For a class of piecewise deterministic Markov processes, the supports of the invariant measures are characterized. This is based on the analysis of controllability properties of an associated deterministic control system. Its invariant control sets determine the supports.
Notions of invariance pressure for control systems are introduced based on weights for the control values. The equivalence is shown between inner invariance pressure based on spanning sets of controls and on invariant open covers, respectively. Furthermore, a number of properties of invariance pressure are derived and it is computed for a class of linear systems.
Methods from learning theory are used in the state space of linear dynamical and control systems in order to estimate the system matrices. An application to stabilization via algebraic Riccati equations is included. The approach is illustrated via a series of numerical examples.
We consider a family of linear control systems $\dot{x}=Ax+αBu$ where $α$ belongs to a given class of persistently exciting signals. We seek maximal $α$-uniform stabilisation and destabilisation by means of linear feedbacks $u=Kx$. We extend previous results obtained for bidimensional single-input linear control systems to the general case as follows: if the pair $(A,B)$ verifies a certain Lie bracket generating condition, then the maximal rate of convergence of $(A,B)$ is equal to the maximal rate of divergence of $(-A,-B)$. We also provide more precise results in the general single-input case, where the above result is obtained under the sole assumption of controllability of the pair $(A,B)$.
