Stefan-Boltzmann law and Casimir effect for dark photons

In this paper, the existence of a massive dark photon, associated with a new gauge group is considered. The dark photon can be kinetically mixed with the photon. To study some applications, the thermo field dynamics formalism is used. Exploring the topological structure of this approach, the influence of dark photons on the Stefan-Boltzmann law and the Casimir effect at zero and finite temperature is calculated.

Aether field coupled to the electromagnetic field in the TFD formalism

In this paper, the aether field, which leads to the violation of Lorentz symmetries, coupled with the electromagnetic field is considered. In order to study thermal and size effects in this theory, the Thermo Field Dynamics (TFD) formalism is used. TFD is a real-time quantum field theory that has an interesting topological structure. Here three different topologies are taken, then three different phenomena are calculated. These effects are investigated considering that the aether field can point in different directions. The results obtained are compared with the usual results of the Lorentz invariant electromagnetic field.

On Thermodynamics of Kerr Black Hole

The gravitational Stefan-Boltzmann law is considered for the Kerr black hole in the weak-field limit. The energy-momentum tensor predicted by Teleparallelism Equivalent to General Relativity (TEGR) is used in the Thermo Field Dynamics (TFD) formalism to thermalize the field. A temperature-dependent gravitational pressure is obtained. Regions of divergent heat capacity are observed. According to Landau theory, it allows the existence of distinct phases around the Kerr black hole.

Violation of Lorentz symmetries and thermal effects in Compton scattering

In this paper, the differential cross section for the Compton scattering process is calculated. Two types of corrections are investigated: corrections due to violation of Lorentz symmetry and thermal effects. An extended QED is considered to introduce the parameter that leads to the breaking of symmetry. While temperature effects are introduced using Thermofield Dynamics formalism. It is shown that the differential cross section changes with both corrections. These corrections are dominant at appropriate limits. These special cases are analyzed and compared with other results from the literature.

Thermal Casimir effect in Gödel-type universes

In this paper, a massless scalar field coupled to gravity is considered. Then the Casimir effect at finite temperature is calculated. Such development is carried out in the Thermo Field Dynamics formalism. This approach presents a topological structure that allows for investigating the effects of temperature and the size effect in a similar way. These effects are calculated considering Gödel-type solutions as a gravitational background. The Stefan-Boltzmann law and its consistency are analyzed for both causal and non-causal Gödel-type regions. In this space-time and for any region, the Casimir effect at zero temperature is always attractive. However, at finite temperature, a repulsive Casimir effect can emerge from a critical temperature.

Non-abelian aether-like term and applications at finite temperature

The Yang-Mills-aether theory is considered. Implications of the non-abelian aether-like term, which introduces violation of Lorentz symmetry, is investigated in a thermal quantum field theory. The Thermofield Dynamics formalism is used to introduce the temperature effects and spatial compactification. As a consequence, corrections due to the non-abelian aether term are calculated for the non-abelian Stefan-Boltzmann law and for the non-abelian Casimir energy and pressure at zero and finite temperature.

Finite temperature applications in Gödel space-time

Temperature effects in a scalar field non-minimally coupled to gravity are investigated. The Thermo Field Dynamics formalism is used. This is a topological field theory that allows us to calculate different effects, such as the Stefan-Boltzmann law and the Casimir effect, on an equal footing. These phenomena are calculated assuming the Gödel space-time as a gravitational background. A possible implication of these results at the beginning of the universe is discussed.

Gravitational electron-positron scattering

A scattering process with gravitons as an intermediate state is investigated. To study such a scattering, the Gravitoelectromagnetism theory is considered. It is a gravitational theory built on the analogy between gravity and electromagnetism. The complete Lagrangian formulation of the gravitoelectromagnetic theory includes interactions of gravitons with fermions and photons that leads us to calculate their scattering amplitudes and cross-sections. In this context, the gravitational cross-section of the $e^{-}+e^{+}\longrightarrowμ^{-}+μ^{+}$ scattering process is obtained. A comparison between the electromagnetic and gravitational cross-sections is made.

Temperature effects for $e^-+e^+\rightarrow μ^-+μ^+$ scattering in very special relativity

The electron-positron scattering process is investigated in the context of very special relativity (VSR). This theory assumes that the true symmetry of nature is not the full Lorentz group, but some of its subgroups, such as the subgroups $SIM(2)$ and $HOM(2)$. In this context, the cross-section for electron-positron scattering at finite temperature is calculated. The effects of temperature are introduced using the Thermo Field Dynamics (TFD) formalism. Our result shows that the cross-section is changed due to both effects, the VSR contributions and temperature effects. An estimated value for the VSR parameter using experimental data available in the literature is discussed.

