Algebra properties for Sobolev spaces- Applications to semilinear PDE's on manifolds

In this work, we aim to prove algebra properties for generalized Sobolev spaces $W^{s,p} \cap L^\infty$ on a Riemannian manifold, where $W^{s,p}$ is of Bessel-type $W^{s,p}:=(1+L)^{-s/m}(L^p)$ with an operator $L$ generating a heat semigroup satisfying off-diagonal decays. We don't require any assumption on the gradient of the semigroup. To do that, we propose two different approaches (one by a new kind of paraproducts and another one using functionals). We also give a chain rule and study the action of nonlinearities on these spaces and give applications to semi-linear PDEs. These results are new on Riemannian manifolds (with a non bounded geometry) and even in the Euclidean space for Sobolev spaces associated to second order uniformly elliptic operators in divergence form.

Boundedness of bilinear multipliers whose symbols have a narrow support

This work is devoted to studying the boundedness on Lebesgue spaces of bilinear multipliers on $\R$ whose symbol is narrowly supported around a curve (in the frequency plane). We are looking for the optimal decay rate (depending on the width of this support) for exponents satisfying a sub-Hölder scaling. As expected, the geometry of the curve plays an important role, which is described. This has applications for the bilinear Bochner-Riesz problem (in particular, boundedness of multipliers whose symbol is the characteristic function of a set), as well as for the bilinear restriction-extension problem.

Existence of solutions for second-order differential inclusions involving proximal normal cones

In this work, we prove global existence of solutions for second order differential problems in a general framework. More precisely, we consider second order differential inclusions involving proximal normal cone to a set-valued map. This set-valued map is supposed to take admissible values (so in particular uniformly prox-regular values, which may be non-smooth and non-convex). Moreover we require the solution to satisfy an impact law, appearing in the description of mechanical systems with inelastic shocks.

A T(1)-Theorem in relation to a semigroup of operators and applications to new paraproducts

In this work, we are interested to develop new directions of the famous T(1)-theorem. More precisely, we develop a general framework where we look for replacing the John-Nirenberg space BMO (in the classical result) by a new BMO_{L}, associated to a semigroup of operators (e^{-tL})_{t>0}. These new spaces BMO_L (including BMO) have recently appeared in numerous works in order to extend the theory of Hardy and BMO space to more general situations. Then we give applications by describing boundedness for a new kind of paraproducts, built on the considered semigroup. In addition we obtain a version of the classical T(1) theorem for doubling Riemannian manifolds.

A 2-adic approach of the human respiratory tree

We propose here a general framework to address the question of trace operators on a dyadic tree. This work is motivated by the modeling of the human bronchial tree which, thanks to its regularity, can be extrapolated in a natural way to an infinite resistive tree. The space of pressure fields at bifurcation nodes of this infinite tree can be endowed with a Sobolev space structure, with a semi-norm which measures the instantaneous rate of dissipated energy. We aim at describing the behaviour of finite energy pressure fields near the end. The core of the present approach is an identification of the set of ends with the ring Z_2 of 2-adic integers. Sobolev spaces over Z_2 can be defined in a very natural way by means of Fourier transform, which allows us to establish precised trace theorems which are formally quite similar to those in standard Sobolev spaces, with a Sobolev regularity which depends on the growth rate of resistances, i.e. on geometrical properties of the tree. Furthermore, we exhibit an explicit expression of the "ventilation operator", which maps pressure fields at the end of the tree onto fluxes, in the form of a convolution by a Riesz kernel based on the 2-adic distance.

Abstract Hardy-Sobolev spaces and interpolation

The purpose of this work is to describe an abstract theory of Hardy-Sobolev spaces on doubling Riemannian manifolds via an atomic decomposition. We study the real interpolation of these spaces with Sobolev spaces and finally give applications to Riesz inequalities.

