Holographic paramagnetic-ferromagnetic phase transition of Power-Maxwell-Gauss-Bonnet black holes

Based on the shooting method, we numerically investigate the properties of holographic paramagnetism-ferromagnetism phase transition in the presence of higher order Gauss-Bonnet (\emph{GB}) correction terms on the gravity side. On the matter field side, however, we consider the effects of the Power-Maxwell (\emph{PM}) nonlinear electrodynamics on the phase transition of this system. For this purpose, we introduce a massive $2-$form coupled to \emph{PM} field, and neglect the effects of $2-$form fields and gauge field on the background geometry. We observe that increasing the strength of both the power parameter $q$ and \emph{GB} coupling constant $α$ decrease the critical temperature of the holographic model, and lead to the harder formation of magnetic moment in the black hole background. Interestingly, we find out that at low temperatures, the spontaneous magnetization and ferromagnetic phase transition happen in the absence of external magnetic field. In this case, the critical exponent for magnetic moment has the mean field value, $1/2$, regardless of the values of $q$ and $α$. In the presence of external magnetic field, however, the magnetic susceptibility satisfies the Curie-Weiss law.

Extraction a Formalism for Fluids with Non-Spherical Molecules based on the Cluster Expansion of the Energy Functional

In this work, based on the cluster expansion of the energy functional, we have extracted a formalism for calculation of the thermodynamic properties of fluids with non-spherical molecules. The salient feature of the extracted formalism is that it has no restrictions on the type of interaction. In fact our formalism can be employed for all types of realistic inter-particle interactions. Here, for the interaction of two anisotropic molecules, we have applied the Gay-Berne potential. Finally, we have applied this formalism to calculate some thermodynamic properties of fluid H_2 which shows some expected results.

Contraction of cold neutron star due to in the presence a quark core

Motivated by importance of the existence of quark matter on structure of neutron star. For this purpose, we use a suitable equation of state (EoS) which include three different parts: i) a layer of hadronic matter, ii) a mixed phase of quarks and hadrons, and, iii) a strange quark matter in the core. For this system, in order to do more investigation of the EoS, we evaluate energy, Le Chatelier's principle and stability conditions. Our results show that the EoS satisfies these conditions. Considering this EoS, we study the effect of quark matter on the structure of neutron stars such as maximum mass and the corresponding radius, average density, compactness, Kretschmann scalar, Schwarzschild radius, gravitational redshift and dynamical stability. Also, considering the mentioned EoS in this paper, we find that the maximum mass of hybrid stars is a little smaller than that of the corresponding pure neutron star. Indeed the maximum mass of hybrid stars can be quite close to the pure neutron stars. Our calculations about the dynamical stability show that these stars are stable against the radial adiabatic infinitesimal perturbations. In addition, our analyze indicates that neutron stars are under a contraction due to the existence of quark core.

The structure of cold neutron star with a quark core within the MIT and NJL models

Neutron star due to their high interior matter density are expected to be composed of a quark core, a mixed quark-hadron matter, and a layer of hadronic matter. Thus, in this paper, we compute the equation of state of these parts of neutron star to evaluate its structure properties. We use two models for describing EOS of quark matter, NJL and MIT bag models, and employ three approaches in this work. A density dependent bag constant satisfy the quark confinement in the simple MIT bag model. We also study the interaction behavior of quarks, firstly one gluon exchange within MIT bag model and the secondly dynamical mass will be held as effective interaction that roles between particles. Density dependence of quark mass is obtained from NJL self consistent model. NJL model is a effective manner for justify the chiral symmetry. Applying the Gibbs conditions the equation of state of the quarks and hadrons mixed phase is obtained. Since the hadronic matter is under the influence of strong force of nucleons, we calculate the equation of state of this phase using a powerful variational many-body technique. Finally, we calculate the mass and radius of a cold neutron star with a quark core by numerically solving the TOV equation. To check our used EOS, we compare our results with the recent observational data. Our results are in a good agreement with some observed compact objects such as $SAXJ1748.9-2021$, $4U1608-52$ and $Vela X-1$.

