Confinement potentials for the study of heavy mesons
We consider a Coulomb potential plus a confinement potential $ A r^ν $ and we study which of the two terms is dominant in the description of quarkonia. We find that in general the term of confinement is dominant, which allows us to understand why such potentials, like Martin's potential, are successful in describing of heavy mesons.
