Anisotropic strange star in Finsler geometry

In the present paper, we report on a study of the anisotropic strange stars under Finsler geometry. Keeping in mind that Finsler spacetime is not merely a generalization of Riemannian geometry rather the main idea is the projectivized tangent bundle of the manifold $\mathpzc{M}$, we have developed the respective field equations. Thereafter, we consider the strange quark distribution inside the stellar system followed by the MIT bag model equation of state (EOS). To find out the stability and also the physical acceptability of the stellar configuration, we perform in detail some basic physical tests of the proposed model. The results of the testing show that the system is consistent with the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff (TOV) equation, Herrera cracking concept, different energy conditions and adiabatic index. One important result that we observe is that the anisotropic stress reaches to the maximum at the surface of the stellar configuration. We calculate (i) the maximum mass as well as corresponding radius, (ii) the central density of the strange stars for finite values of bag constant $B_g$ and (iii) the fractional binding energy of the system. This study shows that Finsler geometry is especially suitable to explain massive stellar systems.

Charged anisotropic strange stars in Finslerian geometry

We investigate a simplified model for the strange stars in the framework of Finslerian spacetime geometry, composed of charged fluid. It is considered that the fluid consisting of three flavor quarks including a small amount of non-interacting electrons to maintain the chemical equilibrium and assumed that the fluid is compressible by nature. To obtain the simplified form of charged strange star we considered constant flag curvature. Based on geometry, we have developed the field equations within the localized charge distribution. We considered that the strange quarks distributed within the stellar system are compiled with the MIT bag model type of equation of state (EOS) and the charge distribution within the system follows a power law. We represent the exterior spacetime by the Finslerian Ressiner-Nordstr{ö}m space-time. The maximum anisotropic stress is obtained at the surface of the system. Whether the system is in equilibrium or not, has been examined with respect to the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff (TOV) equation, Herrera cracking concept, different energy conditions and adiabatic index. We obtain that the total charge is of the order of 10$^{20}$ C and the corresponding electric field is of around 10$^{22}$ V/m. The central density and central pressure vary inversely with the charge. Varying the free parameter (charge constant) of the model, we find the generalized mass-radius variation of strange stars and determine the maximum limited mass with the corresponding radius. Furthermore, we also considered the variation of mass and radius against central density respectively.

Generating functions of wormholes

It is known that wormhole geometry could be found solving the Einstein field equations by tolerating the violation of null energy condition (NEC). Violation of NEC is not possible for the physical matter distributions, however, can be achieved by considering distributions of "exotic matter". The main purpose of this work is to find generating functions comprising the wormhole like geometry and discuss the nature of these generating functions. We have used the Herrera et al. \cite{1} approaches of obtaining generating functions in the background of wormhole spacetime. Here we have adopt two approaches of solving the field equations to find wormhole geometry. In the first method, we have assumed the redshift function $f(r)$ and the shape function $b(r)$ and solve for the generating functions. In an another attempt we assume generating functions and redshift functions and then try to find shape functions of the wormholes.

Solar system tests in constraining parameters of dyon black holes

In the present letter we examine the possibility of constraining dyon black holes based on the available observational data at the scale of the Solar system. For this we consider the classical tests of general relativity, viz., the perihelion precession of the planet Mercury and the deflection of light by the Sun. In connection to mathematical analysis we are considering static and spherically symmetric dyon black hole which carries both the electric and magnetic charge simultaneously, which are encoded it by the parameters $λ_0$ and $β_0$. We constrain these two parameters using the Solar system tests and obtain the permissible range from the observations.

Black holes/naked singularities in four-dimensional non-static space-time and the energy-momentum distributions

In this article, we discuss four dimensional non-static space-times in the background of de-Sitter and anti-de Sitter spaces with the matter-energy sources a stiff fluid, anisotropic fluid, and an electromagnetic field. Under various parameter conditions the solutions may represent models of naked singularity and/or black holes. Finally, the energy-momentum distributions using the complexes of Landau-Lifshitz, Einstein, Papapetrou, and Møller prescriptions, were evaluated.