Strange quark star in dilaton gravity

In this work, we have first obtained the hydrostatic equilibrium equation in dilaton gravity. Then we have examined some of the structural characteristics of strange quark star in dilaton gravity with a background of Einstein gravity. We have shown that the variations of dilaton parameter do not affect the maximum mass of quark star, while the variations of the cosmological constant lead to change in the structural characteristics of the quark star. We have investigated the stability of strange quark stars that studied by MIT Bag model, in dilaton gravity. We have also provided limiting values for the dilaton field parameter and the cosmological constant. We have also studied the effects of dilaton gravity on the other properties of quark star such as the mean density and gravitational redshift. We have concluded that the last reported value for cosmological constant does not affect on maximum mass of strange quark star.

Field-induced ferromagnetic phase transition in 2D Fermi systems with magnetic dipole-dipole interaction

Magnetic properties of the two-dimensional spin-polarized Fermi gas with dipole-dipole interaction are studied in the presence of external magnetic field at zero temperature. Within perturbation theory and the second quantization formalism, the total energy is explicitly obtained as a function of three dimensionless parameters, the spin polarization, dipolar coupling and Zeeman parameters. We examine the effects of these agents on the magnetic properties of 2D Fermi gas. The results show that an induced ferromagnetic phase transition is observed only for adequately large values of magnetic field. This paper offers two controllable factors to change the spin polarization of the system.

Microscopic analysis of homogeneous electron gas by considering dipole dipole interaction

Implying perturbation theory, the impact of the dipole dipole interaction (DDI) on the thermodynamic properties of a homogeneous electron gas at zero temperature is investigated. Through the second quantization formalism, the analytic expressions for the ground state energy and the DDI energy are obtained. In this paper, the DDI energy has similarities with the previous works done by others. We show that its general behavior depends on density and the total angular momentum. Especially, it is found that the DDI energy has a highly state-dependent behavior. With the growth of density, the magnitude of DDI energy, which is found to be the summation of all energy contributions of the states with even and odd total angular momenta, grows linearly. It is also found that for the states with even and odd total angular momenta, the DDI energy contributions are corresponding to the positive and negative values, respectively. In particular, an increase of total angular momentum leads to decline in the magnitude of energy contribution. Therefore, the dipole dipole interaction reveals distinct characteristics in comparison with central like interactions.

Structure of hot strange quark stars: an NJL model approach at finite temperature

In this paper, we investigated the thermodynamic properties of strange quark matter using Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model at finite temperatures where we considered the dynamical mass as the effective interaction between quarks. By considering the pressure of strange quark matter (SQM) at finite temperatures, we showed that the equation of state of this system gets stiffer by increasing temperature. In addition, we investigated the energy conditions and stability of the equation of state and showed that the equation of state of SQM satisfy the conditions of stability. Finally, we computed the structure properties of hot strange quark stars (SQS) including the gravitational mass, radius, Schwarzschild radius, average density, compactness and gravitational redshift. Our calculations showed that in this model, the maximum mass and radius of SQS increase by increasing temperature. Furthermore it was shown that the average density of SQS is greater than the normal nuclear density, and it is an increasing function of temperature. We also discussed the temperature dependence of the maximum gravitational mass calculated from different methods.

Expansion of magnetic neutron stars in an energy (in)dependent spacetime

Regarding the strong magnetic field of neutron stars and high energy regime scenario which is based on high curvature region near the compact objects, one is motivated to study magnetic neutron stars in an energy dependent spacetime. In this paper, we show that such strong magnetic field and energy dependency of spacetime have considerable effects on the properties of neutron stars. We examine the variations of maximum mass and related radius, Schwarzschild radius, average density, gravitational redshift, Kretschmann scalar and Buchdahl theorem due to magnetic field and also energy dependency of metric. First, it will be shown that the maximum mass and radius of neutron stars are increasing function of magnetic field while average density, redshift, the strength of gravity and Kretschmann scalar are decreasing functions of it. These results are due to a repulsive-like force behavior for the magnetic field. Next, the effects of the gravity's rainbow will be studied and it will be shown that by increasing the rainbow function, the neutron stars could enjoy an expansion in their structures. Then, we obtain a new relation for the upper mass limit of a static spherical neutron star with uniform density in gravity's rainbow (Buchdahl limit) in which such upper limit is modified as $M_{eff}<\frac{4c^{2}R}{9G}$. In addition, stability and energy conditions for the equation of state of neutron star matter are also investigated and a comparison with empirical results is done. It is notable that the numerical study in this paper is conducted by using the lowest order constrained variational (LOCV) approach in the presence of magnetic field employing AV18 potential.

