Integrating Reasoning and Generalization in Text-to-SQL via Self-Enhanced Fine-Tuning

Text-to-SQL aims to translate natural language questions into executable SQL queries over structured databases, enabling non-expert users to access data intuitively. While recent advances in large language models (LLMs) have shown promise in this task, existing LLM-based approaches often struggle to strike a balance between strong reasoning capabilities and robust generalization. To address these limitations, we propose CoTE-SQL to enhance the LLM-based text-to-SQL generation with three key innovations: (i) self-enhanced reasoning traces distilled from LLMs without human annotation, (ii) structured chain-of-thought (CoT) prompting with modular decomposition and examples retrieval, and (iii) error-aware revision based on SQL execution feedback. Extensive experiments on the Spider and Bird benchmarks demonstrate that CoTE-SQL achieves new state-of-the-art performance among methods built on open-source LLMs with comparable model sizes on Bird (53.39% EX / 59.02 VES) and strong results on Spider (79.60% EX / 77.19 VES), with especially significant gains on complex queries. Results highlight the effectiveness of combining self-enhancement, structured reasoning, and execution-time feedback within an LLM-based framework for text-to-SQL design.

NTS-CoT: Mitigating Hallucinations in LLM-based News Timeline Summarization with Chain-of-Thought Reasoning

The rapid updates of online news make tracking event developments challenging, highlighting the need for timeline summarization (TLS). Hallucinations, where LLM-generated content deviates from source news, still remain a critical issue in LLM-based TLS and are not well studied in existing works. To bridge this gap, we identify two primary types of hallucinations: unfaithful content during news summarization and information omission in date-event summarization. Then, we propose NTS-CoT, a novel framework that leverages Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning to mitigate hallucinations in TLS. The framework consists of three key modules: i) Element-CoT to capture essential news elements for faithful summarization, ii) Date Selection to combine temporal saliency and event prominence for timestamp selection, and iii) Causal-CoT to infer causal relationships and reduce omissions in date-event summarization. Extensive experiments, including quantitative analysis on three TLS benchmarks and human evaluation, demonstrate that NTS-CoT outperforms state-of-the-art baselines, effectively mitigating hallucinations and improving LLM-based TLS performance. Accelerating Multi-Condition T2I Generation via Adaptive Condition Offloading and Pruning

Text-to-image (T2I) generation using multiple conditions enables fine-grained user control on the generated image. Yet, incorporating multi-condition inputs incurs substantial computation and communication overhead, due to additional preprocessing subtasks and control optimizations. It hence leads to unacceptable generation latency. In this paper, we propose an end-edge collaborative system design to accelerate multi-condition T2I generation through adaptive condition offloading and pruning. Extensive offline profiling reveal that, different conditions exhibit significant diversity in computation and communication costs. To this end, we propose a \textit{Subtask Manager} that jointly optimizes condition inference offloading and bandwidth allocation using a heuristic algorithm, balancing local and edge execution delays to minimize overall preprocessing latency. Then, we design a lightweight feature-driven \textit{Conditioning Scale Estimator} that evaluates the contribution of each condition by analyzing its feature activation strength and overlap with other conditions. This allows adaptive conditioning scale selection and pruning of insignificant conditions, thereby accelerating the denoising process. Extensive experimental results show that our system reduces latency by nearly 25\% and improves 6\% average generation quality, outperforming other benchmarks.

Stop Wandering: Efficient Vision-Language Navigation via Metacognitive Reasoning

Training-free Vision-Language Navigation (VLN) agents powered by foundation models can follow instructions and explore 3D environments. However, existing approaches rely on greedy frontier selection and passive spatial memory, leading to inefficient behaviors such as local oscillation and redundant revisiting. We argue that this stems from a lack of metacognitive capabilities: the agent cannot monitor its exploration progress, diagnose strategy failures, or adapt accordingly. To address this, we propose MetaNav, a metacognitive navigation agent integrating spatial memory, history-aware planning, and reflective correction. Spatial memory builds a persistent 3D semantic map. History-aware planning penalizes revisiting to improve efficiency. Reflective correction detects stagnation and uses an LLM to generate corrective rules that guide future frontier selection. Experiments on GOAT-Bench, HM3D-OVON, and A-EQA show that MetaNav achieves state-of-the-art performance while reducing VLM queries by 20.7%, demonstrating that metacognitive reasoning significantly improves robustness and efficiency.