Sobolev space estimates for a class of bilinear pseudodifferential operators lacking symbolic calculus

The reappearance of a sometimes called exotic behavior for linear and multilinear pseudodifferential operators is investigated. The phenomenon is shown to be present in a recently introduced class of bilinear pseudodifferential operators which can be seen as more general variable coefficient counterparts of the bilinear Hilbert transform and other singular bilinear multipliers operators. The unboundedness on product of Lebesgue spaces but the boundedness on spaces of smooth functions (which is the exotic behavior referred to) of such operators is obtained. In addition, by introducing a new way to approximate the product of two functions, estimates on a new paramultiplication are obtained.

Existence results for non-smooth second order differential inclusions, Convergence result for a numerical scheme and applications for modelling inelastic collisions

We are interested in existence results for second order differential inclusions, involving finite number of unilateral constraints in an abstract framework. These constraints are described by a set-valued operator, more precisely a proximal normal cone to a time-dependent set. Moreover we extend a numerical scheme, introduced in [8] and proved a convergence result. We propose applications in modelling inelastic collisions between rigid particles too.

Abstract framework for John Nirenberg inequalities and applications to Hardy spaces

In this paper, we develop an abstract framework for John-Nirenberg inequalities associated to BMO-type spaces. This work can be seen as the sequel of [5], where the authors introduced a very general framework for atomic and molecular Hardy spaces. Moreover, we show that our assumptions allow us to recover some already known John-Nirenberg inequalities. We give applications to the atomic Hardy spaces too.

Stochastic perturbation of sweeping process and a convergence result for an associated numerical scheme

Here we present well-posedness results for first order stochastic differential inclusions, more precisely for sweeping process with a stochastic perturbation. These results are provided in combining both deterministic sweeping process theory and methods concerning the reflection of a Brownian motion. In addition, we prove convergence results for a Euler scheme, discretizing theses stochastic differential inclusions.

Bilinear oscillatory integrals and boundedness for new bilinear multipliers

We consider bilinear oscillatory integrals, i.e. pseudo-product operators whose symbol involves an oscillating factor. Lebesgue space inequalities are established, which give decay as the oscillation becomes stronger ; this extends the well-known linear theory of oscillatory integral in some directions. The proof relies on a combination of time-frequency analysis of Coifman-Meyer type with stationary and non-stationary phase estimates. As a consequence of this analysis, we obtain Lebesgue estimates for new bilinear multipliers defined by non-smooth symbols.

Existence of sweeping process in Banach spaces under directional prox-regularity

This paper is devoted to weaken "classical" assumptions and give new arguments to prove existence of sweeping process (associated to the proximal normal cone of sets). Mainly we define the concept of a "directional prox-regularity" and give assumptions about a Banach space to insure the existence of such sweeping process (which permit to generalize the existing results requiring a Hilbertian structure).

Maximal inequalities for dual Sobolev spaces $W^{-1,p}$ and applications to interpolation

We firstly describe a maximal inequality for dual Sobolev spaces W^{-1,p}. This one corresponds to a "Sobolev version" of usual properties of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator in Lebesgue spaces. Even in the euclidean space, this one seems to be new and we develop arguments in the general framework of Riemannian manifold. Then we present an application to obtain interpolation results for Sobolev spaces.

Lp estimates for non smooth bilinear Littlewood-Paley square functions on R

In this work, some non smooth bilinear analogues of linear Littlewood-Paley square functions on the real line are studied. These bilinear operators are closely related to the bilinear Hilbert transforms and vector valued version of these ones. Mainly we prove boundedness-properties in Lebesgue spaces for them.

A bilinear pseudodifferential calculus

In this paper, we are interested in the construction of a bilinear pseudodifferential calculus. We define some symbolic classes which contains those of Coifman-Meyer. These new classes allow us to consider operators closely related to the bilinear Hilbert transform. We give a description of the action of our bilinear operators on Sobolev spaces. These classes also have a ``nice'' behavior through the transposition and the composition operations that we will present.

Local estimates and global continuities in Lebesgue spaces for bilinear operators

In this paper, we first prove some local estimates for bilinear operators (closely related to the bilinear Hilbert transform and similar singular operators) with truncated symbol. Such estimates, in accordance with the Heisenberg uncertainty principle correspond to a description of ``off-diagonal'' decay. In addition they allow us to prove global continuities in Lebesgue spaces for bilinear operators with spatial dependent symbol.