TFD formalism: applications to the scalar field in a Lorentz-violating theory

The Thermofield Dynamics (TFD) formalism is considered. In this context, a Lorentz-breaking scalar field theory is introduced. In contrast to the Matsubara formalism, the best-known approach to introducing the temperature effect, TFD is a real-time formalism and is a topological field theory. While in Matsubara the temperature effects are introduced as a consequence of a compactification of the field in a finite interval on the time axis, in the TFD this effect emerges through a condensed state related to the Bogoliubov transformation. An advantage of the TFD formalism is that different topologies, which lead to different effects, can be chosen. Here, three different topologies are considered. Then the Stefan-Boltzmann law and Casimir effect at zero and non-zero temperature are calculated. This is a unique feature of TFD, which allows us to treat different phenomena in the same way.

Casimir effect in Very Special Relativity at finite temperature

Recently a great deal of interest in field theories formulated in a Lorentz violating framework has been developed. Here the Very Special Relativity (VSR) is considered. The main aspect in the VSR proposal is that laws of physics are invariant under the subgroups of the Poincaré group preserving the basic elements of special relativity. An important point is that the photon acquires a mass. In this context, the energy-momentum tensor for the electromagnetic field is calculated. From this, the Stefan-Boltzmann law and Casimir effect at finite temperature in VSR are obtained. The effects of temperature are introduced using the Thermo Field Dynamics (TFD) formalism. A comparative analysis with the Casimir effect for the standard electromagnetic case is developed.

On Gravitational Stefan-Boltzmann Law and Casimir Effect in FRW Universe

Both Stefan-Boltzmann law and the Casimir effect, in a universe described by the FRW metric with zero curvature, are calculated. These effects are described by Thermo Field Dynamics (TFD). The gravitational energy-momentum tensor is defined in the context of Teleparallel Equivalent to General Relativity (TEGR). Each of the two effects gives a consistent prediction with what is observed on a cosmological scale. One of the effect establishes a minimum range for the deceleration parameter. While another leads to the conclusion that a possible cosmological constant has a very small order of magnitude.

On the Temperature of Gravitation in the de Sitter Space-Time

The temperature associated with gravitation as presented in the Unruh effect and Hawking temperature serves to link different areas of physics, such as gravity, statistical mechanics, and quantum physics. In this paper, teleparallel gravity is considered to study temperature effects on the de Sitter space-time. The effects of temperature are introduced using the Thermo Field Dynamics (TFD) formalism. The gravitational Stefan-Boltzmann law is obtained. Then the temperature of gravitation in the de Sitter space-time is calculated. Here an Unruh-type effect is discussed. This effect relates the temperature and the acceleration of a particle in the de Sitter space-time. The gravitational Casimir effect is calculated. The result shows that there is a transition between an attractive and a repulsive Casimir effect.

Size-effect at finite temperature in a quark-antiquark effective model in phase space

A quark-antiquark effective model is studied in a toroidal topology at finite temperature. The model is described by a Schrödinger equation with linear potential which is embedded in a torus. The following aspects are analysed: (i) the nonclassicality structure using the Wigner function formalism; (ii) finite temperature and size-effects are studied by a generalization of Thermofield Dynamics written in phase space; (iii) in order to include the spin of the quark, Pauli-like Schrödinger equation is used; (iv) analysis of the size-effect is considered to observe the fluctuation in the ground state. The size effect goes to zero at zero, finite and high temperatures. The results emphasize that the spin is a central aspect for this quark-antiquark effective model.

Effects of the CPT-even and Lorentz violation on the Bhabha scattering at finite temperature

In this paper a Lorentz-violating CPT-even non-minimal coupling term is considered. A new interaction term between fermions and photons emerges. In this context, the differential cross-section for Bhabha scattering at finite temperature is calculated. The temperature effects are introduced using the Thermo- Field Dynamics (TFD) formalism. It is shown that the differential cross-section is changed due to both effects, Lorentz violation and finite temperature.

Bhabha scattering in Very Special Relativity at finite temperature

In this paper the differential cross section for Bhabha scattering in the Very Special Relativity (VSR) framework is calculated. The main characteristic of the VSR is to modify the gauge invariance. This leads to different types of interactions appearing in a non-local form. In addition, using the Thermo Field Dynamics formalism, thermal corrections for the differential cross section of Bhabha scattering in VSR framework are obtained.

Non-Abelian Gravitoelectromagnetism and applications at finite temperature

Studies about a formal analogy between the gravitational and the electromagnetic fields lead to the notion of Gravitoelectromagnetism (GEM) to describe gravitation. In fact, the GEM equations correspond to the weak field approximation of gravitation field. Here a non-abelian extension of the GEM theory is considered. Using the Thermo Field Dynamics (TFD) formalism to introduce temperature effects some interesting physical phenomena are investigated. The non-abelian GEM Stefan-Boltzmann law and the Casimir effect at zero and finite temperature for this non-abelian field are calculated.
