RASR: Range-Aware Scale Recovery for Metric UAV Navigation

A central challenge in image-goal UAV navigation under Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) denial is estimating metric distance and heading between current and goal views. Dense pairwise geometry models capture relative scene structure, but without a calibrated metric scale, they cannot directly provide reliable distance estimates for navigation. Although global scale calibration corrects the dominant scale bias, the remaining errors vary systematically with distance. In this paper, Range-Aware Scale Recovery (RASR) is proposed, which complements global scale calibration with range-aware residual correction. RASR encodes pairwise geometry extracted by a frozen Matching And Stereo 3D Reconstruction (MASt3R) backbone as a compact descriptor and separates the scale-recovery core from task-specific command calibration. On the official online evaluation of the UAVs in Multimedia 2026 PairUAV challenge, RASR achieved a total error of 0.003189, achieving a lower total error than global scale calibration alone. The results demonstrate that range-aware residual correction improves metric distance estimation beyond global scale calibration. Sensing-Aided Channel Estimation for Near-Field MIMO ISAC Systems via Cross-Attention Transformer

Near-field integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) can deliver the high spatial resolution and transmission capability with the shared spectrum and hardware. Due to the partial overlap between communication scatterers and radar targets, the sensing information can provide valuable priors to enhance the channel estimation while fusing the two heterogeneous modalities remain challenging. To address this problem, a Cross-Attention Transformer based Channel Estimation Neural Network (CAT-CENet) is developed, which includes a communication pilot branch generating the the Key and Value features and a sensing information branch generating the Query feature. By elaborating the three-module structure, CAT-CENet can focus on features of overlapped targets automatically without need of identifying them in advance. The modality contribution is theoretically analyzed based on the Shapley value to verify the cross-attention gain achieved by CAT-CENet. Simulation results show that CAT-CENet outperforms the state-of-the-art schemes, especially with the higher overlapping proportion, and is robust to the model pruning.

Hierarchical Observe-Orient-Decide-Act Enabled UAV Swarms in Uncertain Environments: Frameworks, Potentials, and Challenges

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarms are increasingly explored for their potentials in various applications such as surveillance, disaster response, and military. However, UAV swarms face significant challenges of implementing effective and rapid decisions under dynamic and uncertain environments. The traditional decision-making frameworks, mainly relying on centralized control and rigid architectures, are limited by their adaptability and scalability especially in complex environments. To overcome these challenges, in this paper, we propose a hierarchical Observe-Orient-Decide-Act (H-OODA) loop based framework for the UAV swarm operation in uncertain environments, which is implemented by embedding the classical OODA loop across the cloud-edge-terminal layers, and leveraging the network function virtualization (NFV) technology to provide flexible and scalable decision-making functions. In addition, based on the proposed H-OODA framework, we joint autonomous decision-making and cooperative control to enhance the adaptability and efficiency of UAV swarms. Furthermore, we present some typical case studies to verify the improvement and efficiency of the proposed framework. Finally, the potential challenges and possible directions are analyzed to provide insights for the future H-OODA enabled UAV swarms.

Blockchain-Enabled Routing for Zero-Trust Low-Altitude Intelligent Networks

Due to the scalability and portability, low-altitude intelligent networks (LAINs) are essential in various fields such as surveillance and disaster rescue. However, in LAINs, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are characterized by the distributed topology and high mobility, thus vulnerable to security threats, which may degrade routing performances for data transmissions. Hence, how to ensure the routing stability and security of LAINs is challenging. In this paper, we focus on the routing with multiple UAV clusters in LAINs. To minimize the damage caused by potential threats, we present the zero-trust architecture with the software-defined perimeter and blockchain techniques to manage the identify and mobility of UAVs. Besides, we formulate the routing problem to optimize the end-to-end (E2E) delay and transmission success ratio (TSR) simultaneously, which is an integer nonlinear programming problem and intractable to solve. Therefore, we reformulate the problem into a decentralized partially observable Markov decision process. We design the multi-agent double deep Q-network-based routing algorithms to solve the problem, empowered by the soft-hierarchical experience replay buffer and prioritized experience replay mechanisms. Finally, extensive simulations are conducted and the numerical results demonstrate that the proposed framework reduces the average E2E delay by 59\% and improves the TSR by 29\% on average compared to benchmarks, while simultaneously enabling faster and more robust identification of low-trust UAVs.