QoE-Aware Service Provision for Mobile AR Rendering: An Agent-Driven Approach

Mobile augmented reality (MAR) is envisioned as a key immersive application in 6G, enabling virtual content rendering aligned with the physical environment through device pose estimation. In this paper, we propose a novel agent-driven communication service provisioning approach for edge-assisted MAR, aiming to reduce communication overhead between MAR devices and the edge server while ensuring the quality of experience (QoE). First, to address the inaccessibility of MAR application-specific information to the network controller, we establish a digital agent powered by large language models (LLMs) on behalf of the MAR service provider, bridging the data and function gap between the MAR service and network domains. Second, to cope with the user-dependent and dynamic nature of data traffic patterns for individual devices, we develop a user-level QoE modeling method that captures the relationship between communication resource demands and perceived user QoE, enabling personalized, agent-driven communication resource management. Trace-driven simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms conventional LLM-based QoE-aware service provisioning methods in both user-level QoE modeling accuracy and communication resource efficiency.

Accelerating LLM Inference Throughput via Asynchronous KV Cache Prefetching

Large Language Models (LLMs) exhibit pronounced memory-bound characteristics during inference due to High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) bandwidth constraints. In this paper, we propose an L2 Cache-oriented asynchronous KV Cache prefetching method to break through the memory bandwidth bottleneck in LLM inference through computation-load overlap. By strategically scheduling idle memory bandwidth during active computation windows, our method proactively prefetches required KV Cache into GPU L2 cache, enabling high-speed L2 cache hits for subsequent accesses and effectively hiding HBM access latency within computational cycles. Extensive experiments on NVIDIA H20 GPUs demonstrate that the proposed method achieves 2.15x improvement in attention kernel efficiency and up to 1.97x end-to-end throughput enhancement, surpassing state-of-the-art baseline FlashAttention-3. Notably, our solution maintains orthogonality to existing optimization techniques and can be integrated with current inference frameworks, providing a scalable latency-hiding solution for next-generation LLM inference engines.

Search potential for direct slepton pair production at the CEPC with $\sqrt{s}$ = 360 GeV

The Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) is designed to operate at the key center-of-mass energies: 91.2 GeV as a Z factory for precision Z boson studies,$\approx$ 160 GeV at the threshold for W boson pair production, and 240 GeV as a Higgs factory for copious Higgs boson production. It can be upgraded to 360 GeV (CEPC-360GeV) for enabling top quark-antiquark ($t\bar{t}$) pair production. Beyond enabling high-precision measurements of the Standard Model (SM), CEPC-360GeV is uniquely position to perform searches for new physics beyond the SM (BSM) physics, serving as a valuable complement to hadron colliders. This paper presents a sensitivity study on the direct pair production of staus and smuons at the CEPC with $\sqrt{s}$ = 360 GeV, conducted via full Monte Carlo (MC) simulation. Under the assumptions of integrated luminosity 1.0 ab^{-1} and a flat 5% systematic uncertainty, CEPC-360GeV could potentially discover the combined production of left-handed and right-handed staus up to a mass of 170 GeV (if they exist), or up to 169 GeV for pure left-handed staus and 162 GeV for pure right-handed staus. For direct smuon production, the discovery potential reaches up to 178 GeV under the same conditions.

Resource-Efficient Generative AI Model Deployment in Mobile Edge Networks

The surging development of Artificial Intelligence-Generated Content (AIGC) marks a transformative era of the content creation and production. Edge servers promise attractive benefits, e.g., reduced service delay and backhaul traffic load, for hosting AIGC services compared to cloud-based solutions. However, the scarcity of available resources on the edge pose significant challenges in deploying generative AI models. In this paper, by characterizing the resource and delay demands of typical generative AI models, we find that the consumption of storage and GPU memory, as well as the model switching delay represented by I/O delay during the preloading phase, are significant and vary across models. These multidimensional coupling factors render it difficult to make efficient edge model deployment decisions. Hence, we present a collaborative edge-cloud framework aiming to properly manage generative AI model deployment on the edge. Specifically, we formulate edge model deployment problem considering heterogeneous features of models as an optimization problem, and propose a model-level decision selection algorithm to solve it. It enables pooled resource sharing and optimizes the trade-off between resource consumption and delay in edge generative AI model deployment. Simulation results validate the efficacy of the proposed algorithm compared with baselines, demonstrating its potential to reduce overall costs by providing feature-aware model deployment decisions.

