The neutral Higgs self-couplings in the (h)MSSM

We consider the Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model in the regime where the supersymmetric breaking scale is extermely large. In this MSSM, not only the Higgs masses will be affected by large radiative corrections, the dominant part of which is provided by the third generation quark/squark sector, but also the various self-couplings among the Higgs states. In this note, assuming that squarks are extremely heavy, we evaluate the next-to-leading order radiative corrections to the two neutral CP-even Higgs self-couplings $λ_{H h h}$ and $λ_{h h h}$ and to the partial decay width $Γ(H \to h h)$ that are most relevant at the LHC. The calculation is performed using an effective field theory approach that resums the large logarithmic squark contributions and allows to keep under control the perturbative expansion. Since the direct loop vertex corrections are generally missing in this effective approach, we have properly renormalised the effective theory to take them into account. Finally, we perform a comparison of the results in this effective MSSM with those obtained in a much simpler way in the so-called hMSSM approach in which the mass value for the lightest Higgs boson $M_{h}=125$ GeV is used as an input. We show that the hMSSM provides a reasonably good approximation of the corrected self-couplings and $H \to hh$ decay rate and, hence, it can be used also in these cases.

One-loop renormalisation of the NMSSM in SloopS 2: the Higgs sector

We present a full one-loop renormalisation of the Higgs sector of the Next-to-Minimal- Supersymmetric-Standard-Model (NMSSM) and its implementation within SloopS, a code for the automated computations of one-loop processes in theories beyond the Stan- dard Model. The present work is the sequel to the study we performed on the renor- malisation of the sectors of the NMSSM comprising neutralinos, charginos and sfermions thereby completing the full one-loop renormalisation of the NMSSM. We have investi- gated several renormalisation schemes based on alternative choices (on-shell or DR) of the physical parameters. Special attention is paid to the issue of the mixing between physical fields. To weigh the impact of the different renormalisation schemes, the partial widths for the decays of the Higgs bosons into supersymmetric particles are computed at one-loop. In many decays large differences between the schemes are found. We discuss the origin of these differences. In particular we study two contrasting scenarios. The first model is MSSM-like with a small value for the mixing between the doublet and sin- glet Higgs superfields while the second model has a moderate value for this mixing. We critically discuss the issue of the reconstruction of the underlying parameters and their counterterms in the case of a theory with a large number of parameters, such as the NMSSM, from a set of physical parameters. In the present study this set corresponds to the minimum set of masses for the implementation of the on-shell schemes.

Heavy to light Higgs boson decays at NLO in the Singlet Extension of the Standard Model

We study the decay of a heavy Higgs boson into a light Higgs pair at one loop in the singlet extension of the Standard Model. To this purpose, we construct several renormalization schemes for the extended Higgs sector of the model. We apply these schemes to calculate the heavy-to-light Higgs decay width at next-to-leading order electroweak accuracy, and demonstrate that certain prescriptions lead to gauge-dependent results. We comprehensively examine how the NLO predictions depend on the relevant singlet model parameters, with emphasis on the trademark behavior of the quantum effects, and how these change under different renormalization schemes and a variable renormalization scale. Once all present constraints on the model are included, we find mild NLO corrections, typically of few percent, and with small theoretical uncertainties.

One-loop renormalisation of the NMSSM in SloopS : 1. the neutralino-chargino and sfermion sectors

We have completed the one-loop renormalisation of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) allowing for and comparing between different renormalisation schemes. A special attention is paid to on-shell schemes. We study a variety of these schemes based on alternative choices of the physical input parameters. In this paper we present our approach to the renormalisation of the NMSSM and report on our results for the neutralino-chargino and sfermion sectors. We will borrow some results from our study of the Higgs sector whose full discussion is left for a separate publication. We have implemented the set up for all the sectors of the NMSSM within \sloops, a code for the automatic computation of one-loop corrections initially developed for the standard model and the MSSM. Among the many applications that allows the code, we present here the one-loop corrections to neutralino masses and to partial widths of neutralinos and charginos into final states with one gauge boson. One-loop electroweak and QCD corrections to the partial widths of third generation sfermions into a fermion and a chargino or a neutralino are also computed.

