Scattering length for Lennard-Jones potentials

We present an exact procedure that allows one to calculate the scattering lenth for any potential expressed as an algebraic sum of inverse powers of the interatomic distance. We apply it to (12, $s$) Lennard-Jones potentials, with different values of $s$. The procedure is suitable for a very precise determination of the intensities of the potential corresponding to zeros or poles of the scattering length.

Spiked oscillators: exact solution

A procedure to obtain the eigenenergies and eigenfunctions of a quantum spiked oscillator is presented. The originality of the method lies in an adequate use of asymptotic expansions of Wronskians of algebraic solutions of the Schroedinger equation. The procedure is applied to three familiar examples of spiked oscillators.

An algorithm to obtain global solutions of the double confluent Heun equation

A procedure is proposed to construct solutions of the double confluent Heun equation with a determinate behaviour at the singular points. The connection factors are expressed as quotients of Wronskians of the involved solutions. Asymptotic expansions are used in the computation of those Wronskians. The feasibility of the method is shown in an example, namely, the Schroedinger equation with a quasi-exactly-solvable potential.

Quantum anharmonic oscillators: a new approach

The determination of the eigenenergies of a quantum anharmonic oscillator consists merely in finding the zeros of a function of the energy, namely the Wronskian of two solutions of the Schroedinger equation which are regular respectively at the origin and at infinity. We show in this paper how to evaluate that Wronskian exactly, except for numerical rounding errors. The procedure is illustrated by application to the gx2+x2N (N a positive integer) oscillator.
