Stationary scalar clouds, quasinormal ringing, and observational signatures of (near-)extremal rotating Kalb-Ramond black holes: from the superradiant threshold to EHT bounds

We study a massive scalar field on the rotating Kalb-Ramond black hole of Kumar, Ghosh and Wang, in the (near-)extremal corner of its three-parameter family $(a,γ,λ)$. We verify by direct substitution that the Klein-Gordon-Fock equation separates on this background, with radial and angular separation constants related by $Λ_{rad}=Λ_{ang}+a^2ω^2-2amω$. At exact extremality the horizon polynomial and the function $K(r)$ share a zero, rendering $K^2/Δ$ regular there and reducing the radial problem to Whittaker form on the Kerr line $(γ=0)$ and the Kerr-Newman line $(λ=1)$. The stationary resonances saturate $ω=mΩ_H$ and satisfy the bound-state condition $μ>mΩ_H$, with overtones accumulating at the threshold from above; in the genuinely Kalb-Ramond interior we solve the exact radial equation as a two-point boundary value problem. Moving off extremality, the clouds continue onto the co-rotating zero-damped branch $ω_n=mΩ_H-iκ(n+1/2+β)$, governed by the same near-horizon exponent $β$; the photon-sphere family is a distinct observable. Greybody factors and superradiant amplification are obtained by direct integration, recovering the classical scalar amplification on Kerr. Strong-field lensing is treated in the Bozza-Tsukamoto limit with rotating photon orbits of both senses, where the prograde logarithmic coefficient departs strongly from its Schwarzschild value. The shadow contour follows from the Carter-Hamilton-Jacobi separation. Crossing the Event Horizon Telescope window of Zubair, Raza and Maqsood with the cloud-existence region yields a narrower bound on the Lorentz-violating parameters $(γ,λ)$ than either constraint alone.

Scalar Clouds and Quasinormal Modes

In this thesis, Maggiore's method (MM), which evaluates the transition frequency that appears in the adiabatic invariant from the highly damped quasinormal mode frequencies (QNMFs), is used to investigate the entropy and area spectra of the Garfinkle-Horowitz-Strominger black hole (GHSBH), the four-dimensional Lifshitz black hole with zero dynamical exponent (ZZLBH), and the rotating linear dilaton black hole (RLDBH), respectively. For studying the GHSBH's quantization, instead of ordinary quasinormal modes (QNMs), the boxed QNMs (BQNMs) that are the characteristic resonance spectra of the confined scalar fields in the GHSBH geometry are computed. To this end, it is assumed that the GHSBH has a confining mirror placed in the vicinity of its event horizon. It is then shown how the complex resonance frequencies of this caged black hole (BH) are computed considering the scalar perturbations around the event horizon. Additionally, the resonance modes (RMs) and the RM frequencies (RMFs) of the GHSBH are computed by using the confined scalar waves with high azimuthal quantum number. The entropy and area quantizations are shown to be independent of the GHSBH's parameters, however, both spectra are equally spaced.

Spectroscopy of Stringy Black Hole

The Maggiore's method, which evaluates the transition frequency that appears in the adiabatic invariant from the highly damped modes, is used to investigate the entropy/area spectra of the Garfinkle-Horowitz-Strominger black hole (GHS-BH). We compute the resonance modes of the GHS-BH by using the confined scalar waves having high azimuthal quantum number. Although the area and entropy are characterized by the GHS-BH parameters, their quantizations are shown to be independent of those parameters. However, both spectra are equally spaced.

Fermion Clouds Around $z=0$ Lifshitz Black Holes

The Dirac equation is solved in the $z=0$ Lifshitz black hole ($Z0$LBH) spacetime. The set of equations representing the Dirac equation in the Newman-Penrose (NP) formalism is decoupled into a radial set and an angular set. The separation constant is obtained with the aid of the spin weighted spheroidal harmonics. The radial set of equations, which is independent of mass, is reduced to Zerilli equations (ZEs)\ with their associated potentials. In the near horizon (NH) region, these equations solved in terms of the Bessel functions of the first and second kinds arising from the fermionic perturbation on the background geometry. For computing the BQNMs instead of the ordinary quasinormal modes (QNMs), we first impose the purely ingoing wave condition at the event horizon. And then, Dirichlet boundary condition (DBC) and Newmann boundary condition (NBC) are applied in order to get the resonance conditions. For solving the resonance conditions we follow an iteration method. Finally, Maggiore's method (MM) is employed to derive the entropy/area spectra of the $Z0$LBH which are shown to be equidistant.