Joint Model Assignment and Resource Allocation for Cost-Effective Mobile Generative Services

Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) services can efficiently satisfy user-specified content creation demands, but the high computational requirements pose various challenges to supporting mobile users at scale. In this paper, we present our design of an edge-enabled AIGC service provisioning system to properly assign computing tasks of generative models to edge servers, thereby improving overall user experience and reducing content generation latency. Specifically, once the edge server receives user requested task prompts, it dynamically assigns appropriate models and allocates computing resources based on features of each category of prompts. The generated contents are then delivered to users. The key to this system is a proposed probabilistic model assignment approach, which estimates the quality score of generated contents for each prompt based on category labels. Next, we introduce a heuristic algorithm that enables adaptive configuration of both generation steps and resource allocation, according to the various task requests received by each generative model on the edge.Simulation results demonstrate that the designed system can effectively enhance the quality of generated content by up to 4.7% while reducing response delay by up to 39.1% compared to benchmarks.

Physical Layer Security Assisted Computation Offloading in Intelligently Connected Vehicle Networks

In this paper, we propose a secure computation offloading scheme (SCOS) in intelligently connected vehicle (ICV) networks, aiming to minimize overall latency of computing via offloading part of computational tasks to nearby servers in small cell base stations (SBSs), while securing the information delivered during offloading and feedback phases via physical layer security. Existing computation offloading schemes usually neglected time-varying characteristics of channels and their corresponding secrecy rates, resulting in an inappropriate task partition ratio and a large secrecy outage probability. To address these issues, we utilize an ergodic secrecy rate to determine how many tasks are offloaded to the edge, where ergodic secrecy rate represents the average secrecy rate over all realizations in a time-varying wireless channel. Adaptive wiretap code rates are proposed with a secrecy outage constraint to match time-varying wireless channels. In addition, the proposed secure beamforming and artificial noise (AN) schemes can improve the ergodic secrecy rates of uplink and downlink channels even without eavesdropper channel state information (CSI). Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed schemes have a shorter system delay than the strategies neglecting time-varying characteristics.

Deep Reinforcement Learning for Delay-Oriented IoT Task Scheduling in Space-Air-Ground Integrated Network

In this paper, we investigate a computing task scheduling problem in space-air-ground integrated network (SAGIN) for delay-oriented Internet of Things (IoT) services. In the considered scenario, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) collects computing tasks from IoT devices and then makes online offloading decisions, in which the tasks can be processed at the UAV or offloaded to the nearby base station or the remote satellite. Our objective is to design a task scheduling policy that minimizes offloading and computing delay of all tasks given the UAV energy capacity constraint. To this end, we first formulate the online scheduling problem as an energy-constrained Markov decision process (MDP). Then, considering the task arrival dynamics, we develop a novel deep risk-sensitive reinforcement learning algorithm. Specifically, the algorithm evaluates the risk, which measures the energy consumption that exceeds the constraint, for each state and searches the optimal parameter weighing the minimization of delay and risk while learning the optimal policy. Extensive simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can reduce the task processing delay by up to 30% compared to probabilistic configuration methods while satisfying the UAV energy capacity constraint.

Efficient Hybrid Beamforming with Anti-Blockage Design for High-Speed Railway Communications

Future railway is expected to accommodate both train operation services and passenger broadband services. The millimeter wave (mmWave) communication is a promising technology in providing multi-gigabit data rates to onboard users. However, mmWave communications suffer from severe propagation attenuation and vulnerability to blockage, which can be very challenging in high-speed railway (HSR) scenarios. In this paper, we investigate efficient hybrid beamforming (HBF) design for train-to-ground communications. First, we develop a two-stage HBF algorithm in blockage-free scenarios. In the first stage, the minimum mean square error method is adopted for optimal hybrid beamformer design with low complexity and fast convergence; in the second stage, the orthogonal matching pursuit method is utilized to approximately recover the analog and digital beamformers. Second, in blocked scenarios, we design an anti-blockage scheme by adaptively invoking the proposed HBF algorithm, which can efficiently deal with random blockages. Extensive simulation results are presented to show the sum rate performance of the proposed algorithms under various configurations, including transmission power, velocity of the train, blockage probability, etc. It is demonstrated that the proposed anti-blockage algorithm can improve the effective rate by 20% in severely-blocked scenarios while maintaining low outage probability.