Embodied Intelligent Spectrum Management: A New Paradigm for Dynamic Spectrum Access

Wireless communication is evolving into an agent era, where numerous intelligent agents equipped with perception, reasoning, and interaction capabilities will operate in highly dynamic wireless environments. To complete diverse complex tasks, agent communication will play a critical role, which enables autonomous information exchange with external tools, services, and other agents. This trendy movement will dramatically increase spectrum demand and result in unprecedented challenges for spectrum management. However, current spectrum management paradigms, including static spectrum allocation and intelligent management, lack the flexibility and generalization to accommodate the dynamic and heterogeneous demands of agent communication. The recent advancements in embodied intelligence (EI) bring a promising solution, and this article will provide our vision of an emerging embodied intelligent spectrum management (EISM) paradigm. We start with an architecture for EISM, elaborating its key enabling technologies. Then, a prototype platform is presented to demonstrate the advantages of EISM. Finally, key challenges and open issues are outlined to facilitate future research in this emerging field.

Knowledge-Driven 3D Semantic Spectrum Map: KE-VQ-Transformer Based UAV Semantic Communication and Map Completion

Artificial intelligence (AI)-native three-dimensional (3D) spectrum maps are crucial in spectrum monitoring for intelligent communication networks. However, it is challenging to obtain and transmit 3D spectrum maps in a spectrum-efficient, computation-efficient, and AI-driven manner, especially under complex communication environments and sparse sampling data. In this paper, we consider practical air-to-ground semantic communications for spectrum map completion, where the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) measures the spectrum at spatial points and extracts the spectrum semantics, which are then utilized to complete spectrum maps at the ground device. Since statistical machine learning can easily be misled by superficial data correlations with the lack of interpretability, we propose a novel knowledge-enhanced semantic spectrum map completion framework with two expert knowledge-driven constraints from physical signal propagation models. This framework can capture the real-world physics and avoid getting stuck in the mindset of superficial data distributions. Furthermore, a knowledge-enhanced vector-quantized Transformer (KE-VQ-Transformer) based multi-scale low-complex intelligent completion approach is proposed, where the sparse window is applied to avoid ultra-large 3D attention computation, and the multi-scale design improves the completion performance. The knowledge-enhanced mean square error (KMSE) and root KMSE (RKMSE) are introduced as novel metrics for semantic spectrum map completion that jointly consider the numerical precision and physical consistency with the signal propagation model, based on which a joint offline and online training method is developed with supervised and unsupervised knowledge loss. The simulation demonstrates that our proposed scheme outperforms the state-of-the-art benchmark schemes in terms of RKMSE.

Sensing-enabled Secure Rotatable Array System Enhanced by Multi-Layer Transmitting RIS

Programmable metasurfaces and adjustable antennas are promising technologies. The security of a rotatable array system is investigated in this paper. A dual-base-station (BS) architecture is adopted, in which the BSs collaboratively perform integrated sensing of the eavesdropper (the target) and communication tasks. To address the security challenge when the sensing target is located on the main communication link, the problem of maximizing the secrecy rate (SR) under sensing signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio requirements and discrete constraints is formulated. This problem involves the joint optimization of the array pose, the antenna distribution on the array surface, the multi-layer transmitting RIS phase matrices, and the beamforming matrices, which is non-convex. To solve this challenge, an two-stage online algorithm based on the generalized Rayleigh quotient and an offline algorithm based on the Multi-Agent Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient are proposed. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms. Compared to conventional schemes without array pose adjustment, the proposed approach achieves approximately 22\% improvement in SR. Furthermore, array rotation provides higher performance gains than position changes.

RaLD: Generating High-Resolution 3D Radar Point Clouds with Latent Diffusion

Millimeter-wave radar offers a promising sensing modality for autonomous systems thanks to its robustness in adverse conditions and low cost. However, its utility is significantly limited by the sparsity and low resolution of radar point clouds, which poses challenges for tasks requiring dense and accurate 3D perception. Despite that recent efforts have shown great potential by exploring generative approaches to address this issue, they often rely on dense voxel representations that are inefficient and struggle to preserve structural detail. To fill this gap, we make the key observation that latent diffusion models (LDMs), though successful in other modalities, have not been effectively leveraged for radar-based 3D generation due to a lack of compatible representations and conditioning strategies. We introduce RaLD, a framework that bridges this gap by integrating scene-level frustum-based LiDAR autoencoding, order-invariant latent representations, and direct radar spectrum conditioning. These insights lead to a more compact and expressive generation process. Experiments show that RaLD produces dense and accurate 3D point clouds from raw radar spectrums, offering a promising solution for robust perception in challenging environments.

