Gamma Ray Burst as Sources of Exotic Particles

We consider the possible production of stable lightest first level KK particle (LKP) in baryonic gamma ray bursts (GRB) out flows. We numerically computed the energy-dependent cross-sections of Kaluza-Klein (KK) excitations for the Standard Model gauge bosons, photon and Z. Next, we determined the feasibility of producing these KK excitations in gamma-ray emitting regions of GRBs. We found that a GRB fireball that accelerates baryons to energies greater than 10^14 eV could produce KK excitations out to approximately 10^12 cm from the central engine, indicating that GRBs may be a significant source of the LKP. Finally, we explore the potential observational consequences of our results.

Fermions in Randall-Sundrum Models with Two Additional Unwarped Extra Dimensions

Models with one warped and two unwarped extra dimensions allow for the solution of a number of open questions in particle physics. They can be used to solve the hierarchy problem in the same sense as Randall-Sundrum extra dimensions, they incorporate the Randall-Sundrum approach to flavor, and they generate a dark matter candidate via Kaluza-Klein parity in the flat extra dimensions. In this paper, we examine the models AdS_5 x T_2 and AdS_5 x S_2, deriving the Kaluza-Klein spectrum for fermions propagating in the bulk. While the toroidal model allows for a chiral zero mode, we find that the positive curvature of the spherical model disallows all zero modes without further modifications.

Heavy Charged Leptons in 6-dimensional Randall-Sundrum Model

We consider the effects of adding a fourth generation to a model with two compactified extra dimensions -- one warped and the other flat. The extra dimensions lead to towers of Kaluza-Klein (KK) Z bosons. Interestingly, the higher KK-Z modes depending on the flat dimension contribute more than the warped dimension. These KK-Z modes enhance the cross-section of fourth generation charged leptons . The most promising signature is the heavy charged lepton decaying to a heavy neutrino and W boson.

Fourth Generation t-prime in Extensions of the Standard Model

We study the effects of a fourth generation t-prime quark in various extensions of the standard model. In the Randall-Sundrum model, the decay t-prime -> t Z has a large branching ratio that could be detected at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We also look at the two-Higgs doublet models I, II and III, and note that, in the latter, the branching ratio of t-prime -> t H, where H is a Higgs scalar or pseudoscalar, is huge and we discuss detection at the LHC.

The Fourth Generation t-prime in Extensions of the Standard Model

We study the effects of a fourth generation t' quark in various extensions of the standard model. In the Randall-Sundrum model, the decay t'--> t Z has a large branching ratio that could be detected at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We also look at the two-Higgs doublet models I, II and III, and note that, in the latter, the branching ratio of t' --> t H, where H is a Higgs scalar or pseudoscalar, is huge and we discuss detection at the LHC. A few comments about the minimal supersymmetric standard model are also included.

Production of Single Heavy Charged Leptons at a Linear Collider

A sequential fourth generation of quarks and leptons is allowed by precision electroweak constraints if the mass splitting between the heavy quarks is between 50 and 80 GeV. Although heavy quarks can be easily detected at the LHC, it is very difficult to detect a sequential heavy charged lepton, L, due to large backgrounds. Should the L mass be above 250 GeV, it can not be pair-produced at a 500 GeV ILC. We calculate the cross section for the one-loop process e+e- -> L tau. Although the cross section is small, it may be detectable. We also consider contributions from the two Higgs doublet model and the Randall-Sundrum model, in which case the cross section can be substantially higher.

Single Production of Heavy Charged Leptons at the ILC

This paper has been withdrawn by the authors due to a coding error and a missed diagram. The calculation has been completely redone, with very different results, and with an additional author, and will be submitted to the arxiv shortly.

Top Pair Production in Randall-Sundrum Models

If the lowest lying Kaluza-Klein states in Randall-Sundrum (RS1) models have masses in the 10-100 TeV range, direct production of these states at the LHC or ILC is impossible, and electroweak precision measurements may not be sufficiently sensitive. We address the possibility that high-precision measurements of top pair production at the ILC may provide the first evidence of these states. We consider RS1 models with fermions on and off the brane, with bulk left and right handed mass terms, discuss brane kinetic terms and calculate corrections to top pair production in these models.

Kaluza-Klein Mesons in Universal Extra Dimensions

In models with universal extra dimensions, the isosinglet Kaluza-Klein (KK) quarks, q^1, have very narrow widths, of O(5-10) MeV, and will thus hadronize. Studies of KK-quarkonia, \bar{q}^1 q^1, show very sharp resonances and dramatic signatures at the Linear Collider. In this Brief Report, we consider the possibility of detecting KK-mesons, \bar{q}^1 q, and show that detection at a Linear Collider is unlikely.
