Matter-antimatter asymmetry and chiral behavior in perturbed atom H

Recently, we showed that that band as well as line spectra, reveal a left-right symmetry in 4- and 2-fermion systems. We now show how a mass-conjugation explains the difference between atom- and antiatom-states in a stable 2-unit charge Coulomb system. For the electron-proton system in natural H, this difference (an anomaly) between states belonging to the hydrogen (matter) and the antihydrogen (antimatter) anti-world is governed by number 2m(e)/m(H) = 0.0011. This is verified with the H-line spectrum. Classical physics can describe the parity effects for matter-antimatter asymmetry. An internal mass-conjugation (internal algebra) extends and generalizes Dirac's fermion-antifermion symmetry and defies Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity (STR).

Equivalence of macro- (Van der waals) and micro- (quantum) phase-transitions: consequences for BEC, antihydrogen and generic chiral symmetry breaking

The internal microscopic phase transition in atom H described with a Hund-type Mexican hat potential is analytically congruent with the macroscopic phase transitions between states of aggregation, described with classical Van der waals-Maxwell binodals and spinodals. This means the UEOS (universal equation of state) exists and is valid for any phase transition in any system. A universal chiral symmetry breaking mechanism applies to BEC, where the de Broglie length is important. We show quantitatively that his standing wave equation leads to the equivalence of macro- and microscopic phase transitions, due to natural chiral symmetry breaking. The experimentally detected phase transition in the so-called simple Coulomb electron-proton bond between the 2 enantiomers H and antiH is the generic prototype.

Flawing CERN antihydrogen-experiments with the available H-spectrum

Solving the antiH-problem could well be of historical interest but a solution must be unambiguous. We use already available and accurate spectral evidence to contradict and even to flaw the current CERN antiH-experiments, set up to unravel this antiH-mystery. Making antiH with a long-range interaction between e+ and p- is impossible, since this mass-asymmetrical pair of charge-conjugated antiparticles is confined to a bound state at close-range. This resembles the short- and long-range quark behavior in QCD. A real solution for antiH will therefore require a different approach.

Mexican hat curve for hydrogen- and antihydrogen-states in natural atom H

Molecular band spectra as well as atomic line spectra reveal a left-right symmetry for atoms (Van Hooydonk, Spectrochim. Acta A, 2000, 56, 2273 and Phys. Rev. A 66, 044103 (2002). We now extract a Mexican hat shaped or double well curve from the line spectrum (Lyman ns-series) of natural atom H. An H CSB theory and its oscillator contribution (1-0.5pi/n)sup(2)/nsup(2) lead to unprecedented results for antihydrogen physics, ahead of the CERN-AD-project on artificial antihydrogen.

On mirror symmetry, CSB and anti-hydrogen states in natural atom H

Molecular band spectra reveal a left-right symmetry for atoms (Van Hooydonk, Spectrochim.Acta A, 2000, 56, 2273). Intra-atomic left-right symmetry points to antiatom states and, to make sense, this must also show in line spectra. H Lyman ns-states show a mirror plane at quantum number n=pi/2. Symmetry breaking oscillator (1-0.5pi/n)sup(2) means that some of these n-states are anti-hydrogenic. This view runs ahead of CERN AD-projects on antihydrogen.

Comment on Hydrogen-Antihydrogen collisions

A comment on a recent paper by P. Froelich et. al., Phys. Rev. Lett., 84, 4577 (2000) on hydrogen-antihydrogen collisions and on matter-antimatter reactions in general. The center of mass of a stable HHbar system has prochiral character. It is not necessary to look for large scale anti-matter domains at distances Mpc away or at the cosmological horizon.

Gauge symmetry, left-right asymmetry and atom-antiatom systems: Coulomb's law as a universal molecular function

We show that Coulomb's law is a universal molecular function. Charge inversion in one atom (handedness or chirality) generates a switch from atom-atom to atom-antiatom systems. this switch reduces the 10 term Hamiltonian for 4-particle systems to only 1 or 2 terms. This reduced parity adapted Hamiltonian accounts for observed PECs for atom-atom systems (results for 9 bonds are given). Hydrogen-antihydrogen reactions, feasible in the near future, will produce a normal H(2) molecule, which would solve the problem about the existence of anti-matter.

Gauge symmetry, chirality and parity violation in four-particle systems: Coulomb's law as a universal molecular function

Following recent work in search of a universal function (Van Hooydonk, Eur J Inorg Chem, 1999, 1617), we test symmetric potentials for reproducing molecular potential energy curves (PECs). For a bond, a four-particle system, charge inversion is the key to explain this shape generically. A parity adapted Hamiltonian reduces from ten to two terms. The analytical perturbed Coulomb function scales attractive and repulsive branches of 13 PECs (HH, HF, LiH, KH, AuH, LiLi, LiF, KLi, NaCs, RbRb,RbCs, CsCs and II) in a single straight line. Turning points are reproduced with a deviation of 0.3 % (0.007 angstrom). At the repulsive side, the deviation is 0.2 % (0.003 angstrom). The ab initio zero molecular parameter function gives PECs of acceptable quality, just using atomic ionisation energies. The function can be used as a model potential for inverting energy levels. The theory may be tested with femtochemistry. Reactions between hydrogen and anti-hydrogen, feasible in the near future, will probably produce normal HH.

Newton-Fermi versus Fermi-Planck compactification: superunification by scaling electrical with earth-bound gravitational forces

Absolute scaling electrical with gravitational forces has remained unsuccessful until today. Using recent results on scaling spectroscopic constants, we now scale the internal electrical potential of a two particle system by its gravitational potential at the surface of the earth. This relative scaling is based upon classical equilibrium conditions. Compactifying earth-bound gravitaion (the Newton-scale) to the Fermi-scale in particle interacions is of the same order as going down from the latter to the Plank-scale. The unification scale factor for gravitational and electromagnetic forces is of the order of 2pi. The unification scale factor for two vibrating particles is the reciprocal of Sommerfeld's fine structure constant (deviation < 0.2 %)and gravitational forces are weak electromagnetic forces. The earth-bound bravitational energy asymptote is the natural unit for the relativistic fine structure and the magnetic spin-orbit interaction in atoms. Maybe, in the Standard Model and beyond, one has been looking in the wrong direction for compactification to attempt superunification.
