Reflectionless PT-symmetric potentials in the one-dimensional Dirac equation

We study the one-dimensional Dirac equation with local PT-symmetric potentials whose discrete eigenfunctions and continuum asymptotic eigenfunctions are eigenfunctions of the PT operator, too: on these conditions the bound-state spectra are real and the potentials are reflectionless and conserve unitarity in the scattering process. Absence of reflection makes it meaningful to consider also PT-symmetric potentials that do not vanish asymptotically.

Non-local PT-symmetric potentials in the one-dimensional Dirac equation

The Dirac equation in (1+1) dimensions with a non-local PT-symmetric potential of separable type is studied by means of the Green function method: properties of bound and scattering states are derived in full detail and numerical results are shown for a potential kernel of Yamaguchi type, inspired by the treatment of low-energy nucleon-nucleon interaction.

Reconstruction of scalar potentials in two-field cosmological models

We study the procedure of the reconstruction of phantom-scalar field potentials in two-field cosmological models. It is shown that while in the one-field case the chosen cosmological evolution defines uniquely the form of the scalar potential, in the two-field case one has an infinite number of possibilities. The classification of a large class of possible potentials is presented and the dependence of cosmological dynamics on the choice of initial conditions is investigated qualitatively and numerically for two particular models.

Scalar field cosmological models with finite scale factor singularities

We construct a scalar field based cosmological model, possessing a cosmological singularity characterized by a finite value of the cosmological radius and an infinite scalar curvature. Using the methods of the qualitative theory of differential equations, we give a complete description of the cosmological evolutions in the model under consideration. There are four classes of evolutions, two of which have finite lifetimes, while the other two undergo an infinite expansion.

Scattering by PT-symmetric non-local potentials

A general formalism is worked out for the description of one-dimensional scattering by non-local separable potentials and constraints on transmission and reflection coefficients are derived in the cases of P, T, or PT invariance of the Hamiltonian. The case of a solvable Yamaguchi potential is discussed in detail.

Networks of cosmological histories, crossing of the phantom divide line and potentials with cusps

We discuss the phenomenon of the smooth dynamical gravity induced crossing of the phantom divide line in a framework of simple cosmological models where it appears to occur rather naturally, provided the potential of the unique scalar field has some kind of cusp. The behavior of cosmological trajectories in the vicinity of the cusp is studied in some detail and a simple mechanical analogy is presented. The phenomenon of certain complementarity between the smoothness of the spacetime geometry and matter equations of motion is elucidated. We introduce a network of cosmological histories and qualitatively describe some of its properties.

Phantom universe from CPT symmetric QFT

Inspired by the generalization of quantum theory for the case of non-Hermitian Hamiltonians with CPT symmetry, we construct a simple classical cosmological scalar field based model describing a smooth transition from ordinary dark energy to the phantom one.

Smooth dynamical (de)-phantomization of a scalar field in simple cosmological models

Simple scalar field cosmological models are considered describing gravity assisted crossing of the phantom divide line. This crossing or (de)-phantomization characterized by the change of the sign of the kinetic term of the scalar field is smooth and driven dynamically by the Einstein equations. Different cosmological scenarios, including the phantom phase of matter are sketched.

Construction of PT-asymmetric non-Hermitian Hamiltonians with CPT-symmetry

Within CPT-symmetric quantum mechanics the most elementary differential form of the charge operator C is assumed. A closed-form integrability of the related coupled differential self-consistency conditions and a natural embedding of the Hamiltonians in a supersymmetric scheme is achieved. For a particular choice of the interactions the rigorous mathematical consistency of the construction is scrutinized suggesting that quantum systems with non-self-adjoint Hamiltonians may admit probabilistic interpretation even in presence of a manifest breakdown of both T symmetry (i.e., Hermiticity) and PT symmetry.