Multi-Drone 3D Trajectory Planning and Scheduling in Drone Assisted Radio Access Networks

Drone base station (DBS) is a promising technique to extend wireless connections for uncovered users of terrestrial radio access networks (RAN). To improve user fairness and network performance, in this paper, we design 3D trajectories of multiple DBSs in the drone assisted radio access networks (DA-RAN) where DBSs fly over associated areas of interests (AoIs) and relay communications between the base station (BS) and users in AoIs. We formulate the multi-DBS 3D trajectory planning and scheduling as a mixed integer non-linear programming (MINLP) problem with the objective of minimizing the average DBS-to-user (D2U) pathloss. The 3D trajectory variations in both horizontal and vertical directions, as well as the state-of-the-art DBS-related channel models are considered in the formulation. To address the non-convexity and NP-hardness of the MINLP problem, we first decouple it into multiple integer linear programming (ILP) and quasi-convex sub-problems in which AoI association, D2U communication scheduling, horizontal trajectories and flying heights of DBSs are respectively optimized. Then, we design a multi-DBS 3D trajectory planning and scheduling algorithm to solve the sub-problems iteratively based on the block coordinate descent (BCD) method. A k-means-based initial trajectory generation and a search-based start slot scheduling are considered in the proposed algorithm to improve trajectory design performance and ensure inter-DBS distance constraint, respectively. Extensive simulations are conducted to investigate the impacts of DBS quantity, horizontal speed and initial trajectory on the trajectory planning results. Compared with the static DBS deployment, the proposed trajectory planning can achieve 10-15 dB reduction on average D2U pathloss, and reduce the D2U pathloss standard deviation by 68%, which indicate the improvements of network performance and user fairness.

3D Multi-Drone-Cell Trajectory Design for Efficient IoT Data Collection

Drone cell (DC) is an emerging technique to offer flexible and cost-effective wireless connections to collect Internet-of-things (IoT) data in uncovered areas of terrestrial networks. The flying trajectory of DC significantly impacts the data collection performance. However, designing the trajectory is a challenging issue due to the complicated 3D mobility of DC, unique DC-to-ground (D2G) channel features, limited DC-to-BS (D2B) backhaul link quality, etc. In this paper, we propose a 3D DC trajectory design for the DC-assisted IoT data collection where multiple DCs periodically fly over IoT devices and relay the IoT data to the base stations (BSs). The trajectory design is formulated as a mixed integer non-linear programming (MINLP) problem to minimize the average user-to-DC (U2D) pathloss, considering the state-of-the-art practical D2G channel model. We decouple the MINLP problem into multiple quasi-convex or integer linear programming (ILP) sub-problems, which optimizes the user association, user scheduling, horizontal trajectories and DC flying altitudes of DCs, respectively. Then, a 3D multi-DC trajectory design algorithm is developed to solve the MINLP problem, in which the sub-problems are optimized iteratively through the block coordinate descent (BCD) method. Compared with the static DC deployment, the proposed trajectory design can lower the average U2D pathloss by 10-15 dB, and reduce the standard deviation of U2D pathloss by 56%, which indicates the improvements in both link quality and user fairness.

Vehicular Communication Networks in Automated Driving Era

Embedded with advanced sensors, cameras and processors, the emerging automated driving vehicles are capable of sensing the environment and conducting automobile operation, paving the way to modern intelligent transportation systems (ITS) with high safety and efficiency. On the other hand, vehicular communication networks (VCNs) connect vehicles, infrastructures, clouds, and all other devices with communication modules, whereby vehicles can obtain local and global information to make intelligent operation decisions. Although the sensing-based automated driving technologies and VCNs have been investigated independently, their interactions and mutual benefits are still underdeveloped. In this article, we argue that VCNs have attractive potentials to enhance the on-board sensing-based automated vehicles from different perspectives, such as driving safety, transportation efficiency, as well as customer experiences. A case study is conducted to demonstrate that the traffic jam can be relieved at intersections with automated driving vehicles coordinated with each other through VCNs. Furthermore, we highlight the critical yet interesting issues for future research, based on the specific requirements posed by automated driving on VCNs.

Big Data Driven Vehicular Networks

Vehicular communications networks (VANETs) enable information exchange among vehicles, other end devices and public networks, which plays a key role in road safety/infotainment, intelligent transportation system, and self-driving system. As the vehicular connectivity soars, and new on-road mobile applications and technologies emerge, VANETs are generating an ever-increasing amount of data, requiring fast and reliable transmissions through VANETs. On the other hand, a variety of VANETs related data can be analyzed and utilized to improve the performance of VANETs. In this article, we first review the VANETs technologies to efficiently and reliably transmit the big data. Then, the methods employing big data for studying VANETs characteristics and improving VANETs performance are discussed. Furthermore, we present a case study where machine learning schemes are applied to analyze the VANETs measurement data for efficiently detecting negative communication conditions.
