Prospects for $K^+ \to π^+ ν\bar{ ν}$ at CERN in NA62

The NA62 experiment will begin taking data in 2015. Its primary purpose is a 10% measurement of the branching ratio of the ultrarare kaon decay $K^+ \to π^+ ν\bar{ ν}$, using the decay in flight of kaons in an unseparated beam with momentum 75 GeV/c.The detector and analysis technique are described here.

The flux-tube phase transition

We consider the phase transition in the "hot" dual long-distances Yang-Mills theory at finite temperature $T$. This phase transition is associated with a change of symmetry. The dual model is formulated in terms of two-point Wightman functions with equations of motion involving higher derivatives. The effective mass of the dual gauge field is derived as a function of $T$-dependent gauge coupling constant.

Study of cosmogenic radiocarbon concentration variations in the Earth's atmosphere during solar activity of Mounder minimum (1645-1715)

Variations of radiocarbon concentration have been studied in annual rings for the last 350 years (1600-1950)on the basis of our experimental research using methods of spectral analysis. From this interval of time special attention is paid to the so-called period of the Maunder minimum (1645-1715) of solar activity. In the experimental series of corresponding period two types of periodicity are revealed: 20 year and 8 year.

Production of (super)heavy quarkonia and new Higgs physics at hadron colliders

Based on the two Higgs doublet model, we study the effect of Higgs-boson exchange on the (super)heavy quarkonium \bar QQ, which induces a strong attractive force between a (super)heavy quark Q and an antiquark \bar Q. An interesting application is the decay of (super)heavy quarkonia \bar QQ into a Higgs boson associated with gauge bosons. The criterion for making the \bar QQ bound state is studied. We also show that non-perturbative effects due to gluonic field fluctuations are rather small in such a heavy quark sector. Possible enhancement for productions and decays of \bar QQ bound states made from the fourth generation quark Q is discussed for \bar p p (at the Tevatron) and pp (at the LHC) collisions.
