Production of Secondaries in pp Collisions at RHIC Energies

The midrapidity inclusive densities of different secondaries are calculated in the framework of the Quark-Gluon String Model. The transfer of baryon number in rapidity space due to the gluon string junction propagation leads to a significant effect on the net baryon production. The numerical results are in reasonable agreement with RHIC experimental data.

Midrapidity Production of Secondaries in pp Collisions at RHIC and LHC Energies in the Quark-Gluon String Model

We consider the phenomenological implications of the assumption that baryons are systems of three quarks connected through gluon string junction. The transfer of baryon number in rapidity space due to the string junction propagation is considered in detail. At high energies this process leads to a significant effect on the net baryon production in hN collisions at mid-rapidities. The numerical results for midrapidity inclusive densities of different secondaries in the framework of the Quark-Gluon String Model are in reasonable agreement with the experimental data. One universal value lambda ~ 0.25 for the strangeness suppression parameter correctly describes the yield ratios of Lambda/p, Xi/Lambda, and Omega/Xi. The predictions for pp collisions at LHC energies are also presented.

Secondary Baryon Asymmetry in pi(+-)p Collisions

The process of secondary baryon production in pi(+-)p collisions at high energies in the central and forward fragmentation regions is considered in the framework of the Quark-Gluon String Model. The contribution of the string-junction mechanism to the baryon production is analysed. The results of numerical calculations are in reasonable agreement with the experimental data on the Lambda/bar(Lambda) and p/bar(p)$ asymmetries.

Quark-Gluon String Model Description of Baryon Production in K^{\pm}N Interactions

The process of baryon production in K p collisions at high energies is considered in the framework of the Quark-Gluon String Model. The contribution of the string-junction mechanism to the strange baryon production is analysed. The results of numerical calculations are in reasonable agreement with the data on inclusive spectra of p, Lambda, bar{Lambda}, and on the bar{Lambda}/Lambda asymmetry. The predictions for Xi and Omega baryons are presented.

Baryon Number Transfer in Hadronic Interaction

The process of baryon number transfer due to string junction propagation in rapidity is considered. It has a significant effect in the net baryon production in $pp$ collisions at mid-rapidities and an even larger effect in the forward hemisphere in the cases of $πp$ and $γp$ interactions. The results of numerical calculations in the framework of the Quark-Gluon String model are in reasonable agreement with the data.

Hadroproduction of particle with open charm

In the framework of Quark-Gluon-String Model (QGSM) we calculate the inclusive spectra of meson and baryons with open charm in hadron-hadron collisions, obtained by SELEX and BEATRICE collaborations, taking into account the decays of corresponding S-wave resonances.

$\bf D_s$-- mesons inclusive hadroproduction in the Quark -- Gluon String Model

The hadroproduction of $D_s$ mesons is discussed within the framework of the modified Quark-Gluon String model (QGSM) taking into account the decays of corresponding $S$--wave resonances. A description of the existing experimental data on inclusive spectra of $D_s$ - mesons production in $πp$ - collision and asymmetry of leading ($D_s^-$) and nonleading ($D_s^+$) mesons in $Σ^- p$-- interaction is obtained. The predictions for cross sections and leading/nonleading asymmetry in $πp$ - and $Σ^- p$-- collision for different initial momenta are also given.

Charmed sea contribution to the inclusive hadroproduction of the mesons with open charm in the Quark -- Gluon String Model

The hadroproduction of charmed mesons is discussed within the framework of the modified Quark-Gluon String model (QGSM) taking into account the decays of corresponding $S$--wave resonances like $D^*$. It is shown that the estimate of the $c\bar{c}$--pair contribution to the quark sea of colliding hadrons strongly depends on the parametrization of the function of the leading light quark fragmentation into charmed mesons. A description of the existing experimental data on inclusive spectra and asymmetries of leading and nonleading $D$ - and $D^*$ - meson production in $ πp$ -, $p p$ - and $Σp$ - collisions is obtained. The predictions for leading/nonleading asymmetry in $Σ^- p$-- and $Ξ^-p$-- collisions are also given.

$D$,$D^*(2010)$ and $D^{*}_{2}(2460)$ charmed mesons production in hadron--hadron collisions

A resently developed generalization of the Quark--Gluon String Model to the case of bosonic resonances production in hadron--hadron collisions is used for the calculation of inclusive production of charmed mesons $D$, $D^*(2010)$ and $D^{*}_{2}(2460)$. A simple relation which determines the dependence of the charmed meson production cross sections on their spin J is obtained. It is shown that the theoretical predictions for the inclusive spectra and production cross sections of these charmed mesons are confirmed experimentally with a reasonable accuracy.

Charmed particle production in hadron-hadron collision

In the framework of Quark--Gluon--String Model developed recently in ITEP we calculate spectra of charmed particles $D$, $D_s$, $Λ_c$, $Ξ_c$, $Ω_c$ in hadron--hadron collisions taking into account the decays of $S$--wave resonances like $D^*$, $D^*_s$, $Σ_c$, $Σ^*_c$, $Ξ^*_c$, $Ξ'_c$, and $Ω^*_c$. We describe the bulk of the existing data on $D$, $D^*$, and $Λ_c$ production in $πp$ and $pp$ collisions and predict the yield of charmed particles in $Σ^-p$ and $Ξ^-p$ reactions at hyperon beam energies of $340\;GeV/c$ and $600\;GeV/c$. Because of significant production of baryon resonances our predictions for unfavored fragmentation differ from predictions of other models which do not take resonance production into account.
