On twisted period functions and Moments of a weighted mean square of Dirichlet L-functions on the critical line

We extend to Dirichlet L-functions associated with arbitrary primitive characters a range of objects and properties -- including Eisenstein series and period functions -- that were originally introduced and studied by Lewis and Zagier (2001), and later by Bettin and Conrey (2013) in the case of the Riemann zeta function, and more recently by Lewis and Zagier (2019) for odd real characters. These tools yield closed-form expressions for the moments of a measure defined via a weighted mean square of the L-function. These moments not only provide a complete characterization of the modulus of the L-function on the critical line, but also imply an infinite number of non-trivial positivity conditions valid for all primitive characters, real or not. The methods also involve a general form of an asymptotic formula based on the shifted Euler--Maclaurin summation formula, which may be of independent interest.

Alg{\`e}bres diff{\'e}rentielles de formes quasi-Jacobi d'indice nul

The notion of double depth associated with quasi-Jacobi forms allows distinguishing,within the algebra of quasi-Jacobi singular forms of index zero, certain significant subalgebras (modular-type forms, elliptic-type forms, Jacobi forms). We study the stability of these subalgebras under the derivations of the algebra of quasi-Jacobi singular forms of index zero and through certain sequences of bidifferential operators constituting analogs of Rankin-Cohen brackets or transvectants.

Formal deformations of the algebra of Jacobi forms and Rankin-Cohen brackets

This work is devoted to the algebraic and arithmetic properties of Rankin-Cohen brackets allowing to define and study them in several natural situations of number theory. It focuses on the property of these brackets to be formal deformations of the algebras on which they are defined, with related questions on restriction-extension methods. The general algebraic results developed here are applied to the study of formal deformations of the algebra of weak Jacobi forms and their relation with the Rankin-Cohen brackets on modular and quasimodular forms.

Kloosterman paths of prime powers moduli, II

G. Ricotta and E. Royer (2018) have recently proved that the polygonal paths joining the partial sums of the normalized classical Kloosterman sums $S(a,b;p^n)/p^(n/2) converge in law in the Banach space of complex-valued continuous function on [0,1] to an explicit random Fourier series as (a,b) varies over (Z/p^nZ)^\times\times(Z/p^nZ)^\times, p tends to infinity among the odd prime numbers and n>=2 is a fixed integer. This is the analogue of the result obtained by E. Kowalski and W. Sawin (2016) in the prime moduli case. The purpose of this work is to prove a convergence law in this Banach space as only a varies over (Z/p^nZ)^\times, p tends to infinity among the odd prime numbers and n>=31 is a fixed integer.

Emmanuel Kowalski and William Sawin proved, using a deep independence result of Kloosterman sheaves, that the polygonal paths joining the partial sums of the normalized classical Kloosterman sums S(a,b0;p)/p^{1/2} converge in the sense of finite distributions to a specific random Fourier series, as a varies over (Z/pZ)^*, b0 is fixed in (Z/pz)* and p tends to infinity among the odd prime numbers. This article considers the case of S(a,b0;p^n)/p^{n/2}, as a varies over (Z/p^nZ)^*, b0 is fixed in (Z/p^nZ)^*, p tends to infinity among the odd prime numbers and n>=2 is a fixed integer. A convergence in law in the Banach space of complex-valued continuous function on [0,1] is also established, as (a,b) varies over (Z/p^nZ)*.(Z/p^nZ)*, p tends to infinity among the odd prime numbers and n>=2 is a fixed integer. This is the analogue of the result obtained by Emmanuel Kowalski and William Sawin in the prime moduli case.

The amplification method in the GL(3) Hecke algebra

This article contains all of the technical ingredients required to implement an effective, explicit and unconditional amplifier in the context of GL(3) automorphic forms. In particular, several coset decomposition computations in the GL(3) Hecke algebra are explicitly done.

Poisson structures and star products on quasimodular forms

We construct and classify all Poisson structures on quasimodular forms that extend the one coming from the first Rankin-Cohen bracket on the modular forms. We use them to build formal deformations on the algebra of quasimodular forms.

Spiegelungssatz: a combinatorial proof for the 4-rank

The Spiegelungssatz is an inequality between the (4)-ranks of the narrow ideal class groups of the quadratic fields (\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{D})) and (\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{-D})). We provide a combinatorial proof of this inequality. Our interpretation gives an affine system of equations that allows to describe precisely some equality cases.

Lower order terms for the one-level densities of symmetric power $L$-functions in the level aspect

In a previous paper, the authors determined, among other things, the main terms for the one-level densities for low-lying zeros of symmetric power L-functions in the level aspect. In this paper, the lower order terms of these one-level densities are found. The combinatorial difficulties, which should arise in such context, are drastically reduced thanks to Chebyshev polynomials, which are the characters of the irreducible representations of SU(2). %

Rankin-Cohen brackets on quasimodular forms

We give the algebra of quasimodular forms a collection of Rankin-Cohen operators. These operators extend those defined by Cohen on modular forms and, as for modular forms, the first of them provide a Lie structure on quasimodular forms. They also satisfy a ``Leibniz rule'' for the usual derivation. Rankin-Cohen operators are useful for proving arithmetic identities. In particular we give an interpretation of the Chazy equation and explain why such an equation has to exist.