Neutron stars structure in the context of massive gravity

Motivated by the recent interests in spin$-2$ massive gravitons, we study the structure of neutron star in the context of massive gravity. The modifications of TOV equation in the presence of massive gravity are explored in $4$ and higher dimensions. Next, by considering the modern equation of state for the neutron star matter (which is extracted by the lowest order constrained variational (LOCV) method with the AV$18$ potential), different physical properties of the neutron star (such as Le Chatelier's principle, stability and energy conditions) are investigated. It is shown that consideration of the massive gravity has specific contributions into the structure of neutron star and introduces new prescriptions for the massive astrophysical objects. The mass-radius relation is examined and the effects of massive gravity on the Schwarzschild radius, average density, compactness, gravitational redshift and dynamical stability are studied. Finally, a relation between mass and radius of neutron star versus the Planck mass is extracted.

Hot magnetized nuclear matter: Thermodynamic and Saturation Properties

We have used a realistic nuclear potential, AV18, and a many body technique, the lowest order constraint variational (LOCV) approach, to calculate the properties of hot magnetized nuclear matter. By investigating the free energy, spin polarization parameter, and symmetry energy, we have studied the temperature and magnetic field dependence of the saturation properties of magnetized nuclear matter. In addition, we have calculated the equation of state of magnetized nuclear matter at different temperatures and magnetic fields. It was found that the flashing temperature of nuclear matter decreases by increasing the magnetic field. In addition, we have studied the effect of the magnetic field on liquid gas phase transition of nuclear matter. The liquid gas coexistence curves, the order parameter of the liquid gas phase transition, and the properties of critical point at different magnetic fields have been calculated.

Neutron stars in Einstein-$Λ$ gravity: the cosmological constant effects

Regarding a $d-$dimensional spherically symmetric line element in the context of Einstein-$Λ$ gravity, the hydrostatic equilibrium equation of stars is obtained. Then, by using the lowest order constrained variational (LOCV) method with the AV$18$ potential and employing microscopic many body calculations in the modern equation of state, the structure properties of neutron stars are investigated. Regardless of cosmological point of view and considering arbitrary positive and negative values of the cosmological constant, the maximum mass of the neutron stars and their corresponding radius in $4$-dimensions are computed. The results show that there is an upper limit for the maximum mass of neutron star for positive cosmological constant ($M_{\max }\leq 1.68M_{\odot }$). On the other hand, it is shown that the Einstein gravity cannot explain the structure of neutron star with negative $Λ$. Other properties of neutron stars such as; the Schwarzschild radius, average density, compactness and Buchdahl- Bondi bound are studied. In addition, by using the Buchdahl-Bondi bound for neutron stars, stability of these stars is investigated. Finally, the dynamical stability is investigated and shown that the neutron stars follow the dynamical stability in this gravity.

Modified TOV in gravity's rainbow: properties of neutron stars and dynamical stability conditions

In this paper, we consider a spherical symmetric metric to extract the hydrostatic equilibrium equation of stars in $(3+1)-$dimensional gravity's rainbow in the presence of cosmological constant. Then, we generalize the hydrostatic equilibrium equation to $d$-dimensions and obtain the hydrostatic equilibrium equation for this gravity. Also, we obtain the maximum mass of neutron star using the modern equations of state of neutron star matter derived from the microscopic calculations. It is notable that, in this paper, we consider the effects of rainbow functions on the diagrams related to the mass-central mass density ($M$-$ρ_{c}$) relation and also the mass-radius ($M$-$R$) relation of neutron star. We also study the effects of rainbow functions on the other properties of neutron star such as the Schwarzschild radius, average density, strength of gravity and gravitational redshift. Then, we apply the cosmological constant to this theory to obtain the diagrams of $M$-$ρ_{c}$ (or $M$-$R$) and other properties of these stars. Next, we investigate the dynamical stability condition for these stars in gravity's rainbow and show that these stars have dynamical stability. We also obtain a relation between mass of neutron stars and Planck mass. In addition, we compare obtained results of this theory with the observational data.