Distributed Multi-Task Learning for Joint Wireless Signal Enhancement and Recognition

Wireless signal recognition (WSR) is crucial in modern and future wireless communication networks since it aims to identify the properties of the received signal in a no-collaborative manner. However, it is challenging to accurately classify signals in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions and distributed network settings. In this paper, we propose a novel distributed multi-task learning framework for joint wireless signal enhancement and recognition (WSER), addressing the crucial need for non-collaborative signal identification in modern wireless networks. Our approach integrates a wireless signal enhancement and recognition network (WSERNet) with FedProx+, an enhanced federated learning algorithm designed for heterogeneous data distributions. Specifically, WSERNet leverages an asymmetric convolution block (ACBlock) to capture long-range dependencies in the input signal and improve the performance of the deep learning model. FedProx+ introduces a proximal term to the loss function to encourage the model updates to be closer to the previous model, enhancing the convergence speed and robustness of federated learning. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework for joint WSER, achieving superior performance compared to state-of-the-art methods under both centralized and distributed settings including independent and identically distributed (IID) and non-IID data distributions.

Explainable Deep Learning Based Adversarial Defense for Automatic Modulation Classification

Deep learning (DL) has been widely applied to enhance automatic modulation classification (AMC). However, the elaborate AMC neural networks are susceptible to various adversarial attacks, which are challenging to handle due to the generalization capability and computational cost. In this article, an explainable DL based defense scheme, called SHapley Additive exPlanation enhanced Adversarial Fine-Tuning (SHAP-AFT), is developed in the perspective of disclosing the attacking impact on the AMC network. By introducing the concept of cognitive negative information, the motivation of using SHAP for defense is theoretically analyzed first. The proposed scheme includes three stages, i.e., the attack detection, the information importance evaluation, and the AFT. The first stage indicates the existence of the attack. The second stage evaluates contributions of the received data and removes those data positions using negative Shapley values corresponding to the dominating negative information caused by the attack. Then the AMC network is fine-tuned based on adversarial adaptation samples using the refined received data pattern. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the Shapley value as the key indicator as well as the superior defense performance of the proposed SHAP-AFT scheme in face of different attack types and intensities.

Synergetic Empowerment: Wireless Communications Meets Embodied Intelligence

Wireless communication is evolving into an agent era, where large-scale agents with inherent embodied intelligence are not just users but active participants. The perfect combination of wireless communication and embodied intelligence can achieve a synergetic empowerment and greatly facilitate the development of agent communication. An overview of this synergetic empowerment is presented, framing it as a co-evolutionary process that transforms wireless communication from a simple utility into the digital nervous system of a collective intelligence, while simultaneously elevating isolated agents into a unified superorganism with emergent capabilities far exceeding individual contributions. Moreover, we elaborate how embodied intelligence and wireless communication mutually benefit each other through the lens of the perception-cognition-execution (PCE) loop, revealing a fundamental duality where each PCE stage both challenges network capacity and creates unprecedented opportunities for system-wide optimization. Furthermore, critical open issues and future research directions are identified.

SpectrumFM: Redefining Spectrum Cognition via Foundation Modeling

The enhancement of spectrum efficiency and the realization of secure spectrum utilization are critically dependent on spectrum cognition. However, existing spectrum cognition methods often exhibit limited generalization and suboptimal accuracy when deployed across diverse spectrum environments and tasks. To overcome these challenges, we propose a spectrum foundation model, termed SpectrumFM, which provides a new paradigm for spectrum cognition. An innovative spectrum encoder that exploits the convolutional neural networks and the multi-head self attention mechanisms is proposed to effectively capture both fine-grained local signal structures and high-level global dependencies in the spectrum data. To enhance its adaptability, two novel self-supervised learning tasks, namely masked reconstruction and next-slot signal prediction, are developed for pre-training SpectrumFM, enabling the model to learn rich and transferable representations. Furthermore, low-rank adaptation (LoRA) parameter-efficient fine-tuning is exploited to enable SpectrumFM to seamlessly adapt to various downstream spectrum cognition tasks, including spectrum sensing (SS), anomaly detection (AD), and wireless technology classification (WTC). Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of SpectrumFM over state-of-the-art methods. Specifically, it improves detection probability in the SS task by 30% at -4 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), boosts the area under the curve (AUC) in the AD task by over 10%, and enhances WTC accuracy by 9.6%.

