Blow up for nonlinear wave-type equations with perturbed derivatives

We investigate semilinear wave-type equations that can be recast as wave equations with derivatives perturbed by zero-order terms. This framework covers several well-studied cases, including the scale-invariant wave equation. In this setting, we refine existing blow-up results for radial initial data with suitable decay, and identify conditions on the zero-order terms that govern the interplay between derivative perturbations, initial data size, and nonlinearity exponent.

Euler-flocking system with nonlocal dissipation in 1D: periodic entropy solutions

We consider a hydrodynamic model of flocking-type with all-to-all interaction kernel in a periodic domain in one-space dimension with linear pressure term. The main result is the global existence of periodic entropy weak solutions, for periodic initial data having finite total variation and initial density bounded away from zero.

A non-local traffic flow model for 1-to-1 junctions with buffer

Inthispaper,weintroduceanon-localPDE-ODEtrafficmodeldevotedtothedescriptionof a 1-to-1 junction with buffer. We present an existence result in the free flow case as well as a numerical method to approximate weak solutions in the general case. In addition, we show a maximum principle which is uniform in the non-local interaction range. Further, we exploit the limit models as the support of the kernel tends to zero and to infinity. We compare them with other already existing models for traffic and production flow and present numerical examples.

Nonlocal reaction traffic flow model with on-off ramps

We present a non-local version of a scalar balance law modeling traffic flow with on-ramps and off-ramps. The source term is used to describe the traffic flow over the on-ramp and off-ramps. We approximate the problem using an upwind-type numerical scheme and we provide L^\infty and BV estimates for the sequence of approximate solutions. Together with a discrete entropy inequality, we also show the well-posedness of the considered class of scalar balance laws. Some numerical simulations illustrate the behaviour of solutions in sample cases.
