Coordinate space representation for quantum simulation of scalar field theory

Quantum computing provides a promising framework for the simulation of quantum field theories, where the computational cost depends both on the quantum algorithm employed and on the representation of the Hamiltonian. We investigate a formulation of the $\phi^4$ model based on the harmonic-oscillator basis in coordinate space. We derive the lattice $\phi^4$ Hamiltonian in this representation and analyze the structure of the resulting one-body matrix and interaction tensor. We show that both exhibit an effective band-diagonal structure, allowing controlled truncations of the Hamiltonian while preserving the low-energy spectrum. We validate this formulation by comparing low-energy observables obtained from numerical diagonalization with those computed in the standard harmonic-oscillator momentum-space representation. Finally, we estimate the resources required to encode the Hamiltonian on a quantum computer using both binary and unary boson-to-qubit mappings. By exploiting effective locality, the coordinate-space representation reduces the resources required for quantum simulation over a broad range of parameters.

Renormalization group flow of $O(N)^3$-invariant general sextic tensor model

We compute the beta functions for the $O(N)^3$-invariant general sextic tensor model up to cubic order in the coupling constant, and at leading order in the $1/N$ expansion. Our method is a direct, explicit one, in the sense that we identify the appropriate Feynman graphs, we compute their amplitudes which then allows us to obtain the $\beta$ functions of the model. We perform these computation considering both a long-range and a short-range propagator, within the dimensional regularization framework. We find three fixed points in the short-range case and a line of fixed points, parameterized by the wheel interaction, in the long-range case. This line of fixed points is identical to the one found in the case of the $U(N)^3$-invariant model. Our result proves that the additional $O(N)^3$-invariant interactions do not modify the long-range fixed point structure of the model.

Large-$N$ limit of $O(N)^3$-invariant general sextic tensor model

We study a sextic tensor model where the interaction terms are given by all $O(N)^3$-invariant bubbles. The class of invariants studied here is thus a larger one that the class of the $U(N)^3$-invariant sextic tensor model. We implement the large $N$ limit mechanism for this general model and we explicitly identify the dominant graphs in the $1/N$ expansion. This class of dominant graphs contains tadpole graphs, melonic graphs but also new types of tensor graphs. Our analysis adapts the tensorial intermediate field method, previously applied only to the prismatic interaction, to all connected sextic interactions except the wheel interaction, which we treat separately using a cycle analysis.
