Product-profile anti-concentration for block-structured multi-affine polynomials

We establish product-profile anti-concentration, density, and Remez estimates for multi-affine polynomials on the cube. Let $X$ be uniformly distributed on $[0,1]^n$, and let $P:[0,1]^n\to\R$ be a nonconstant multi-affine polynomial of exact degree $d$, with all variables active. For a partition $\cB$ of the variables such that no monomial contains two variables from the same block, define $$ w_d(\cB) = \sum_{\cI\subseteq\cB, \abs{\cI} = d-1} \left(\prod_{B\in\cI}\sqrt{\abs B}\right) \sqrt{\sum_{C\in\cB\setminus\cI}\abs C}. $$ We prove the all-center small-ball estimate $$ \sup_{u\in\R} \Prob\{\abs{P(X)-u}\leρ\} \le Φ_d\left( C_dw_d(\cB)\fracρ{\osc(P)} \right), $$ where $\osc(P)$ is the length of the range of $P$ and $Φ_d(t) = t\sum_{j = 0}^{d-1}\log^j(1/t)/j!$ on $(0,1]$, capped at one. Every multi-affine polynomial admits the singleton partition, which yields the universal scale $n^{d-1/2}$; an admissible partition into at most $q$ blocks yields the improved scale $q^{(d-1)/2}n^{d/2}$. If $\cB$ has exactly $d$ blocks, then $$ w_d(\cB) = d\prod_{B\in\cB}\sqrt{\abs B}, $$ and products of centered block averages show that both the small-ball profile and the dependence on the full block-size vector are optimal, up to constants depending only on $d$. We also prove that $P(X)$ has a density $f_P$ satisfying $$ \norm{f_P}_{L^p(\R)} \le C_dp^{d-1} \left( \frac{w_d(\cB)}{\osc(P)} \right)^{1-1/p}, \quad 1<p<\infty, $$ with matching $p$- and block-scale growth for $p\ge2$ on the block-product models. As an application, we derive translation-invariant quotient Remez inequalities with the same structural scale. The proof combines weighted block selection, affine cube slicing, degree-lowering contractions, and the exact recursion underlying the product profile.

Invariant sets of the double Hilbert transform

We present an example that shows that the double Hilbert transform $\H$ can have the characteristic function of an open set of finite measure in $\mathbb{R} \times \mathbb{R}$ as an approximate eigenvector for the eigenvalue $1$. The same holds for the dyadic model of $\H$, the double dyadic shift. We further construct non-diagonal sets whose indicators are fixed by $\H$ -- strips bent along the Boole curve $x=y-1/y$ and, more generally, along level curves of real Herglotz functions with purely singular measures -- and study the class of invariant sets which they generate. At positive density we construct an example built on three families of parallel lines, related to the carry cocycle $\{u\}+\{v\}-\{u+v\}$, and the fans -- alternate sectors of an odd number of concurrent lines -- which are the simplest members of the invariant cones, a class that we describe completely. We then study the classification of the invariant sets whose boundary lies on countably many lines. Its combinatorial half is settled completely: a locally finite arrangement of lines in which no point lies on exactly two lines is a family of parallel lines, a pencil of concurrent lines, or an affine image of the triangular lattice. The classification is further connected, via projective duality, with configurations of Sylvester--Gallai type, and, via a change of variables, with two-valued superpositions of traveling waves.

Square function characterization of Hardy-type spaces

The well-known characterization of Hardy spaces $\mathrm{H}_{p}(\mathbb D)$, $0 < p < \infty$, in terms of the Littlewood-Paley g-function $$ S f (ζ) = \left(\int_0^1 |f' (r ζ)|^2 (1 - r) \mathrm dr\right)^{1/2} \in \mathrm{L}_{p} $$ is generalized to Hardy-type spaces $X_A$ corresponding to quasi-Banach lattices $X$ on the unit circle $\mathbb T$ under the assumption that the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator $M$ is bounded in $(X^δ)'$ with some $δ> 0$. As an application to composition operators $C_φ$, we derive an exact criterion for the boundedness and compactness of $C_φ: \mathcal{B}^ω\to X_A$, where $\mathcal{B}^ω= \{f \mid \sup |f'|/ω< \infty\}$ is the weighted Bloch space with a log-convex radial weight $ω$, generalizing recent results in the one-dimensional setting.

On several dynamical properties of shifts acting on directed trees

This paper explores the notions of $\mathcal{F}$-transitivity and topological $\mathcal{F}$-recurrence for backward shift operators on weighted $\ell^p$-spaces and $c_0$-spaces on directed trees, where $\mathcal{F}$ represents a Furstenberg family of subsets of $\mathbb{N}_0$. In particular, we establish the equivalence between recurrence and hypercyclicity of these operators on unrooted directed trees. For rooted directed trees, a backward shift operator is hypercyclic if and only if it possesses an orbit of a bounded subset that is weakly dense.

Orbits of the Backward Shifts with limit points

We show that the bilateral backward shift on $\ell^p(\mathbb{Z},ω)$ that has a projective orbit with a non-zero limit point is supercyclic. This phenomenon holds also for $Γ$-supercyclicity, which extends a result obtained for the first time by Chan and Seceleanu. Moreover, we show that if $K$ is a compact subset of $\ell^p(\mathbb{N},ω)$ such that its orbit under the unilateral backward shift $B$ on $\ell^p(\mathbb{N},ω)$ has a non-zero weak limit point, then $B$ is hypercyclic.

