Applications of the freezing operators on cluster algebras

We apply freezing operators to relate different (quantum) upper cluster algebras. We prove that these operators send localized (quantum) cluster monomials to localized (quantum) cluster monomials. They also send bases to bases in many cases. In addition, the bases constructed via freezing coincide with those constructed via localization.

Twist automorphisms and Poisson structures

We introduce (quantum) twist automorphisms for upper cluster algebras and cluster Poisson algebras with coefficients. Our constructions generalize the twist automorphisms for quantum unipotent cells. We study their existence and their compatibility with Poisson structures and quantization. The twist automorphisms always permute well-behaved bases for cluster algebras. We explicitly construct (quantum) twist automorphisms of Donaldson-Thomas type and for principal coefficients.

The valuation pairing on an upper cluster algebra

It is known that many (upper) cluster algebras are not unique factorization domains. We exhibit the local factorization properties with respect to any given seed $t$: any non-zero element in a full rank upper cluster algebra can be uniquely written as the product of a cluster monomial in $t$ and another element not divisible by the cluster variables in $t$. Our approach is based on introducing the valuation pairing on an upper cluster algebra: it counts the maximal multiplicity of a cluster variable among the factorizations of any given element. We apply the valuation pairing to obtain many results concerning factoriality, $d$-vectors, $F$-polynomials and the combinatorics of cluster Poisson variables. In particular, we obtain that full rank and primitive upper cluster algebras are factorial; an explanation of $d$-vectors using valuation pairing; a cluster monomial in non-initial cluster variables is determined by its $F$-polynomial; the $F$-polynomials of non-initial cluster variables are irreducible; and the cluster Poisson variables parametrize the exchange pairs of the corresponding upper cluster algebra.

Notes: from dual canonical bases to triangular bases of quantum cluster algebras

These notes are mainly based on arXiv:2003.13674 and a series of talks given in the workshop CARTEA. For any symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ and any Weyl group element $w$, the corresponding quantum unipotent subgroup $A_{q}[N_{-}(w)]$ possesses the dual canonical basis $\mathbf{B}^*$. We show that the dual canonical basis is the (common) triangular basis of the quantum cluster algebra. Consequently, we deduce that the basis contains all quantum cluster monomials, extending previous results by the author and Kang-Kashiwara-Kim-Oh.

Dual canonical bases and quantum cluster algebras

Given any quantum cluster algebra arising from a quantum unipotent subgroup of symmetrizable Kac-Moody type, we verify the quantization conjecture in full generality that the quantum cluster monomials are contained in the dual canonical basis after rescaling.

Bracelets bases are theta bases

The skein algebra of a marked surface, possibly with punctures, admits the basis of (tagged) bracelet elements constructed by Fock-Goncharov and Musiker-Schiffler-Williams. As a cluster algebra, it also admits the theta basis of Gross-Hacking-Keel-Kontsevich, quantized by Davison-Mandel. We show that these two bases coincide (with a caveat for notched arcs in once-punctured tori). In unpunctured cases, one may consider the quantum skein algebra. We show that the quantized bases also coincide. Even for cases with punctures, we define quantum bracelets for the cluster algebras with coefficients, and we prove that these are again theta functions. On the corresponding cluster Poisson varieties (parameterizing framed $PGL_2$-local systems), we prove in general that the canonical coordinates of Fock-Goncharov, quantized by Bonahon-Wong and Allegretti-Kim, coincide with the associated (quantum) theta functions. Long-standing conjectures on strong positivity and atomicity follow as corollaries. Of potentially independent interest, we examine the behavior of cluster scattering diagrams under folding.

A refined multiplication formula for cluster characters

We obtain a multiplication formula for cluster characters on (stably) 2-Calabi-Yau (Frobenius or) triangulated categories. This formula generalizes those known for arbitrary pairs of objects and for Auslander-Reiten triangles. As an application, we show that for cluster algebras of acyclic types, specialization of a cluster variable to 1 sends all cluster variables to elements of a cluster algebra of smaller rank. We also obtain application to the reduction of friezes of acyclic type.

Cluster algebras and their bases

We give a brief introduction to (upper) cluster algebras and their quantization using examples. Then we present several important families of bases for these algebras using topological models. We also discuss tropical properties of these bases and their relation to representation theory. This article is an extended version of the talk given at the 19th International Conference on Representations of Algebras (ICRA 2020).

Bases for upper cluster algebras and tropical points

It is known that many (upper) cluster algebras possess different kinds of good bases which contain the cluster monomials and are parametrized by the tropical points of cluster Poisson varieties. For a large class of upper cluster algebras (injective-reachable ones with full rank coefficients), we describe all of its bases with these properties. Moreover, we show the existence of the generic basis for them. In addition, we prove that Bridgeland's representation theoretic formula is effective for their theta functions (weak genteelness). Our results apply to (almost) all well-known cluster algebras arising from representation theory or higher Teichmüller theory, including quantum affine algebras, unipotent cells, double Bruhat cells, skein algebras over surfaces, where we change the coefficients if necessary so that the full rank assumption holds.

