Thermodynamics of interacting holographic dark energy

The thermodynamics of a scheme of dark matter-dark energy interaction is studied considering a holographic model for the dark energy in a flat Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson- Walker background. We obtain a total entropy rate for a general horizon and we study the Generalized Second Law of Thermodynamics for a cosmological interaction as a free function. Additionally, we discuss two horizons related to the Ricci and Ricci-like model and its effect on an interacting system.

Interacting cosmic fluids and phase transitions under a holographic modeling for dark energy

We discuss the consequences of possible sign changes of the $Q$-function which measures the energy transference between dark energy and dark matter. We investigate this scenario from a holographic perspective to modeling the dark energy by a linear-parametrization of the equation of state parameter denoted by $ω$. By imposing the strong constraint of the second law of thermodynamics, we show that sign changes of $Q$ due to the cosmic evolution imply changes in the temperatures of dark energy and dark matter, respectively. We also discuss the phase transitions, in the past and future, experienced by dark energy and dark matter (or, equivalently, the sign changes of their heat capacities).

Scalar field scattering by a Lifshitz black hole under a non-minimal coupling

We study the behavior of a scalar field under a z = 3 Lifshitz black hole background, in a way that is non-minimally coupled to the gravitational field. A general analytical solution is obtained along with two sets of quasinormal modes associated to different boundary conditions that can be imposed on the scalar field, non-minimal coupling parameter appears explicitly on these solutions. Stability of quasinormal modes can be studied and ensured for both cases. Also, the reflection and absorption coefficients are calculated, as well as the absorption cross section which features an interesting behavior because of being attenuated by terms strongly dependant on the non-minimal coupling. By a suitable change of variables a soliton solution can also be obtained and the stability of the quasinormal modes are studied and ensured.

Crossing the phantom divide with Ricci-like holographic dark energy

We study a holographic model for the dark energy considered recently in the literature which postulates an energy density $ρ\sim R$, where $R$ is the Ricci scalar curvature. We obtain a cosmological scenario that comes from considering two non-interacting fluids along a reasonable Ansatz for the cosmic coincidence parameter. We adjust the involved parameters in the model according to the observational data and we show that the equation of state for the dark energy experience a cross through the -1 barrier. In addition, we find a disagreement in these parameters with respect to an approach from a scalar field theory.

The coincidence problem in the scenario of dark energy interacting with two fluids

A cosmological model of dark energy interacting with dark matter and another general component of the universe is considered. The evolution equations for coincidence parameters r and s, which represent the ratios between the dark energy and the matter and the other cosmic fluid, respectively, are analyzed in terms of the stability of stationary solutions. The obtained general results allow to shed some light on the coincidence problem and in the equations of state of the three interacting fluids, due to the constraints imposes by the stability of the solutions. We found that for an interaction proportional to the sum of the DE density and the third fluid density, the hypothetical fluid must have positive pressure, which leads naturally to a cosmological scenario with radiation, unparticle or even some form of warm DM as the third interacting fluid.

Bare and effective fluid description in brane world cosmology

An effective fluid description, for a brane world model in five dimensions, is discussed for both signs of the brane tension. We found several cosmological scenarios where the effective equation differs widely from the bare equation of state. For universes with negative brane tension, with a bare fluid satisfying the strong energy condition, the effective fluid can cross the barrier $ω_{eff} =-1$.

Holographic dark energy interacting with dark matter in a Closed Universe

A cosmological model of an holographic dark energy interacting with dark matter throughout a decaying term of the form $Q=3(λ_1ρ_{DE} + λ_2ρ_m) H$ is investigated. General constraint on the parameters of the model are found when accelerated expansion is imposed and we found a phantom scenarios, without any reference to a specific equation of state for the dark energy. The behavior of equation of stated for dark energy is also discussed.

Holographic Cosmological Models on the Braneworld

In this article we have studied a closed universe which a holographic energy on the brane whose energy density is described by $ρ(H) =3c^{2}H^{2}$ and we obtain an equation for the Hubble parameter, this equation gave us different physical behavior depending if $c^2>1$ or $c^2<1$ against of the sign of the brane tension.

Dark energy interacting with two fluids

A cosmological model of dark energy interacting with dark matter and another general component of the universe is investigated. We found general constraints on these models imposing an accelerated expansion. The same is also studied in the case for holographic dark energy.

Dissipative generalized Chaplygin gas as phantom dark energy

The generalized Chaplygin gas, characterized by the equation of state $p=-\mathcal{A}/ρ^α$, has been considered as a model for dark energy due its dark-energy-like evolution at late times. When dissipative processes are taken account, within the framework of the standard Eckart theory of relativistic irreversible thermodynamics, cosmological analytical solutions are found. Using the truncated causal version of the Israel-Stewart formalism, a suitable model was constructed which cross the $w=-1$ barrier. The future-singularities encounter in both approaches are of a new type, not included in the classification presented by S. Nojiri, S. D. Odintsov and S. Tsujikawa, Phys. Rev. D71, 063004 (2005).

An accelerated closed universe

We study a model in which a closed universe with dust and quintessence matter components may look like an accelerated flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe at low redshifts. Several quantities relevant to the model are expressed in terms of observed density parameters, $Ω_M$ and $Ω_Λ$, and of the associated density parameter $Ω_Q$ related to the quintessence scalar field $Q$.

Curvature in causal BD-type inflationary cosmology

We study a closed model of the universe filled with viscous fluid and quintessence matter components in a Brans-Dicke type cosmological model. The dynamical equations imply that the universe may look like an accelerated flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe at low redshift. We consider here dissipative processes which follow a causal thermodynamics. The theory is applied to viscous fluid inflation, where accepted values for the total entropy in the observable universe is obtained.
