Giga-Embeddings: Mixture-of-Experts Encoders for High-Throughput Text Embeddings

We introduce Giga-Embeddings, a family of text embedding models designed to combine strong retrieval quality with efficient serving. Its largest member is a sparse 10B-parameter Mixture-of-Experts encoder with approximately 1.8B active parameters per token. Across English, Russian, multilingual, and code MTEB benchmarks, this model achieves the strongest aggregate performance within the family on all four evaluated suites. In our vLLM benchmark with 1024-token inputs, it processes 114.5k tokens per second, providing 25 percent higher throughput than the dense 3B model and 1.56-2.65x the throughput of the evaluated external systems. The family also includes a dense 3B encoder and a distilled 480M encoder for tighter compute and memory budgets. We train the compact model using a dimension-agnostic objective that aligns teacher and student similarity distributions. The resulting 480M model scores 70.98 on Russian MTEB, surpassing FRIDA while using 42 percent fewer parameters. We release all three model checkpoints.

GigaAM Multilingual: Foundation Model for Underrepresented Languages

Despite recent scaling successes, multilingual ASR performance remains highly uneven, with long-tail languages suffering from severe data scarcity. This work addresses the challenge of building robust foundation models for underrepresented Central Asian languages (Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek). We present GigaAM Multilingual, a Conformer encoder pre-trained on 2M hours of audio using a HuBERT-style objective. Crucially, we introduce a cluster-level data balancing strategy during pre-training and a domain-aware sampling method during fine-tuning to mitigate head-language dominance. In controlled comparisons, our approach outperforms strong open pretrained encoders (Whisper Large v3, Omnilingual-1B) on target languages, achieving significant gains on spontaneous speech while maintaining efficiency. We release the foundation encoder and ASR model, offering a proven recipe for effective multilingual adaptation under realistic data imbalance.

GigaChat Audio: Time-aware Large Audio Language Model

Temporal grounding in long recordings remains challenging for audio-conditioned LLMs. We present a time-aware audio LLM that answers questions with explicit timestamps over up to 120 minutes of input. Our approach interleaves periodic time markers with continuous audio tokens using large-scale synthetic supervision from a cascaded pipeline. Our model achieves strong temporal-grounding accuracy on short and long benchmarks and supports time-anchored fragment descriptions and summaries. Extensive ablations examine how time representation, marker frequency, tokenization, and duration-mixture design affect accuracy and computational cost. We release model weights and datasets to support further research on time-aware audio understanding, available at https://huggingface.co/ai-sage/GigaChat3.1-Audio-10B-A1.8B.

GigaEmbeddings: Efficient Russian Language Embedding Model

We introduce GigaEmbeddings, a novel framework for training high-performance Russian-focused text embeddings through hierarchical instruction tuning of the decoder-only LLM designed specifically for Russian language (GigaChat-3B). Our three-stage pipeline, comprising large-scale contrastive pre-training in web-scale corpora, fine-tuning with hard negatives, and multitask generalization across retrieval, classification, and clustering tasks, addresses key limitations of existing methods by unifying diverse objectives and leveraging synthetic data generation. Architectural innovations include bidirectional attention for contextual modeling, latent attention pooling for robust sequence aggregation, and strategic pruning of 25% of transformer layers to enhance efficiency without compromising performance. Evaluated on the ruMTEB benchmark spanning 23 multilingual tasks, GigaEmbeddings achieves state-of-the-art results (69.1 avg. score), outperforming strong baselines with a larger number of parameters.

GigaAM: Efficient Self-Supervised Learner for Speech Recognition

Self-Supervised Learning (SSL) has demonstrated strong performance in speech processing, particularly in automatic speech recognition. In this paper, we explore an SSL pretraining framework that leverages masked language modeling with targets derived from a speech recognition model. We also present chunkwise attention with dynamic chunk size sampling during pretraining to enable both full-context and streaming fine-tuning. Our experiments examine scaling with respect to model size and the amount of data. Using our method, we train the GigaAM family of models, including a state-of-the-art model for Russian speech recognition that outperforms Whisper-large-v3 by 50%. We have released our foundation and ASR models, along with the inference code, under the MIT license as open-source resources to the research community. Large Raw Emotional Dataset with Aggregation Mechanism

We present a new data set for speech emotion recognition (SER) tasks called Dusha. The corpus contains approximately 350 hours of data, more than 300 000 audio recordings with Russian speech and their transcripts. Therefore it is the biggest open bi-modal data collection for SER task nowadays. It is annotated using a crowd-sourcing platform and includes two subsets: acted and real-life. Acted subset has a more balanced class distribution than the unbalanced real-life part consisting of audio podcasts. So the first one is suitable for model pre-training, and the second is elaborated for fine-tuning purposes, model approbation, and validation. This paper describes pre-processing routine, annotation, and experiment with a baseline model to demonstrate some actual metrics which could be obtained with the Dusha data set.
