Dirac fields in LRS III spacetimes: a dynamical systems analysis

Within the $1+1+2$ covariant formalism, we investigate Locally Rotationally Symmetric (LRS) class III spacetimes sourced by a self-gravitating Dirac field expressed in polar form. By recasting the covariant field equations into an autonomous dynamical system, we perform a phase-space analysis of their solutions. We show that the cosmological evolution asymptotically converges to a contracting Bianchi I spacetime, a result also supported by numerical integrations of the system.

Locally Rotationally Symmetric spacetimes of type II in $f(\mathcal{Q})$ gravity

We investigate the $1+1+2$ covariant formalism in the presence of nonmetricity. Focusing on Locally Rotationally Symmetric spacetimes, we show how nonmetricity affects all the kinematic quantities involved in the covariant $1+1+2$ decomposition. We apply the resulting geometrical framework to study both homogeneous solutions and static spherically symmetric solutions in the context of $f(\mathcal{Q})$ gravity. We obtain sufficient conditions for homogeneous solutions with flat spatial hypersurfaces and Schwarzschild-de Sitter type solutions in the $1+1+2$ formalism. We also explore an elementary gravastar solution utilizing covariant junction conditions.

A note on the junction conditions in f(Q)-gravity

Using the notion of distribution-valued tensor, we discuss the junction conditions within the framework of f(Q)-gravity. We obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for two distinct solutions of the field equations to be smoothly joined on a given separation hypersurface.

SaulLM-7B: A pioneering Large Language Model for Law

In this paper, we introduce SaulLM-7B, a large language model (LLM) tailored for the legal domain. With 7 billion parameters, SaulLM-7B is the first LLM designed explicitly for legal text comprehension and generation. Leveraging the Mistral 7B architecture as its foundation, SaulLM-7B is trained on an English legal corpus of over 30 billion tokens. SaulLM-7B exhibits state-of-the-art proficiency in understanding and processing legal documents. Additionally, we present a novel instructional fine-tuning method that leverages legal datasets to further enhance SaulLM-7B's performance in legal tasks. SaulLM-7B is released under the MIT License.

Bianchi type-I cosmological dynamics in $f(\mathcal{Q})$ gravity: a covariant approach

Making use of the $1 + 3$ covariant formalism, we show explicitly the effect that nonmetricity has on the dynamics of the universe. Then, using the Dynamical System Approach, we analyze the evolution of Bianchi type-I cosmologies within the framework of $f(\mathcal{Q})$ gravity. We consider several models of function $f(\mathcal{Q})$, each of them manifesting isotropic eras of the universe, whether transitional or not. In one case, in addition to the qualitative analysis provided by the dynamical system method, we also obtain analytical solutions in terms of the average length scale $l$.

Reconstructing isotropic and anisotropic $f(\mathcal{Q})$ cosmologies

We present a reconstruction algorithm for cosmological models based on $f(\mathcal{Q})$ gravity. We specifically focus on obtaining exact Bianchi Type-I and Friedmann-Lema\^ıtre-Robertson-Walker solutions, finding solutions that might have application in a variety of scenarios such as spontaneous isotropization of Bianchi Type-I models, dark energy, inflation as well as pre-Big Bang cosmologies.

Spinor fields in $f(\mathcal{Q})$-gravity

We present a tetrad-affine approach to $f(\mathcal{Q})$ gravity coupled to spinor fields of spin-1/2. After deriving the field equations, we derive the conservation law of the spin density, showing that the latter ensures the vanishing of the antisymmetric part of the Einstein-like equations, just as it happens in theories with torsion and metricity. We then focus on Bianchi type-I cosmological models proposing a general procedure to solve the corresponding field equations and providing analytical solutions in the case of gravitational Lagrangian functions of the kind $f(\mathcal{Q})=α\mathcal{Q}^n$. At late time such solutions are seen to isotropize and, depending on the value of the exponent $n$, they can undergo an accelerated expansion of the spatial scale factors.

Reconciling Experimental and Theoretical Vibrational Deactivation in Low-Energy O+N$_2$ Collisions

Molecular dynamics calculations of inelastic collisions of atomic oxygen with molecular nitrogen are known to show orders of magnitude discrepancies with experimental results in the range from room temperature to many thousands of degrees Kelvin. In this work, we have achieved an unprecedented quantitative agreement with experiments even at low temperature, by including a non-adiabatic treatment involving vibronic states on newly developed potential energy surfaces. This result paves the way to the calculation of accurate and detailed databases of vibrational energy exchange rates for this collisional system. This is bound to have an impact on air plasma simulations in a wide range of conditions and on the development of Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) satellites, operating in the low thermosphere, objects of great technological interest due to their potential at a competitive cost.

Temperature and density dependent cooling function for H$_2$ with updated H$_2$/H collisional rates

The energy transfer among the components in a gas determines its fate. Especially at low temperatures, inelastic collisions drive the cooling and the heating mechanisms. In the early Universe as well as in zero- or low- metallicity environments the major contribution comes from the collisions among atomic and molecular hydrogen, also in its deuterated version. The present work shows some updated calculations of the H$_2$ cooling function based on novel collisional data which explicitely take into account the reactive pathway at low temperatures. Deviations from previous calculations are discussed and a multivariate data analysis is performed to provide a fit depending on both the gas temperature and the density of the gas.