Localization of Energy-Momentum for a Black Hole Spacetime Geometry with Constant Topological Euler Density

The evaluation of the energy-momentum distribution for a new four-dimensional, spherically symmetric, static and charged black hole spacetime geometry with constant non-zero topological Euler density is performed by using the energy-momentum complexes of Einstein and Møller. This black hole solution was recently developed in the context of the coupled Einstein--non-linear electrodynamics of the Born-Infeld type. The energy is found to depend on the mass $M$ and the charge $q$ of the black hole, the cosmological constant $Λ$ and the radial coordinate $r$, while in both prescriptions all the momenta vanish. Some limiting and particular cases are analyzed, illustrating the rather extraordinary character of the spacetime geometry considered.

A New Model for Strange Stars

In the present work, we attempt to find a new class of solutions for the spherically symmetric perfect fluid sphere by employing the Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM), a new tool via which the mass polynomial function facilitates to tackle the Einstein field equations. A set of interior solutions found on the basis of the simplest MIT bag model equation of state (EOS) in the form $p=\frac{1}{3}(ρ-4B)$ where $B$ is the bag constant. The proposed interior metric for the stellar system is consistent with the exterior Schwarzschild spacetime on the boundary. In addition, we also conduct a detailed study on different tests, viz. the energy conditions, TOV equation, adiabatic index, Buchdahl limit, etc., to verify the physical validity of the proposed model. The numerical value of the used parameters is predicted for different strange star candidates, for different chosen values of the bag constant. In a nutshell, by exploiting HPM technique first time ever in the field of relativistic astrophysics, we have predicted in the present literature a singularity-free and stable stellar model which is suitable to describe ultra-dense objects, like strange (quark) stars.

Particle motion around charged black holes in generalized dilaton-axion gravity

The behaviour of massive and massless test particles around asymptotically flat and spherically symmetric, charged black holes in the context of generalized dilaton-axion gravity in four dimensions is studied. All the possible motions are investigated by calculating and plotting the corresponding effective potential for the massless and massive particles as well. Further, the motion of massive (charged or uncharged) test particles in the gravitational field of charged black holes in generalized dilaton-axion gravity for the cases of static and non-static equilibrium is investigated by applying the Hamilton-Jacobi approach.

Formation of Wormholes by Dark Matter in the Galaxy Dragonfly 44

Recently, ultra diffuse galaxy (UDG) of Dragonfly 44 in the Coma Cluster was observed and observations of the rotational speed suggest that its mass is almost same as the mass of the Milky Way. On the other hand, interestingly, the galaxy emits only 1 \% of the light emitted by the Milky Way. Then, astronomers reported that Dragonfly 44 may be made almost entirely of dark matter. In this study we try to show that the dark matter that constitutes Dragonfly 44 can form the wormhole or not. Two possible dark matter profiles are used, namely, ultra diffuse galaxy King's model and generalized Navarro-Frenk-White (NFW) dark matter profile. We have shown that King's model dark matter profile does not manage to provide wormhole whereas generalized Navarro-Frenk-White (NFW) dark matter profile is managed to find wormholes.

Gravastars with higher dimensional spacetimes

We present a new model of gravastar in the higher dimensional Einsteinian spacetime including Einstein's cosmological constant $Λ$. Following Mazur and Mottola (2001,~2004) we obtain a set of solutions for gravastar. This gravastar is described by three different regions, namely, (I) Interior region, (II) Intermediate thin spherical shell and (III) Exterior region. The pressure within the interior region is equal to the negative matter density which provides a repulsive force over the shell. This thin shell is formed by ultra relativistic plasma, where the pressure is directly proportional to the matter-energy density which does counter balance the repulsive force from the interior whereas the exterior region is completely vacuum assumed to be de Sitter spacetime which can be described by the generalized Schwarzschild solution. With this specification we find out a set of exact and non-singular solutions of the gravastar which seems physically very interesting and reasonable.

