Integral Formulas for Differential Forms on Weighted Manifolds and Applications

In this paper, we derive a Reilly formula for differential forms on weighted manifolds with nonempty boundary. As an application of this formula, we prove a Poincar\'e-type inequality in the same context and explore several of its consequences. We also present weighted versions of some boundary value problems and obtain new eigenvalue estimates that extend previously known results.

The Buckling and Clamped Plate Problems on Differential Forms

We extend the buckling and clamped-plate problems to the context of differential forms on compact Riemannian manifolds with smooth boundary. We characterize their smallest eigenvalues and prove that, in the case of bounded Euclidean domains, their spectra without multiplicities on forms coincide with the spectra of the corresponding problems on functions. We obtain various estimates involving the first eigenvalues of the mentioned problems and the ones of the Hodge Laplacian with respect to Dirichlet and absolute boundary conditions on forms. These estimates generalize previous ones in the case of functions.

Eventual Ideal Properties of the Riemann-Liouville Analytic Semigroup

In this paper, we revisit the Riemann--Liouville analytic semigroup. In particular, we completely characterize the membership to the Schatten class $S^r$ on $L^2(0,1)$, as well as the membership to the class of nuclear operators on $L^p(0,1)$, $p\geq 1$, and the membership to the ideal of absolutely $r$-summing operators for any $r\geq 1$.

Biharmonic Steklov operator on differential forms

We introduce the biharmonic Steklov problem on differential forms by considering suitable boundary conditions. We characterize its smallest eigenvalue and prove elementary properties of the spectrum. We obtain various estimates for the first eigenvalue, some of which involve eigenvalues of other problems such as the Dirichlet, Neumann, Robin and Steklov ones. Independently, new inequalities relating the eigenvalues of the latter problems are proved.

New eigenvalue estimates involving Bessel functions

Given a compact Riemannian manifold (M n , g) with boundary $\partial$M , we give an estimate for the quotient $\partial$M f d$μ$ g M f d$μ$ g , where f is a smooth positive function defined on M that satisfies some inequality involving the scalar Laplacian. By the mean value lemma established in [37], we provide a differential inequality for f which, under some curvature assumptions, can be interpreted in terms of Bessel functions. As an application of our main result, a direct proof is given of the Faber-Krahn inequalities for Dirichlet and Robin Laplacian. Also, a new estimate is established for the eigenvalues of the Dirac operator that involves a positive root of Bessel function besides the scalar curvature. Independently, we extend the Robin Laplacian on functions to differential forms. We prove that this natural extension defines a self-adjoint and elliptic operator whose spectrum is discrete and consists of positive real eigenvalues. In particular, we characterize its first eigenvalue and provide a lower bound of it in terms of Bessel functions.

Eigenvalue Estimate for the basic Laplacian on manifolds with foliated boundary, part II

In [4], we gave a sharp lower bound for the first eigenvalue of the basic Laplacian acting on basic $1$-forms defined on a compact manifold whose boundary is endowed with a Riemannian flow. In this paper, we extend this result to the case of the first eigenvalue on basic $p$-forms for $p>1$. As in [4], the limiting case allows to characterize the manifold $\mathbb{R} \times B' / Γ$ for some group $Γ$, and where $B'$ denotes the unit closed ball. In particular, we describe the Riemannian product $\mathbb{S}^1\times \mathbb{S}^n$ as the boundary of a manifold.

Eigenvalue Estimate for the basic Laplacian on manifolds with foliated boundary

In this paper, we give a sharp lower bound for the first eigenvalue of the basic Laplacian acting on basic $1$-forms defined on a compact manifold whose boundary is endowed with a Riemannian flow. The limiting case gives rise to a particular geometry of the flow and the boundary. Namely, the flow is a local product and the boundary is $η$-umbilical. This allows to characterize the quotient of $\mathbb R\times B'$ by some group $Γ$ as being the limiting manifold. Here $B'$ denotes the unit closed ball. Finally, we deduce several rigidity results describing the product $\mathbb{S}^1\times \mathbb{S}^n$ as the boundary of a manifold.

Rigidity results for spin manifolds with foliated boundary

In this paper, we consider a compact Riemannian manifold whose boundary is endowed with a Riemannian flow. Under a suitable curvature assumption depending on the O'Neill tensor of the flow, we prove that any solution of the basic Dirac equation is the restriction of a parallel spinor field defined on the whole manifold. As a consequence, we show that the flow is a local product. In particular, in the case where solutions of the basic Dirac equation are given by basic Killing spinors, we characterize the geometry of the manifold and the flow.
