Singularity Models of Finite-Time Kähler-Ricci Flows

We study the singularity type and models of the Kähler--Ricci flow on compact manifolds constructed from the 1-parameter foliation of a circle-bundle over a product of Kähler--Einstein manifolds $N := N_1 \times \cdots \times N_r$, with metric constructed using the ansatz considered in \cite{DW2011}, \cite{WW} et. al. In the earlier work \cite{FT} by the authors, we considered the ``two-bolt'' case where both ends of the foliation close with the ``bolt'' $N$. In this article, we continue our work on the more subtle ``nut-bolt'' and ``two-nut'' cases. The former has one end of the interval closes with a nut-type collapse (i.e. $N' := N_2 \times \cdots \times N_r$) and the other with a bolt (i.e. $N$). The compactification $\widehat{M}$ is then a $\mathbb{CP}^{m+1}$-bundle over $N'$. The ``two-nut'' case is one that both ends close with nut-type collapses, necessarily two of the $N_i$'s must be $\mathbb{CP}^{m_0}$ and $\mathbb{CP}^{m_\ell}$, and the compactification $\widehat{M}$ is a $\mathbb{CP}^{m_0+m_\ell+1}$-bundle over $\prod_{k\geq 3}N_k$. We proved that in all ``two-bolt'', ``nut-bolt'' and ``two-nut'' caess the singularity must be of Type I. Furthermore, we study the pointed Cheeger-Gromov limit of the rescaled and dilated sequence of the flow in all of three cases, and prove that the limit model must be $(Σ^{m+1}, g_Σ(t)) \times (\mathbb{C}^{k}, \textrm{flat})$ with $m, k \geq 0$, where $Σ$ is one of the following: $\mathbb{CP}^{m+1}$, $\textrm{Tot}(\mathcal{L}^{\oplus(m+1)})$, or a projectivization $\mathbb{P}\big(\mathcal{O}^{\oplus(m_0+1)} \oplus \mathcal{L}^{\oplus(m_\ell+1)}\big)$ with $m_0 + m_\ell = m$, and $\mathcal{L}$ is a line bundle over the product of \emph{some} of the $N_1, \cdots, N_r$ factors. The metric $g_Σ(t)$ is a Kähler-Ricci shrinker satisfying the circle-bundle ansatz.

Ricci Flow on CP1-bundles over a Product of Kähler-Einstein Manifolds

In this paper, we study the Ricci flow on CP1-bundles over a product of Kähler-Einstein manifolds whose initial metric is constructed by the ansatz used in works by M. Wang et. al. We prove that the ansatz is preserved along the Ricci flow. Furthermore, in the Kähler case, we proved that Type I finite-time singularity must occur under such an ansatz.

A Spinorial Perelman's Functional: Critical Points and Gradient Flow

In this article, we introduce an energy functional on closed Riemannian spin manifolds which unifies Perelman's W- and F-functionals, Baldauf-Ouzch's E-functional, and Dirchlet energy for spinors. We compute its first variation formula, and show that its critical points under natural constraints are twisted Ricci solitons and eigen-spinsors of the weighted Dirac operator. We introduce a negative L^2-gradient flow of this functional, and establish its short-time existence and uniqueness via contraction mapping methods.

Uniqueness and Symmetry of Self-Similar Solutions of Curvature Flows in Warped Product Spaces

In this article, we establish some uniqueness and symmetry results of self-similar solutions to curvature flows by some homogeneous speed functions of principal curvatures in some warped product spaces. In particular, we proved that any compact star-shaped self-similar solution to any parabolic flow with homogeneous degree $-1$ (including the inverse mean curvature flow) in warped product spaces $I \times_ϕ M^n$, where $M^n$ is a compact homogeneous manifold and $ϕ'' \geq 0$, must be a slice. The same result holds for compact self-expanders when the degree of the speed function is greater than $-1$ and with an extra assumption $ϕ' \geq 0$. Furthermore, we also show that any complete non-compact star-shaped, asymptotically concial expanding self-similar solutions to the flow by positive power of mean curvature in hyperbolic and anti-deSitter-Schwarzschild spaces are rotationally symmetric.

Local curvature estimates of long-time solutions to the Kähler-Ricci flow

We study the local curvature estimates of long-time solutions to the normalized Kähler-Ricci flow on compact Kähler manifolds with semi-ample canonical line bundles. Using these estimates, we prove that on such a manifold, the set of singular fibers of the semi-ample fibration on which the Riemann curvature blows up at time-infinity is independent of the choice of the initial Kähler metric. Moreover, when the regular fiber of the semi-ample fibration is not a finite quotient of a torus, we determine the exact curvature blow-up rate of the Kähler-Ricci flow near the regular fiber.

Uniqueness Theorems of Self-Conformal Solutions to Inverse Curvature Flows

It has been known in that round spheres are the only closed homothetic self-similar solutions to the inverse mean curvature flow and parabolic curvature flows by degree -1 homogeneous functions of principle curvatures in the Euclidean space. In this article, we prove that the round sphere is rigid in much stronger sense, that under some natural conditions such as star-shapedness, it is the only closed solution to the inverse mean curavture flow and the above-mentioned flows in the Euclidean space which evolves by diffeomorphisms generated by conformal Killing fields.