Revisiting LHC gluino mass bounds through radiative decays using MadAnalysis 5

The ATLAS and CMS experiments at the CERN LHC have collected about 25 inverse femtobarns (fb) of data each at the end of their 8 TeV run, and ruled out a huge swath of parameter space in the context of Minimally Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). Limits on masses of the gluino have been pushed to above 1 TeV. These limits are however extremely model dependent and do not always reflect the level of exclusion. So far the limits on the gluino mass using the simplified model approach only constrained its value using its three-body decays. We show in this work that already existing ATLAS and CMS analysis can also constrain the radiative gluino decay mode and we derived improved mass limits in particular when the mass difference between the LSP and the gluino is small.

Boosting Higgs decays into gamma and a Z in the NMSSM

In this work we present the computation of the Higgs decay into a photon and a $Z^0$ boson at one-loop level in the framework of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). The numerical evaluation of this decay width was performed within the framework of the SloopS code, orginally developped for the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) but which was recently extended to deal with the NMSSM. Thanks to the high level of automation of SloopS all contributions from the various sector of the NMSSM are consistently taken into account, in particular the non-diagonal chargino and sfermion contributions. We then explored the NMSSM parameter space, using HiggsBounds and HiggsSignals, to investigate to which extent these signal can be enhanced.

Analysis of the Higgs potentials for two doublets and a singlet

We consider the most general CP-conserving renormalizable effective scalar potential involving two doublets plus one singlet Higgs and satisfying the electroweak gauge symmetry. After deriving the electroweak-symmetry breaking conditions, we focus on special cases, characterized by specific symmetry properties and/or relations to supersymmetry-inspired extensions of the Standard Model (e.g. n/NMSSM, UMSSM). We then investigate the question of the reconstruction of the potential parameters from the Higgs masses and mixing angles and show that in some specific cases, such as the one of an underlying NMSSM, an accuracy at the order of leading-logarithms is achievable with minimal effort. We finally study a few phenomenological consequences for this latter model. More specifically, we consider how our parameter reconstruction modifies the outcome of two publicly available codes : micrOMEGAs and NMSSMTools. We observed noteworthy effects in regions of parameter space where Higgs-to-Higgs decays are relevant, impacting the collider searches for light Higgs states and the prediction of the Dark-Matter relic density.

Loop-induced photon spectral lines from neutralino annihilation in the NMSSM

We have computed the loop-induced processes of neutralino annihilation into two photons and, for the first time, into a photon and a Z boson in the framework of the NMSSM. The photons produced from these radiative modes are monochromatic and possess a clear "smoking gun" experimental signature. This numerical analysis has been done with the help of the SloopS code, initially developed for automatic one-loop calculation in the MSSM. We have computed the rates for different benchmark points coming from SUGRA and GMSB soft SUSY breaking scenarios and compared them with the MSSM. We comment on how this signal can be enhanced, with respect to the MSSM, especially in the low mass region of the neutralino. We also discuss the possibility of this observable to constrain the NMSSM parameter space, taking into account the latest limits from the FERMI collaboration on these two modes.

Relic density at one-loop with gauge boson pair production

We have computed the full one-loop corrections (electroweak as well as QCD) to processes contributing to the relic density of dark matter in the MSSM where the LSP is the lightest neutralino. We cover scenarios where the most important channels are those with gauge boson pair production. This includes the case of a bino with some wino admixture, a higgsino and a wino. In this paper we specialise to the case of light dark matter much below the TeV scale. The corrections can have a non-negligible impact on the predictions and should be taken into account in view of the present and forthcoming increasing precision on the relic density measurements. Our calculations are made with the help of \SloopS, an automatic tool for the calculation of one-loop processes in the MSSM. The renormalisation scheme dependence of the results as concerns $\tgb$ is studied.

Coannihilation with a chargino and gauge boson pair production at one-loop

We present a complete calculation of the electroweak one-loop corrections to the relic density within the MSSM framework. In the context of the neutralino as dark matter candidate, we review different scenarios of annihilation and coannihilation with a chargino. In particular we investigate predictions for the annihilation into gauge boson pairs for different kinds of neutralino: bino-, wino- and higgsino-like. We present some interesting effects which are not present at tree-level and show up at one-loop. To deal with the large number of diagrams occuring in the calculations, we have developed an automatic tool for the computation at one-loop of any process in the MSSM. We have implemented a complete on-shell gauge invariant renormalization scheme, with the possibility of switching to other schemes. We emphasize the variations due to the choice of the renormalization scheme, in particular the one-loop definition of the parameter tan(beta).
