In this paper, we prove that any solution of Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano compactification $M$ of semisimple complex Lie group, is of type II, if $M$ admits no Kähler-Einstein metrics. As an application, we found two Fano compactifications of $\mathrm{SO}_4(\mathbb{C})$ and one Fano compactification of $\mathrm{Sp}_4(\mathbb{C})$, on which the Kähler-Ricci flow will develop singularities of type II. To the authors' knowledge, these are the first examples of Ricci flow with singularities of type II on Fano manifolds in the literature.
We use the first author's idea on "constructing virtual fundamental cycles without gluing ' to define the quantum correction term between the gauged linear sigma model and the nonlinear sigma model.
Let $(M,J_0)$ be a Fano manifold which admits a Kähler-Ricci soliton, we analyze the behavior of the Kähler-Ricci flow near this soliton as we deform the complex structure $J_0$. First, we will establish an inequality of Lojasiewicz's type for Perelman's entropy along the Kähler-Ricci flow. Then we prove the convergence of Kähler-Ricci flow when the complex structure associated to the initial value lies in the kernel $Z$ or negative part of the second variation operator of Perelman's entropy. As applications, we solve the Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture for the existence of Kähler-Ricci solitons in the moduli space of complex structures near $J_0$, and we show that the kernel $Z$ corresponds to the local moduli space of Fano manifolds which are modified $K$-semistable. We also prove an uniqueness theorem for Kähler-Ricci solitons.
We prove the Yau-Tian-Donaldson's conjecture for any $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano variety that has a log smooth resolution of singularities such that the discrepancies of all exceptional divisors are non-positive. In other words, if such a Fano variety is K-polystable, then it admits a Kähler-Einstein metric. This extends the previous result for smooth Fano varieties to this class of singular $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano varieties, which include those admitting crepant log resolutions.
We prove the following result: if a $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano variety is uniformly K-stable, then it admits a Kähler-Einstein metric. We achieve this by modifying Berman-Boucksom-Jonsson's strategy with appropriate perturbative arguments and non-Archimedean estimates. The idea of using the perturbation is motivated by our previous paper.
Using log canonical thresholds and basis divisors Fujita--Odaka introduced purely algebro-geometric invariants $δ_m$ whose limit in $m$ is now known to characterize uniform K-stability on a Fano variety. As shown by Blum-Jonsson this carries over to a general polarization, and together with work of Berman, Boucksom, and Jonsson, it is now known that the limit of these $δ_m$-invariants characterizes uniform Ding stability. A basic question since Fujita-Odaka's work has been to find an analytic interpretation of these invariants. We show that each $δ_m$ is the coercivity threshold of a quantized Ding functional on the $m$-th Bergman space and thus characterizes the existence of balanced metrics. This approach has a number of applications. The most basic one is that it provides an alternative way to compute these invariants, which is new even for $\mathbb{P}^n$. Second, it allows us to introduce algebraically defined invariants that characterize the existence of Kähler-Ricci solitons (and the more general $g$-solitons of Berman-Witt Nyström), as well as coupled versions thereof. Third, it leads to approximation results involving balanced metrics in the presence of automorphisms that extend some results of Donaldson.
We introduce a new curvature flow which matches with the Ricci flow on metrics and preserves the almost Hermitian condition. This enables us to use Ricci flow to study almost Hermitian manifolds.
In this paper, we prove an existence result for Kähler-Einstein metrics on $\mathbb Q$-Fano compactifications of Lie groups. As an application, we classify $\mathbb Q$-Fano compactifications of $SO_4(\mathbb C)$ which admit a Kähler-Einstein metric with the same volume as that of a smooth Fano compactification of $SO_4(\mathbb C)$.
We construct virtual cycles on moduli spaces of perturbed gauged Witten equation over a fixed smooth r -spin curve, under the framework of [TX15]. Together with the wall-crossing formula proved in the companion paper [TX19], it completes the construction of the correlation function for the gauged linear sigma model announced in [TX16] as well as the proof of its invariance.
In this paper we prove a wall-crossing formula, a crucial ingredient needed to prove that the correlation function of gauged linear sigma model is independent of the choice of perturbations.
We prove a uniform diameter bound for long time solutions of the normalized Kahler-Ricci flow on an $n$-dimensional projective manifold $X$ with semi-ample canonical bundle under the assumption that the Ricci curvature is uniformly bounded for all time in a fixed domain containing a fibre of $X$ over its canonical model $X_{can}$. This assumption on the Ricci curvature always holds when the Kodaira dimension of $X$ is $n$, $n-1$ or when the general fibre of $X$ over its canonical model is a complex torus. In particular, the normalized Kahler-Ricci flow converges in Gromov-Hausdorff topolopy to its canonical model when $X$ has Kodaira dimension $1$ with $K_X$ being semi-ample and the general fibre of $X$ over its canonical model being a complex torus. We also prove the Gromov-Hausdorff limit of collapsing Ricci-flat Kahler metrics on a holomorphically fibred Calabi-Yau manifold is unique and is homeomorphic to the metric completion of the corresponding twisted Kahler-Einstein metric on the regular part of its base.
In this paper, we prove the conic version of YTD conjecture on log Fano manifolds.
In this article, we study the smallest gaps of the Gaussian orthogonal ensemble. The main result is that the smallest gaps, after normalized by $n$, will tend to a Poisson distribution, and the limiting density of the $k$-th normalized smallest gaps is $ 2{}x^{2k-1}e^{-x^{2}}/(k-1)!$.
In this paper, we discuss stable pairs, which were first studied by S. Paul, and give a proof for a result I learned from him. As a consequence, we will show that the K-stability implies the CM-stability.
In this expository note, we study the second variation of Perelman's entropy on the space of Kahler metrics at a Kähler-Ricci soliton. We prove that the entropy is stable in the sense of variations. In particular, Perelman's entropy is stable along the Kähler-Ricci flow. The Chinese version of this note has appeared in a volume in honor of professor K.C.Chang (Scientia Sinica Math., 46 (2016), 685-696).
In this paper is to extend the Cheeger-Colding Theory to the class of conic Kahler-Einstein metrics. This extension provides a technical tool for [LTW] in which we prove a version of the Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture for Fano varieties with certain singularity.
This is the first part of a series of papers on the spectrum of the SYK model, which is a simple model of the black hole in physics literature. In this paper, we will give a rigorous proof of the almost sure convergence of the global density of the eigenvalues. We also discuss the largest eigenvalue of the SYK model.