An Analog of Leclerc's Conjecture for Bases of Quantum Cluster Algebras

Dual canonical bases are expected to satisfy a certain (double) triangularity property by Leclerc's conjecture. We propose an analogous conjecture for common triangular bases of quantum cluster algebras. We show that a weaker form of the analogous conjecture is true. Our result applies to the dual canonical bases of quantum unipotent subgroups. It also applies to the $t$-analogs of $q$-characters of simple modules of quantum affine algebras.

Aesthetic Quality Assessment for Group photograph

Image aesthetic quality assessment has got much attention in recent years, but not many works have been done on a specific genre of photos: Group photograph. In this work, we designed a set of high-level features based on the experience and principles of group photography: Opened-eye, Gaze, Smile, Occluded faces, Face Orientation, Facial blur, Character center. Then we combined them and 83 generic aesthetic features to build two aesthetic assessment models. We also constructed a large dataset of group photographs - GPD- annotated with the aesthetic score. The experimental result shows that our features perform well for categorizing professional photos and snapshots and predicting the distinction of multiple group photographs of diverse human states under the same scene.

Compare triangular bases of acyclic quantum cluster algebras

Given a quantum cluster algebra, we show that its triangular bases defined by Berenstein and Zelevinsky and those defined by the author are the same for the seeds associated with acyclic quivers. This result implies that the Berenstein-Zelevinsky's basis contains all the quantum cluster monomials. We also give an easy proof that the two bases are the same for the seeds associated with bipartite skew-symmetrizable matrices.

Triangular bases in quantum cluster algebras and monoidal categorification conjectures

We consider the quantum cluster algebras which are injective-reachable and introduce a triangular basis in every seed. We prove that, under some initial conditions, there exists a unique common triangular basis with respect to all seeds. This basis is parametrized by tropical points as expected in the Fock-Goncharov conjecture. As an application, we prove the existence of the common triangular bases for the quantum cluster algebras arising from representations of quantum affine algebras and partially for those arising from quantum unipotent subgroups. This result implies monoidal categorification conjectures of Hernandez-Leclerc and Fomin-Zelevinsky in the corresponding cases: all cluster monomials correspond to simple modules.

$t$-Analog of $q$-Characters, Bases of Quantum Cluster Algebras, and a Correction Technique

We first study a new family of graded quiver varieties together with a new $t$-deformation of the associated Grothendieck rings. This provides the geometric foundations for a joint paper by Yoshiyuki Kimura and the author. We further generalize the result of that paper to any acyclic quantum cluster algebra with arbitrary nondegenerate coefficients. In particular, we obtain the generic basis, the dual PBW basis, and the dual canonical basis. The method consists in a correction technique, which works for general quantum cluster algebras.

Quantum groups via cyclic quiver varieties I

We construct the quantized enveloping algebra of any simple Lie algebra of type ADE as the quotient of a Grothendieck ring arising from certain cyclic quiver varieties. In particular, the dual canonical basis of a one-half quantum group with respect to Lusztig's bilinear form is contained in the natural basis of the Grothendieck ring up to rescaling. This paper expands the categorification established by Hernandez and Leclerc to the whole quantum groups. It can be viewed as a geometric counterpart of Bridgeland's recent work for type ADE.

Graded quiver varieties, quantum cluster algebras and dual canonical basis

Inspired by a previous work of Nakajima, we consider perverse sheaves over acyclic graded quiver varieties and study the Fourier-Sato-Deligne transform from a representation theoretic point of view. We obtain deformed monoidal categorifications of acyclic quantum cluster algebras with specific coefficients. In particular, the (quantum) positivity conjecture is verified whenever there is an acyclic seed in the (quantum) cluster algebra. In the second part of the paper, we introduce new quantizations and show that all quantum cluster monomials in our setting belong to the dual canonical basis of the corresponding quantum unipotent subgroup. This result generalizes previous work by Lampe and by Hernandez-Leclerc from the Kronecker and Dynkin quiver case to the acyclic case. The Fourier transform part of this paper provides crucial input for the second author's paper where he constructs bases of acyclic quantum cluster algebras with arbitrary coefficients and quantization.

Quantum Cluster Variables via Serre Polynomials

For skew-symmetric acyclic quantum cluster algebras, we express the quantum $F$-polynomials and the quantum cluster monomials in terms of Serre polynomials of quiver Grassmannians of rigid modules. As byproducts, we obtain the existence of counting polynomials for these varieties and the positivity conjecture with respect to acyclic seeds. These results complete previous work by Caldero and Reineke and confirm a recent conjecture by Rupel.