Higher-Order Estimates of Long-Time Solutions to the Kähler-Ricci Flow

In this article, we study the higher-order regularity of the Kähler-Ricci flow on compact Kähler manifolds with semi-ample canonical line bundle. We proved, using a parabolic analogue of Hein-Tosatti's work on collapsing Calabi-Yau metrics, that when the generic fibers of the Iitaka fibration are biholomorphic to each other, the flow converges locally smoothly away from singular fibers to a negative Kähler-Einstein metric on the base manifold. In particular, we proved that the Ricci curvature of the flow is uniformly bounded on any compact subsets away from singular fibers when the generic fibers are biholomorphic to each other.

Self-Expanders to Inverse Curvature Flows by Homogeneous Functions

In this paper, we study self-expanding solutions to a large class of parabolic inverse curvature flows by homogeneous symmetric functions of principal curvatures in Euclidean spaces. These flows include the inverse mean curvature flow and many nonlinear flows in the literature. We first show that the only compact self-expanders to any of these flows are round spheres. Secondly, we show that complete non-compact self-expanders to any of these flows with asymptotically cylindrical ends must be rotationally symmetric. Thirdly, we show that when such a flow is uniformly parabolic, there exist complete rotationally symmetric self-expanders which are asymptotic to two round cylinders with different radii. These extend some earlier results of inverse mean curvature flow to a wider class of flows.

Rotational Symmetry of Asymptotically Conical Mean Curvature Flow Self-Expanders

In this article, we examine complete, mean-convex self-expanders for the mean curvature flow whose ends have decaying principal curvatures. We prove a Liouville-type theorem associated to this class of self-expanders. As an application, we show that mean-convex self-expanders which are asymptotic to $O(n)$-invariant cones are rotationally symmetric.

Boltzmann's Entropy and Kähler-Ricci Solitons

We study a Boltzmann's type entropy functional (which appeared in existing literature) defined on Kähler metrics of a fixed Kähler class. The critical points of this functional are gradient Kähler-Ricci solitons, and the functional was known to be monotonically increasing along the Kähler-Ricci flow in the canonical class. In this article, we derive and analyze the second variation formula for this entropy functional, and show that all gradient Kähler-Ricci solitons are stable with respect to this entropy functional. Furthermore, using this result, we give a new proof that gradient shrinking Kähler-Ricci solitons are stable with respect to the Perelman's entropy in a fixed Kähler class.

On 4-Dimensional J-Invariant Shrinking Ricci Solitons

As of today, there are very few known complete shrinking Ricci solitons in dimension 4, and all examples discovered so far are Kähler and/or Einstein. In this note, we prove that any four dimensional J-invariant gradient shrinking Ricci solitons satisfy a differential form identity relating Kählerity annd Einstein-ness.

The Collapsing Rate of the Kähler-Ricci Flow with Regular Infinite Time Singularity

We study the collapsing behavior of the Kaehler-Ricci flow on a compact Kaehler manifold X admitting a holomorphic submersion X -> S coming from its canonical class, where S is a Kaehler manifold with dim S < dim X. We show that the flow metric degenerates at exactly the rate of e^{-t} as predicted by the cohomology information, and so the fibers collapse at the optimal rate diameter ~ e^{-t/2}. Consequently, it leads to some analytic and geometric extensions to the regular case of Song-Tian's works on elliptic and Calabi-Yau fibrations. Its applicability to general Calabi-Yau fibrations with possibly singular fibers will also be discussed in local sense.

Rotational Symmetry of Conical Kähler-Ricci Solitons

We show that expanding Kähler-Ricci solitons which have positive holomorphic bisectional curvature and are asymptotic to Kähler cones at infinity must be the U(n)-rotationally symmetric expanding solitons constructed by Cao.

On the collapsing rate of the Kähler-Ricci flow with finite-time singularity

This short note studies the collapsing behavior of the Kähler-Ricci flow on a compact Kähler manifold X admitting a holomorphic submersion X -> B where B is a Kähler manifold of lower dimension than X. We give cohomological and curvature conditions under which the fibers collapse at the optimal rate ~(T-t)^{1/2}

Kähler-Ricci Flow on Projective Bundles over Kähler-Einstein Manifolds

We study the Kähler-Ricci flow on a class of projective bundles $\mathbb{P}(\mathcal{O}_Σ\oplus L)$ over compact Kähler-Einstein manifold $Σ^n$. Assuming the initial Kähler metric $ω_0$ admits a U(1)-invariant momentum profile, we give a criterion, characterized by the triple $(Σ, L, [ω_0])$, under which the $\mathbb{P}^1$-fiber collapses along the Kähler-Ricci flow and the projective bundle converges to $Σ$ in Gromov-Hausdorff sense. Furthermore, the Kähler-Ricci flow must have Type I singularity and is of $(\C^n \times \mathbb{P}^1)$-type. This generalizes and extends part of Song-Weinkove's work \cite{SgWk09} on Hirzebruch surfaces.
