a natural generalization in Strong Homotopy $n$-Lie algebras in which the Maurer Cartan calculus is well adapted.

The n-ary algebra of tensors and of cubic and hypercubic matrices

We define a ternary product and more generally a (2k+1)-ary product on the vector space T^p_q(E) of tensors of type (p, q) that is contravariant of order p, covariant of order q and total order (p+q). This product is totally associative up to a permutation s_k of order k (we call this property a s_k-totally associativity). When p=2 and q=1, we obtain a (2k+1)-ary product on the space of bilinear maps on E with values on E, which is identified to the cubic matrices. Then we obtain a (2k+1)-ary product on the space of cubic matrices. If we call a l-matrix a square tableau with lx...xl entrances (if l=3 we have the cubic matrices and we speak about hypercubic matrices as soon as l >3), then the (2k+1)-ary product on T^p_q(E) gives a (2k+1)-product on the space of (p+q)-matrices. We describe also all these products which are s_k-totally associative. We compute the corresponding quadratic operads and their dual.

On the NonKoszulity of (2p+1)-ary partially associative Operads

We present a study of quadratic operads for n-ary algebras and their dual for n odd. We will focus on the ternary case (i.e n=3). The aim is to underline the problem of computing the dual operad and the fact that this last is in general defined in the graded differential operad framework. We prove that the operad associated to 3-ary partially associative algebra is not Koszul. Recall that, if n is even, the operad of n-ary partially associative algebras is Koszul.

n-ary associative algebras, cohomology, free algebras and coalgebras

When $n$ is odd, a cohomology of type Hochschild for $n$-ary partially associative algebras has been defined in Gnedbaye's thesis. Unfortunately, the cohomology definition is not valid when $n$ is even. This fact is found again in the computations of the $n$-ary partially associative free algebra. In this work, we define in a first time two approachs of an Hochschild cohomology for $n$-ary partially associative algebras. First by reducing the space of cochains, secondly by using a graded version. Next we compute the free $n$-ary algebra, giving a basis of this algebra. At last we extend the notion of coalgebras to $n$-ary algebras.

Complex structures on quasi-filiform nilpotent Lie algebras

We present the classification of real nilpotent quasi-filiform Lie algebras endowed with a complex structure. A nilpotent Lie algebra g is called quasi-filiform is the nilindex is equal to dim(n)-2. We recall that the filiform case (nilindex =dim(g)-1) has already been studied.

Non-associative algebras associated to Poisson algebras

Poisson algebra is usually defined to be a commutative algebra together with a Lie bracket, and these operations are required to satisfy the Leibniz rule. We describe Poisson structures in terms of a single bilinear operation. This enables us to explore Poisson algebras in the realm of non-associative algebras. We study their algebraic and cohomological properties, their deformations as non-associative algebras, and give a classification in low dimensions

On the algebras obtained by tensor product

Let P be a quadratic operad. We determine an associated operad ~P such that for any P-algebra A and any ~P-algebra B then the tensor product $A \otimes B$ is a P-algebra.

Rigid current Lie algebras

A current Lie algebra is contructed from a tensor product of a Lie algebra and a commutative associative algebra of dimension greater than 2. In this work we are interested in deformations of such algebras and in the problem of rigidity. In particular we prove that a current Lie algebra is rigid if it is isomorphic to a direct product gxg...xg where g is a rigid Lie algebra.

On Riemannian non symmetric spaces and flag manifolds

In this work we study riemannian metrics on flag manifolds adapted to the symmetries of these homogeneous nonsymmetric spaces. We first introduce the notion of riemannian $Γ$-symmetric space when $Γ$ is a general abelian finite group, the symmetric case corresponding to $Γ=\Z_2$. We describe and study all the riemannian metrics on $SO(2n+1)/SO(r_1)\times SO(r_2)\times SO(r_3)\times SO(2n+1-r_1-r_2-r_3)$ for which the symmetries are isometries. We consider also the lorentzian case and give an example of a lorentzian homogeneous space which is not a symmetric space.

Cogebres Lie-admissibles - Lie-admissible coalgebras

We present coalgebras of some classes of nonassociative algebras whose associator satisfies invariance conditions given by the action of the 3-order symmetric group. Amongst these algebras we find the well-known Vinberg algebras, the Pre-Lie algebras, the Lie-admissible algebras and the 3-power associative algebras. We study properties between these coalgebras and algebras which generalize the associative case.

Algebras with one operation including Poisson and other Lie-admissible algebras

We investigate algebras with one operation. We study when these algebras form a monoidal category and analyze Koszulness and cyclicity of the corresponding operads. We also introduce a new kind of symmetry for operads, the dihedrality, responsible for the existence of the dihedral cohomology. The main trick, which we call the polarization, will be to represent an algebra with one operation without any specific symmetry as an algebra with one commutative and one anticommutative operation. We will try to convince the reader that this change of perspective might sometimes lead to new insights and results. This point of view was used by Livernet and Loday to introduce a one-parametric family of operads whose specialization at 0 is the operad for Poisson algebras, while at a generic point it equals the operad for associative algebras. We study this family and explain how it can be used to interpret the deformation quantization in a neat and elegant way.

Affine structures on nilpotent contact Lie algebras

In this paper we study some affine structures on nilpotent Lie algebras endowed with a contact form. These affine structures are constructed from an affine structure on a symplectic Lie algebra by a central extension.

Affine Structures on abelian Lie Groups

The complete affine structures on abelian Lie algebras in small dimensions are well known. In this paper we are interested by the non complete case. In particular we classify all these structures in dimensions 2 and 3.

Valued Deformations of Algebras

We develop the notion of deformations using a valuation ring as ring of coefficients. This permits to consider in particular the classical Gerstenhaber deformations of associative or Lie algebras as infinitesimal deformations and to solve the equation of deformations in a polynomial frame. We consider also the deformations of the enveloping algebra of a rigid Lie algebra and we define valued deformations for some classes of non associative algebras.
