CPT Symmetries and the Backlund Transformations

We show that the auto-Backlund transformations of the sine-Gordon, Korteweg-deVries, nonlinear Schrodinger, and Ernst equations are related to their respective CPT symmetries. This is shown by applying the CPT symmetries of these equations to the Riccati equations of the corresponding pseudopotential functions where the fields are allowed to transform into new solutions while the pseudopotential functions and the Backlund parameter are held fixed.

BPS States and Vacuum Manifold of SU_q(n) Georgi-Glashow Model

We construct the Georgi-Glashow Lagrangian for gauge group SU_q(n). Breaking this symmetry spontaneously gives q-dependent masses of gauge field and vacuum manifold. It turned out that the vacuum manifold is parameterized by the non-commutative quantities. We showed that the monopole solutions exist in this model, which is indicated by the presence of the BPS states.

Lax Pair Formulation and Multi-soliton Solution of the Integrable Vector Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation

The integrable vector nonlinear Schrodinger (vector NLS) equation is investigated by using Zakharov-Shabat (ZS) scheme. We get a Lax pair formulation of the vector NLS model. Multi-soliton solution of the equation is also derived by using inverse scattering method of ZS scheme. We also find that there is an elastic and inelastic collision of the bright and dark multi-solitons of the system.

Inhomogeneous Burgers Equation and the Feynman-Kac Path Integral

By linearizing the inhomogeneous Burgers equation through the Hopf-Cole transformation, we formulate the solution of the initial value problem of the corresponding linear heat type equation using the Feynman-Kac path integral formalism. For illustration, we present the exact solution for the forcing term of the form: $F(x,t)=ω^2x+f(t).$ We also present the initial value problem solution for the case with a constant forcing term to compare with the known result.