Joint Resource Optimization Over Licensed and Unlicensed Spectrum in Spectrum Sharing UAV Networks Against Jamming Attacks

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communication is of crucial importance in realizing heterogeneous practical wireless application scenarios. However, the densely populated users and diverse services with high data rate demands has triggered an increasing scarcity of UAV spectrum utilization. To tackle this problem, it is promising to incorporate the underutilized unlicensed spectrum with the licensed spectrum to boost network capacity. However, the openness of unlicensed spectrum makes UAVs susceptible to security threats from potential jammers. Therefore, a spectrum sharing UAV network coexisting with licensed cellular network and unlicensed Wi-Fi network is considered with the anti-jamming technique in this paper. The sum rate maximization of the secondary network is studied by jointly optimizing the transmit power, subchannel allocation, and UAV trajectory. We first decompose the challenging non-convex problem into two subproblems, 1) the joint power and subchannel allocation and 2) UAV trajectory design subproblems. A low-complexity iterative algorithm is proposed in a alternating optimization manner over these two subproblems to solve the formulated problem. Specifically, the Lagrange dual decomposition is exploited to jointly optimize the transmit power and subchannel allocation iteratively. Then, an efficient iterative algorithm capitalizing on successive convex approximation is designed to get a suboptimal solution for UAV trajectory. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed algorithm can significantly improve the sum transmission rate compared with the benchmark schemes.

A Federated Learning-based Lightweight Network with Zero Trust for UAV Authentication

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are increasingly being integrated into next-generation networks to enhance communication coverage and network capacity. However, the dynamic and mobile nature of UAVs poses significant security challenges, including jamming, eavesdropping, and cyber-attacks. To address these security challenges, this paper proposes a federated learning-based lightweight network with zero trust for enhancing the security of UAV networks. A novel lightweight spectrogram network is proposed for UAV authentication and rejection, which can effectively authenticate and reject UAVs based on spectrograms. Experiments highlight LSNet's superior performance in identifying both known and unknown UAV classes, demonstrating significant improvements over existing benchmarks in terms of accuracy, model compactness, and storage requirements. Notably, LSNet achieves an accuracy of over $80\%$ for known UAV types and an Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristic (AUROC) of $0.7$ for unknown types when trained with all five clients. Further analyses explore the impact of varying the number of clients and the presence of unknown UAVs, reinforcing the practical applicability and effectiveness of our proposed framework in real-world FL scenarios.

Knowledge Graph-Based Explainable and Generalized Zero-Shot Semantic Communications

Data-driven semantic communication is based on superficial statistical patterns, thereby lacking interpretability and generalization, especially for applications with the presence of unseen data. To address these challenges, we propose a novel knowledge graph-enhanced zero-shot semantic communication (KGZS-SC) network. Guided by the structured semantic information from a knowledge graph-based semantic knowledge base (KG-SKB), our scheme provides generalized semantic representations and enables reasoning for unseen cases. Specifically, the KG-SKB aligns the semantic features in a shared category semantics embedding space and enhances the generalization ability of the transmitter through aligned semantic features, thus reducing communication overhead by selectively transmitting compact visual semantics. At the receiver, zero-shot learning (ZSL) is leveraged to enable direct classification for unseen cases without the demand for retraining or additional computational overhead, thereby enhancing the adaptability and efficiency of the classification process in dynamic or resource-constrained environments. The simulation results conducted on the APY datasets show that the proposed KGZS-SC network exhibits robust generalization and significantly outperforms existing SC frameworks in classifying unseen categories across a range of SNR levels.

Multi-Branch DNN and CRLB-Ratio-Weight Fusion for Enhanced DOA Sensing via a Massive H$^2$AD MIMO Receiver

As a green MIMO structure, massive H$^2$AD is viewed as a potential technology for the future 6G wireless network. For such a structure, it is a challenging task to design a low-complexity and high-performance fusion of target direction values sensed by different sub-array groups with fewer use of prior knowledge. To address this issue, a lightweight Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB)-ratio-weight fusion (WF) method is proposed, which approximates inverse CRLB of each subarray using antenna number reciprocals to eliminate real-time CRLB computation. This reduces complexity and prior knowledge dependence while preserving fusion performance. Moreover, a multi-branch deep neural network (MBDNN) is constructed to further enhance direction-of-arrival (DOA) sensing by leveraging candidate angles from multiple subarrays. The subarray-specific branch networks are integrated with a shared regression module to effectively eliminate pseudo-solutions and fuse true angles. Simulation results show that the proposed CRLB-ratio-WF method achieves DOA sensing performance comparable to CRLB-based methods, while significantly reducing the reliance on prior knowledge. More notably, the proposed MBDNN has superior performance in low-SNR ranges. At SNR $= -15$ dB, it achieves an order-of-magnitude improvement in estimation accuracy compared to CRLB-ratio-WF method.
