Exploring a cold plasma-2d black hole connection

Using a resonance nonlinear Schrodinger equation as a bridge,we explore a direct connection of cold plasma physics to two-dimensional black holes.Namely,we compute and diagonalize a metric attached to the propagation of magneto-acoustic waves in a cold plasma subject to a transverse magnetic field, and we construct an explicit change of variables by which this metric is transformed exactly to a Jackiw-Teitelbiom black hole metric.

Elliptic function solutions in Jackiw-Teitelboim dilaton gravity

We present a new family of solutions for the Jackiw-Teitelboim model of two-dimensional gravity with a negative cosmological constant. Here, a metric of constant Ricci scalar curvature is constructed, and explicit linearly independent solutions of the corresponding dilaton field equations are determined. The metric is transformed to a black hole metric, and the dilaton solutions are expressed in terms of Jacobi elliptic functions. Using these solutions we compute, for example, Killing vectors for the metric.

Parametric Solution Of Certain Nonlinear Differential Equations In Cosmology II

This paper continues earlier work where an explicit parametrized solution of a particular nonlinear ordinary differential equation was obtained in terms of the Weierstrass elliptic phi-function, sigma function and zeta function -- work which therefore generalized that of G. Lemaitre. Further study of this solution and applications to cosmology are presented.

Parametric solution of certain nonlinear differential equations in cosmology

We obtain in terms of the Weierstrass elliptic $\wp-$function, sigma function, and zeta function an explicit parametrized solution of a particular nonlinear, ordinary differential equation. This equation includes, in special cases, equations that occur in the study of both homogeneous and inhomogeneous cosmological models, and also in the dynamic Bose-Einstein condensates - cosmology correspondence, for example.

A dynamic correspondence between Bose-Einstein condensates and Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker and Bianchi I cosmology with a cosmological constant

In some interesting work of James Lidsey, the dynamics of Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) cosmology with positive curvature and a perfect fluid matter source is shown to be modeled in terms of a time-dependent, harmonically trapped Bose-Einstein condensate. In the present work, we extend this dynamic correspondence to both FLRW and Bianchi I cosmologies in arbitrary dimension, especially when a cosmological constant is present.

A non-linear Schrodinger type formulation of FLRW scalar field cosmology

We show that the Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker equations with scalar field and perfect fluid matter source are equivalent to a suitable non-linear Schrodinger type equation. This provides for an alternate method of obtaining exact solutions of the Einstein field equations for a homogeneous, isotropic universe.

Explicit soliton-black hole correspondence for static configurations

We construct an explicit map that transforms static, generalized sine-Gordon metrics to black hole type metrics. This, in particular, provides for a further description of the Cadoni correspondence (which extends the Gegenberg-Kunstatter correspondence) of soliton solutions and extremal black hole solutions in 2D dilaton gravity.

Remarks on harmonic maps, solitons, and dilaton gravity

Another connection of harmonic maps to gravity is presented. Using 1-soliton and anti-soliton solutions of the sine-Gordon equation, we construct a pair of harmonic maps that we express in terms of a particular dilaton field in Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity. This field satisfies a linearized sine-Gordon equation. We use it also to construct an explicit transformation that relates the corresponding solitonic metric to a two dimensional black hole metric.