Saturation properties of nuclear matter in the presence of strong magnetic field

Different saturation properties of cold symmetric nuclear matter in the strong magnetic field have been considered. We have seen that for magnetic fields about $B> 3 \times 10 ^ {17}\ G$, {for both cases with and without nucleon anomalous magnetic moments}, the saturation density and saturation energy grow by increasing the magnetic field. It is indicated that the magnetic susceptibility of symmetric nuclear matter becomes negative showing the diamagnetic response especially at $B< 3 \times 10 ^ {17}\ G$. We have found that for the nuclear matter, the magnitude of orbital magnetization reaches the higher values comparing to the spin magnetization. Our results for the incompressibility show that at high enough magnetic fields, i.e. $B> 3 \times 10 ^ {17}\ G$, {the softening of equation of state caused by Landau quantization is overwhelmed by stiffening due to the magnetization of nuclear matter.} We have shown that the effects of strong magnetic field on nuclear matter may affect the constraints on the equation of state of symmetric nuclear matter obtained applying the experimental observable.

Calculation of nuclear matter in the presence of strong magnetic field using LOCV technique

In the present work, we are interested in the properties of nuclear matter at zero temperature in the presence of strong magnetic fields using the lowest order constraint variational (LOCV) method employing $AV_{18}$ nuclear potential. Our results indicate that in the absence of a magnetic field, the energy per particle is a symmetric function of the spin polarization parameter. This shows that for the nuclear matter, the spontaneous phase transition to a ferromagnetic state does not occur. However, we have found that for the magnetic fields $ B\gtrsim 10 ^ {18}\ G$, the symmetry of energy is broken and the energy has a minimum at a positive value of the spin polarization parameter. We have also found that the effect of magnetic field on the value of energy is more significant at the low densities. Our calculations show that at lower densities, the spin polarization parameter is more sensitive to the magnetic field.

Asymmetry energy of nuclear matter: Temperature and density dependence, and validity of semi-empirical formula

In this work, we have done a completely microscopic calculation using a many-body variational method based on the cluster expansion of energy to compute the asymmetry energy of nuclear matter. In our calculations, we have employed the $AV_{18}$ nuclear potential. We have also investigated the temperature and density dependence of asymmetry energy. Our results show that the asymmetry energy of nuclear matter depends on both density and temperature. We have also studied the effects of different terms in the asymmetry energy of nuclear matter. These investigations indicate that at different densities and temperatures, the contribution of parabolic term is very substantial with respect to the other terms. Therefore, we can conclude that the parabolic approximation is a relatively good estimation, and our calculated binding energy of asymmetric nuclear matter is in a relatively good agreement with that of semi-empirical mass formula. However, for the accurate calculations, it is better to consider the effects of other terms.

Influence of spin polarizability on liquid gas phase transition in the nuclear matter

In this paper, we investigate the liquid gas phase transition for the spin polarized nuclear matter. Applying the lowest order constrained variational (LOCV) method, and using two microscopic potentials, $AV_{18}$ and $UV_{14}$+TNI, we calculate the free energy, equation of state, order parameter, entropy, heat capacity and compressibility to derive the critical properties of spin polarized nuclear matter. Our results indicate that for the spin polarized nuclear matter, the second order phase transition takes place at lower temperatures with respect to the unpolarized one. It is also shown that the critical temperature of our spin polarized nuclear matter with a specific value of spin polarization parameter is in good agreement with the experimental result.

Dilatonic Equation of Hydrostatic Equilibrium and Neutron Star Structure

In this paper, we present a new hydrostatic equilibrium equation related to dilaton gravity. We consider a spherical symmetric metric to obtain the hydrostatic equilibrium equation of stars in $4$-dimensions, and generalize TOV equation to the case of regarding a dilaton field. Then, we calculate the structure properties of neutron star using our obtained hydrostatic equilibrium equation employing the modern equations of state of neutron star matter derived from microscopic calculations. We show that the maximum mass of neutron star depends on the parameters of dilaton field and cosmological constant. In other words, by setting the parameters of new hydrostatic equilibrium equation, we calculate the maximum mass of neutron star.