Localization of zeros in Cauchy-de Branges spaces

We study the class of discrete measures in the complex plain with the following property: up to a finite number, all zeros of any Cauchy transform of the measure (with $\ell^2$-data) are localized near the support of the measure. We find several equivalent forms of this property and prove that the parts of the support attracting zeros of Cauchy transforms are ordered by inclusion modulo finite sets.

Frequently dense harmonic functions and universal martingales on trees

We prove the existence of harmonic functions $f$ on trees, with respect to suitable transient transition operators $P$, that satisfy an analogue of Menshov universal property in the following sense: $f$ is the Poisson transform of a martingale on the boundary of the tree (equipped with the harmonic measure $m$ induced by $P$) such that, for every measurable function $h$ on the boundary, it contains a subsequence that converges to $h$ in measure. Moreover, the martingale visits every open set of measurable functions with positive lower density.

New classes of hypercyclic Toeplitz operators

We study hypercyclicity of Toeplitz operators in the Hardy space $H^2(\mathbb{D})$ with symbols of the form $R(\overline{z}) +ϕ(z)$, where $R$ is a rational function and $ϕ\in H^\infty(\mathbb{D})$. We relate this problem to cyclicity of certain families of functions for analytic Toeplitz operators and give new sufficient conditions for hypercyclicity based on deep results of B. Solomyak.

Chui's conjecture in Bergman spaces

We solve Chui's conjecture on the simplest fractions (i.e., sums of Cauchy kernels with unit coefficients) in weighted (Hilbert) Bergman spaces. Namely, for a wide class of weights, we prove that for every $N$, the simplest fractions with $N$ poles on the unit circle have minimal norm if and only if the poles are equispaced on the circle. We find sharp asymptotics of these norms. Furthermore, we describe the closure of the simplest fractions in weighted Bergman spaces, using an $L^2$ version of Thompson's theorem on dominated approximation by simplest fractions.

Krein-type theorems and ordered structure for Cauchy-de Branges spaces

We extend some results of M.G. Krein to the class of entire functions which can be represented as ratios of discrete Cauchy transforms in the plane. As an application we obtain new versions of de Branges' Ordering Theorem for nearly invariant subspaces in a class of Hilbert spaces of entire functions. Examples illustrating sharpness of the obtained results are given.

Approximation by proper holomorphic maps and tropical power series

Let $w$ be an unbounded radial weight on the complex plane. We study the following approximation problem: find a proper holomorphic map $f: \mathbb{C}\to\mathbb{C}^n$ such that $|f|$ is equivalent to $w$. We give several characterizations of those $w$ for which the problem is solvable. In particular, a constructive characterization is given in terms of tropical power series. Moreover, the following natural objects and properties are involved: essential weights on the complex plane, approximation by power series with positive coefficients, approximation by the maximum of a holomorphic function modulus. Extensions to several complex variables and approximation by harmonic maps are also considered.

Density of translates in weighted $L^p$ spaces on locally compact groups

Let $G$ be a locally compact group, and let $1\le p < \infty$. Consider the weighted $L^p$-space $L^p(G,ω)=\{f:\int|fω|^p<\infty\}$, where $ω:G\to \mathbb R$ is a positive measurable function. Under appropriate conditions on $ω$, $G$ acts on $L^p(G,ω)$ by translations. When is this action hypercyclic, that is, there is a function in this space such that the set of all its translations is dense in $L^p(G,ω)$? H. Salas (1995) gave a criterion of hypercyclicity in the case $G=\mathbb Z$ . Under mild assumptions, we present a corresponding characterization for a general locally compact group $G$. Our results are obtained in a more general setting when the translations only by a subset $S\subset G$ are considered.

Volterra type operators on growth Fock spaces

Let $ω$ be an unbounded radial weight on $\mathbb{C}^d$, $d\ge 1$. Using results related to approximation of $ω$ by entire maps, we investigate Volterra type and weighted composition operators defined on the growth space $\mathcal{A}^ω(\mathbb{C}^d)$. Special attention is given to the operators defined on the growth Fock spaces.

Moduli of holomorphic functions and logarithmically convex radial weights

Let $H(D)$ denote the space of holomorphic functions on the unit disk $D$. We characterize those radial weights $w$ on $D$, for which there exist functions $f, g \in H(D)$ such that the sum $|f| + |g|$ is equivalent to $w$. Also, we obtain similar results in several complex variables for circular, strictly convex domains with smooth boundary.

Localization of zeros for Cauchy transforms

We study the localization of zeros of Cauchy transforms of discrete measures on the real line. This question is motivated by the theory of canonical systems of differential equations. In particular, we prove that the spaces of Cauchy transforms having the localization property are in one-to-one correspondence with the canonical systems of special type, namely, those whose Hamiltonians consist only of indivisible intervals accumulating on the left. Various aspects of the localization phenomena are studied in details. Connections with the density of polynomials and other topics in analysis are discussed.

Cyclicity in rank-one perturbation problems

The property of cyclicity of a linear operator, or equivalently the property of simplicity of its spectrum, is an important spectral characteristic that appears in many problems of functional analysis and applications to mathematical physics. In this paper we study cyclicity in the context of rank-one perturbation problems for self-adjoint and unitary operators. We show that for a fixed non-zero vector the property of being a cyclic vector is not rare, in the sense that for any family of rank-one perturbations of self-adjoint or unitary operators acting on the space, that vector will be cyclic for every operator from the family, with a possible exception of a small set with respect to the parameter. We discuss applications of our results to Anderson-type Hamiltonians.

Pseudocontinuation and cyclicity for random power series

We prove that a random function in the Hardy space $H^2$ is a non-cyclic vector for the backward shift operator almost surely. The question of existence of a local pseudocontinuation for a random analytic function is also studied.