Strange stars in $f(R,\mathcal{T})$ gravity

In this article we try to present spherically symmetric isotropic strange star model under the framework of $f(R,\mathcal{T})$ theory of gravity. To this end, we consider that the Lagrangian density is an arbitrary linear function of the Ricci scalar $R$ and the trace of the energy momentum tensor~$\mathcal{T}$ given as $f\left(R,\mathcal{T}\right)=R+2χT$. We also assume that the quark matter distribution is governed by the simplest form of the MIT bag model equation of state (EOS) as $p=\frac{1}{3}\left(ρ-4B\right)$, where $B$ is the bag constant. We have obtained an exact solution of the modified form of the the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff (TOV) equation in the framework of $f(R,\mathcal{T})$ gravity theory and studied the dependence of different physical properties, viz., total mass, radius, energy density and pressure on the chosen values of $χ$. Further, to examine physical acceptability of the proposed stellar model in detail, we conducted different tests, viz. energy conditions, modified TOV equation, mass-radius relation, causality condition etc. We have precisely explained the effects arising due to the coupling of the matter and geometry on the compact stellar system. For a chosen value of the Bag constant we have predicted numerical values of different physical parameters in tabular format for the different strange stars. It is found that as the factor $χ$ increases the strange stars shrink gradually and become less massive to turn into a more compact stellar system. The maximum mass point is well within the observational limits and hence our proposed model is suitable to explain the ultra dense compact stars. For $χ=0$ we retrieve as usual the standard results of general relativity (GR).

Anisotropic strange stars under simplest minimal matter-geometry coupling in the $f(R,\mathcal{T})$ gravity

We study strange stars in the framework of $f\left(R,\mathcal{T}\right)$ theory of gravity where the strange quark matter distribution inside the stellar system is governed by the phenomenological MIT Bag model equation of state (EOS). Further, for a specific value of $B$ and observed values of mass of the strange star candidates we obtain the exact solution of the modified Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff (TOV) equation in the framework of $f\left(R,\mathcal{T}\right)$ gravity and have studied in detail the dependence of the different physical parameters due to the chosen different values of $χ$. To check the physical acceptability and stability of the stellar system based on the obtained solutions we have performed different physical tests, viz., the energy conditions, Herrera cracking concept, adiabatic index etc. In this work, we also have explained the effects, those are arising due to the interaction between the matter and the curvature terms in $f\left(R,\mathcal{T}\right)$ gravity, on the anisotropic compact stellar system. It is interesting to note that as the values of $χ$ increase the strange stars become more massive and their radius increase gradually so that eventually they gradually turn into less dense compact objects. The present study reveals that the modified $f\left(R,\mathcal{T}\right)$ gravity is a suitable theory to explain massive stellar systems like recent magnetars, massive pulsars and super-Chandrasekhar stars, which can not be explained in the framework of GR. However, for $χ=0$ the standard results of Einsteinian gravity are retrieved.

Deflection of light by black holes and massless wormholes in massive gravity

Weak gravitational lensing by black holes and wormholes in the context of massive gravity (Bebronne and Tinyakov 2009) theory is studied. The particular solution examined is characterized by two integration constants, the mass $M$ and an extra parameter $S$ namely `scalar charge'. These black hole reduce to the standard Schwarzschild black hole solutions when the scalar charge is zero and the mass is positive. In addition, a parameter $λ$ in the metric characterizes so-called 'hair'. The geodesic equations are used to examine the behavior of the deflection angle in four relevant cases of the parameter $λ$. Then, by introducing a simple coordinate transformation $r^λ=S+v^2$ into the black hole metric, we were able to find a massless wormhole solution of Einstein-Rosen (ER) \cite{Einstein} type with scalar charge $S$. The programme is then repeated in terms of the Gauss--Bonnet theorem in the weak field limit after a method is established to deal with the angle of deflection using different domains of integration depending on the parameter $λ$. In particular, we have found new analytical results corresponding to four special cases which generalize the well known deflection angles reported in the literature. Finally, we have established the time delay problem in the spacetime of black holes and wormholes, respectively.

A cylindrically symmetric, static anisotropic fluid spacetime and the naked singularity

In this article, a cylindrical symmetry and static solution of the Einstein's field equations, was presented. The space-time is conformally flat, regular everywhere except on the symmetry axis where it possesses a naked curvature singularity. The matter-energy source anisotropic fluids violates the weak energy condition (WEC), diverge on the symmetry axis. We discuss geodesics motion of free test-particles near to the singularity, and geodesic expansion in the metric to understand the nature of singularity which is naked or covered, and finally the C-energy of the space-time.

