De Rham cohomology of diffeological spaces and foliations

Let $(M,\mathcal{F})$ be a foliated manifold. We prove that there is a canonical isomorphism between the complex of base-like forms $Ω^*_b(M,\mathcal{F})$ of the foliation and the "De Rham complex" of the space of leaves $M/\mathcal{F}$ when considered as a "diffeological" quotient. Consequently, the two corresponding cohomology groups $H^*_b(M,\mathcal{F})$ and $H^*(M/\mathcal{F})$ are isomorphic.

The diffeomorphism group of a Lie foliation

We explicitly compute the diffeomorphism group of several types of linear foliations (with dense leaves) on the torus $T^n$, $n\geq 2$, namely codimension one foliations, flows, and the so-called non-quadratic foliations. We show in particular that non-quadratic foliations are rigid, in the sense that they do not admit transverse diffeomorphisms other than $\pm \id$ and translations. The computation is an application of a general formula that we prove for the diffeomorphism group of any Lie foliation with dense leaves on a compact manifold. Our results generalize those of P. Donato and P. Iglesias for $T^2$, P. Iglesias and G. Lachaud for codimension one foliations on $T^n$, $n\geq 2$, and B. Herrera for transcendent foliations. The theoretical setting of the paper is that of J. M. Souriau's diffeological spaces.

Laminations hyperfinies et revetements

We introduce the so-called BT-category of borelian-topological spaces: it will be a natural frame for a measurable classification of usual foliations and laminations. We focus on the two-dimensional case: borelian laminations by surfaces. We prove two main results: (1) Any borelian lamination by planes is the suspension of a $\Z^2$-action on a Borel space iff this lamination is hyperfinite. (2) Any borelian lamination by surfaces is amenable if parabolic, i.e. if it admits a complex structure parabolic on each leaf. The third result is an improvement of (2) in case of laminations endowed with a transverse quasi-invariant measure $μ$. The statement is the following: (3) Any borelian lamination by planes, cylinders and tori is $μ$-amenable if and only if it admits a metric which is flat on $μ$-almost all leafs.

Intégration symplectique des variétés de Poisson régulières

A symplectic integration of a Poisson manifold $(M,Λ)$ is a symplectic groupoid $(Γ,η)$ which realizes the given Poisson manifold, i.e. such that the space of units $Γ_0$ with the induced Poisson structure $Λ_0$ is isomorphic to $(M,Λ)$. This notion was introduced by A. Weinstein in order to quantize Poisson manifolds by quantizing their symplectic integration. Any Poisson manifold can be integrated by a local symplectic groupoid but already for regular Poisson manifolds there are obstructions to global integrability. The aim of this paper is to summarize all the known obstructions and present a sufficient topological condition for integrability of regular Poisson manifolds; we will indeed describe a concrete procedure for this integration. Further our criterion will provide necessary and sufficient if we require $Γ$ to be Hausdorff, which is a suitable condition to proceed to Weinstein's program of quantization. These integrability results may be interpreted as an generalization of the Cartan-Smith proof of Lie's third theorem in the infinite dimensional case.
