Transfer principles and the Kato-Kuzumaki conjecture

We show that for tame valued fields of equal characteristic with divisible value group, the $C_i$ property lifts from the residue field to the valued field under suitable hypotheses on the residue field. We apply this transfer principle to prove Kato-Kuzumaki's conjecture in full generality for several arithmetically significant fields, for instance the field $\mathbf{C}(x_1,\dots,x_m)(\!(t_1)\!)\dots(\!(t_n)\!)$, and the perfections of both $\overline{\mathbf{F}}_p(x_1,\dots,x_m)(\!(t_1)\!)\dots(\!(t_n)\!)$ and $\mathbf{F}_p(\!(t_1)\!)\dots(\!(t_n)\!)$. Finally, we prove that $\mathbf{Q}_p$ satisfies the strong $C_1^1$ property, thereby answering a question of Wittenberg.

Stability of the Kato-Kuzumaki's properties under field extensions

In 1986, Kato and Kuzumaki introduced some Diophantine properties of fields, called the $C_i^q$ properties, and they hoped they would provide a good characterization of the cohomological dimension of fields. In this paper, we study the stability of some variants of the $C_i^q$ properties under transcendental and algebraic extensions. As an application, we obtain the $C_n^1$ property for the field $\mathbf{F}_p(x_1,\cdots,x_n)$.

Kato-Kuzumaki's properties for function fields over higher local fields

Let $k$ be a $d$-local field such that the corresponding $1$-local field $k^{(d-1)}$ is a $p$-adic field and $C$ a curve over $k$. Let $K$ be the function field of $C$. We prove that for each $n,m \in \mathbf{N}$, and hypersurface $Z$ of $\mathbf{P}^n_K$ with degree $m$ such that $m^{d+1} \leq n$, the $(d+1)$-th Milnor $\mathrm{K}$-theory group is generated by the images norms of finite extension $L$ of $K$ such that $Z$ admits an $L$-point. Let $j \in \{1,\cdots , d\}$. When $C$ admits a point in an extension $l/k$ that is not $i$-ramified for every $i \in \{1, \cdots, d-j\}$ we generalise this result to hypersurfaces $Z$ of $\mathbf{P}_K^n$ with degree $m$ such that $m^{j+1} \leq n$. \par In order to prove these results we give a description of the Tate-Shafarevich group $\Sha^{d+2}(K,\mathbf{Q}/\mathbf{Z}(d+1))$ in terms of the combinatorics of the special fibre of certain models of the curve $C$.

Reocurrence and weak approximation over geometric global fields

In this article, we prove a Reocurrence Theorem over function fields of curves over $\mathbf{C}(\! (t)\! )$ and over finite extensions of the Laurent series field $\mathbf{C}(\! (x,y)\! )$. This provides a partial replacement to Chebotarev's Theorem over such fields. A concrete application to the study of weak approximation for homogeneous spaces under $\mathrm{SL}_n$ and with finite stabilizers is given at the end of the article.
