Remark on the additivity conjecture for the quantum depolarizing channel

We consider bistochastic quantum channels generated by unitary representations of the discret group. The proof of the additivity conjecture for the quantum depolarizing channel $Φ$ based on the decreasing property of the relative entropy is given. We show that the additivity conjecture is true for the channel $Ξ=Ψ\circ Φ$, where $Ψ$ is the phase damping.

Quantum probability measures and tomographic probability densities

Introduced recently approach based on tomographic probability distribution of quantum states is shown to be closely related with the known notion of the quantum probability measures discussed in quantum information theory and positive operator valued measures approach. Partial derivative of the distribution function of quantum probability measure associated with the homodyne quadrature (symplectic quantum measure) is shown to be equal the tomogram of the quantum state. Analogous relation of the spin tomogram to quantum probability measure associated with spin state is obtained. Star-product of symplectic quantum measures is studied. Evolution equation for symplectic quantum measures is derived.

KMS States on the Square of White Noise Algebra

It was shown in [AFS00] that there are only three types of irreducible unitary representations theta of sl_2. Using the Schurmann triple one can associate with each theta a number of representations of the square of white noise (SWN) algebra A. However, in analogy with the Boson, Fermion and q-deformed case, we expect that some interesting non irreducible representations of sl_2 may result in GNS representations of KMS states associated with some evolutions on A. In the present paper determine the structure of the *--endomorphisms of the SWN algebra, induced by linear maps in the 1--particle Hilbert algebra, we introduce the SWN analogue of the quasifree evolutions and find the explicit form of the KMS states associated with some of them.

On Markovian Cocycle Perturbations in Classical and Quantum Probability

We introduce Markovian cocycle perturbations of the groups of transformations associated with the classical and quantum stochastic processes with stationary increments, which are characterized by a localization of the perturbation to the algebra of events of the past. It is namely the definition one needs because the Markovian perturbations of the Kolmogorov flows associated with the classical and quantum noises result in the perturbed group of transformations which can be decomposed in the sum of a part associated with deterministic stochastic processes lying in the past and a part associated with the noise isomorphic to the initial one. This decomposition allows to obtain some analog of the Wold decomposition for classical stationary processes excluding a nondeterministic part of the process in the case of the stationary quantum stochastic processes on the von Neumann factors which are the Markovian perturbations of the quantum noises. For the classical stochastic process with noncorrelated increaments it is constructed the model of Markovian perturbations describing all Markovian cocycles up to a unitary equivalence of the perturbations. Using this model we construct Markovian cocyclies transformating the Gaussian state $ρ$ to the Gaussian states equivalent to $ρ$.

On the multiplicativity conjecture for quantum channels

A multiplicativity conjecture for quantum communication channels is formulated, validity of which for the values of parameter $p$ close to 1 is related to the solution of the fundamental problem of additivity of the channel capacity in quantum information theory. The proof of the conjecture is given for the case of natural numbers $p$.

Cocycle conjugacy of quasifree endomorphisms semigroups on the CAR algebra

W. Arveson has described a cocycle conjugacy class $U(α)$ of $E_0$-semigroup $α$ on B(H) which is a factor of type $\rm I$. Under some conditions on $α$, there is a $E_0$-semigroup $β\in U(α)$ being a flow of shifts in the sence of R.T. Powers. We study quasifree endomorphisms semigroups $α$ on the hyperfinite factor $M=π(A(K))''$ generated by the representations $π$ of the algebra of canonical anticommutation relations A(K) over a separable Hilbert space K. The type of M can be $\rm I$, $\rm II$ or $\rm III$ depending on $π$. The cocycle conjugacy class $U(α)$ is described in the terms of initial isometrical semigroups in K and an analogue of the Arveson result for the hyperfinite factors M of the type $\rm II_1$ and $\rm III_λ, 0<λ<1,$ is introduced.

On some additivity problems in quantum information theory

A class of problems in quantum information theory, having an elementary formulation but still resisting solution, concerns the additivity properties of various quantities characterizing quantum channels, notably the "classical capacity", and the "maximal output purity". All known results, including extensive numerical work, are consistent with the conjecture that these quantities are indeed additive (resp. multiplicative) with respect to tensor products of channels. A proof of this conjecture would have important consequences in quantum information theory. In particular, according to this conjecture, the classical capacity or the maximal purity of outputs cannot be increased by using entangled inputs of the channel. In this paper we state the additivity/multiplicativity problems, give some relations between them, and prove some new partial results, which also support the conjecture.
