Using Agile Story Points and Game Theory Together: Better Software Planning and Development in Agile Software Development

In the realm of Agile software development, precise user story point estimation is crucial for effectual project timeline and resource management. Despite its significance, the method is often marred by issues stemming from cognitive biases, disparities in individual judgment, and hurdles related to both collaboration and competition. In addressing these challenges, this study employs a comprehensive literature review, integrating key concepts from Agile software development, Story Point estimation, and Game Theory. Through rigorous examination of existing literature and relevant case studies, we identified pervasive issues in Agile and Story Point estimation. In response, we proposed the application of game theoretic strategies, notably the Vickrey Auction and Stag Hunt Game, aiming to refine these estimations. The resultant methodology not only promotes the use of game-theory inspired mechanisms but also accentuates their potential to enhance software development planning, team cohesion, and conflict resolution. Preliminary results from our research underscore the transformative potential of these games when incorporated into Agile methodologies, especially during planning and retrospective phases. The overarching goal is to achieve improved accuracy in planning, foster team collaboration, and a discernible uplift in software product quality.

Devops And Agile Methods Integrated Software Configuration Management Experience

The advancements in the software industry, along with the changing technologies, methods, and conditions, have particularly brought forth a perspective that prioritizes the improvement of all stages of the software development lifecycle by approaching the process through automation. In particular, methods such as agile methodologies and DevOps, which focus on collaboration, automation, and efficient software production, have become crucial for the software industry. In particular, the understanding of utilizing principles such as distribution management, collaboration, parallel development, and end-to-end automation in agile software development, and DevOps techniques has emerged. In this study, one of these areas, software configuration management, and the integration of modern software development practices such as agile and DevOps are addressed. The aim of this study is to examine the differences and benefits that innovative methods bring to the software configuration management field when compared to traditional methods. To this end, a project is taken as a basis, and with the integration of DevOps and agile methodologies, improvements are made and the results are compared with the previous state. As a result of monitoring software configuration management with the integration of DevOps and agile methodologies, improvements are seen in the build and deployment time, automated report generation, more accurate and fault-free version management, completely controlling the software system, working time and workforce efficiency.

From Agile to DevOps, Holistic Approach for Faster and Efficient Software Product Release Management

Release management is one of the most important software processes and is a set of processes that includes the compilation, configuration, and management of software versions in different environments. In recent years, changes in processes, technologies, and tools and changes in practices and understanding have paved the way for more effective, efficient, sustainable, reusable models and methods in this field. The purpose of this study is to examine the DevOps idea to produce a flow, highlight their benefits, and investigate with a model how these philosophies, which are two of the most important processes and methods in software development today, can reveal an effective release management process. What has been learned from the research is how the agile and DevOps practices, which have become widespread in recent years, can be positioned in a general flow in the release management process, although there are different practices, flows, disciplines, and technology. Sharing a case study on these issues in future studies and an experience sharing research where the flow is applied as a case study will reveal positive feedback on the real-life application and results of the flow and the model. Further, a literature review studies in which deficiencies in the literature are identified will be useful in determining the gaps in the process.