Cosmological solutions and finite time singularities in Finslerian geometry

We consider a very general scenario of our universe where its geometry is characterized by the Finslerian structure on the underlying spacetime manifold, a generalization of the Riemannian geometry. Now considering a general energy-momentum tensor for matter sector, we derive the gravitational field equations in such spacetime. Further, to depict the cosmological dynamics in such spacetime proposing an interesting equation of state identified by a sole parameter $γ$ which for isotropic limit is simply the barotropic equation of state $p= (γ- 1) ρ$ ($γ\in \mathbb{R}$ being the barotropic index), we solve the background dynamics. The dynamics offers several possibilities depending on this sole parameter as follows $-$ (i) only an exponential expansion, or (ii) a finite time past singualrity (big bang) with late accelerating phase, or (iii) a nonsingular universe exhibiting an accelerating scenario at late time which finally predicts a big rip type singularity. We also discuss several energy conditions and the possibility of cosmic bounce. Finally, we establish the first law of thermodynamics in such spacetime.

Anisotropic strange stars in the Einstein-Maxwell spacetime

We present here a detailed analysis on the effects of charge on the anisotropic strange star candidates by considering a spherically symmetric interior spacetime metric. To obtain exact solution of the Einstein-Maxwell field equations we have considered the anisotropic strange quark matter (SQM) distribution governed by the simplified MIT bag equation of state (EOS), $p=\frac{1}{3}\left( ρ-4\,B \right)$, where $B$ is the bag constant and the distribution of the electrical charge is given as $q(r)=Q\left({r}/{R}\right)^3=α{r^3}$, where $α$ is a constant. To this end, to calculate different constants we have described the exterior spacetime by the Reissner-Nordstr{ö}m metric. By using the values of the observed mass for the different strange star candidates we have maximized anisotropic stress at the surface to predict the exact values of the radius for the different values of $α$ and a specific value of the bag constant. Further, we perform different tests to study the physical validity and the stability of the proposed stellar model. We found accumulation of the electric charge distribution is maximum at the surface having electric charge of the order ${{10}^{20}}~C$ and electric field of the order ${10}^{21-22}~V/cm$. To study the different physical parameters and the effects of charge on the anisotropic stellar system we have presented our analysis graphically and in the tabular format by considering $LMC~X-4$ as the representative of the strange star candidates.

Charged wormholes supported by 2-fluid immiscible matter particles

We provide a 2-fluid immiscible matter source that supplies fuel to construct wormhole spacetime. The exact wormhole solutions are found in the model having, besides real matter or ordinary matter, some quintessence matter along with charge distribution. We intend to derive a general metric of a charged wormhole under some density profiles of galaxies that is also consistent with the observational profile of rotation curve of galaxies. We have shown that the effective mass remains positive as well as the wormhole physics violate the null energy conditions. Some physical features are briefly discussed.

Semiclassical gravitational effects on the gravitational lensing in the spacetime of topological defects

The theory of gravitational lensing has revealed many generic and fundamental properties of compact objects like black holes and wormholes. In this article, we utilize a recent formulation to compute the quantum effects on the deflection angle of a light ray, namely, the Gauss-Bonnet theorem (GBT) to explore the semiclassical gravitational effects in the spacetime of a point-like global monopole and a cosmic string. Previously, the Gauss-Bonnet theorem [Class. Quant. Grav. 25, 235009 (2008)] was proposed as an alternative way to compute the deflection angle of light in a static, spherically symmetric and asymptotically flat spacetime. In the present article we have used the celebrated GBT that applied to the optical metric as well as the geodesic method in computing the deflection angle. Interestingly one can observe that we have found an exact result between GBT and the standard approach up to the third-order contributions terms by modifying the domain of integration for cosmic string and global monopole deflection angles. Finally we have considered the time delay in the cosmic string/global monopole spacetime and found that the delay in time is proportional to the linear mass density of the cosmic string and global monopole parameter, respectively.
