Optimizing the preparation of Dicke states using counterdiabatic driving methods

Recently, the technique of counterdiabatic driving, which provides an effective strategy for accelerating adiabatic quantum evolution, has been widely applied in the preparation of many-body quantum states. In this work, we propose a theoretical scheme for the efficient preparation of Dicke states in a system of non-interacting two-level atoms. Our approach leverages the one-axis twisting (OAT) interaction to generate non-classical correlations and combines it with time-dependent external fields to achieve precise control over the dynamics of the system. By employing rapid adiabatic passage (RAP), it demonstrates how the system can be steered from an initial coherent spin state to a target Dicke state with high fidelity [S. C. Carrasco, M. H. Goerz, S. A. Malinovskaya, V. Vuleti\'c, W. P. Schleich, and V. S. Malinovsky, Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{132}, 153603 (2024)]. To further optimize the preparation process, we introduce counterdiabatic driving (CD), which suppresses non-adiabatic transitions. Numerical simulations confirm that our scheme can achieve high-fidelity Dicke states for a moderate number of particles. Our results provide a scalable and experimentally feasible approach to prepare Dicke states, with potential applications in quantum metrology, quantum communication, and quantum information processing.

Nonreciprocal magnon-magnon entanglement in a spinning cavity-magnon system

Cavity-magnon systems, combining magnons and photons, offer a versatile platform for studying quantum entanglement and advancing quantum information science. In this work, we propose a scheme for generating nonreciprocal magnon-magnon entanglement in a hybrid system consisting of two yttrium iron garnet spheres coupled to a spinning whispering-gallery-mode cavity. By leveraging the magnon Kerr nonlinearity and the Sagnac effect arising from the cavity rotation, we show that the entanglement can be substantially enhanced, and the resulting entanglement exhibits pronounced nonreciprocal characteristics. Furthermore, our scheme demonstrates that the entanglement remains robust against thermal noise and persists at bath temperatures up to 100 mK. This work underscores the potential of spinning cavity-magnon systems as a versatile platform for realizing nonreciprocal quantum devices and facilitating the development of quantum technologies.

Magnonic entanglement in a chiral cavity-magnon coupling system

The generation of magnon entanglement and squeezing plays a crucial role in quantum information processing. In this study, we propose a scheme based on a chiral cavity-magnon system, which consists of a torus-shaped cavity and two yttrium iron garnet spheres. The magnon mode of each yttrium iron garnet sphere is selectively coupled to one of the two degenerate rotating microwave modes of the toroidal cavity. The system aims to achieve entangled and squeezed magnon states through the mediation of the cavity. We further show that bipartite entanglement can be achieved by tuning external driving parameters. Additionally, our scheme does not rely on the magnon Kerr nonlinearity, which is usually extremely weak in yttrium iron garnet spheres. This work provides insights and methods for the research of quantum states in cavity-magnon systems.

Generation of high-fidelity Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states in a driven hybrid quantum system

In this study, we propose a theoretical scheme for achieving long-distance Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states in a driven hybrid quantum system. By applying a microwave field to the YIG sphere, we utilize the Kerr effect to induce the squeezing of the magnon, thereby achieving an exponential enhancement of the coupling strength between the magnonic mode and spins, and we also discuss in detail the relationship between the squeezing parameter and the external microwave field. By means of the Schrieffer-Wolff transformation, the magnonic mode can be adiabatically eliminated under the large detuning condition, thereby establishing a robust effective interaction between spins essential for realizing the desired entangled state. Numerical simulations indicate that the squeezing parameter can be effectively increased by adjusting the driving field, and our proposal can generate high-fidelity Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states even in dissipative systems. Additionally, we extensively discuss the influence of inhomogeneous broadening on the entangled states, and the experimental feasibility shows that our results provide possibilities in the realms of quantum networking and quantum computing.

Protecting quantum gates from arbitrary single- and two-qubit errors

We explore the protection of quantum gates from arbitrary single- and two-qubit noises with properly designed dynamical decoupling pulses. The proposed dynamical decoupling method is a concatenation of a sequence of pulses formed by $σ_x$, $σ_xσ_x$ with another sequence constructed by $σ_z$, $σ_zσ_z$. The concatenation of the two sequences results in desired pulses to fight agianst any single- and two-qubit errors. The success of our method relies on the ability to adjust system parameters or interaction terms, which can be achieved in different physical systems, including trapped ions and superconducting qubits. We finally explore the performance of our method numerically with the above-mentioned errors that are changing at any moment and show the preferred protection offered by the method. Therefore, our method is a timely step forward in preserving quantum gates at the level of physical qubits.

Ground-state chiral current via periodic modulation

In this study, we engineer the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction mediated by photons to emulate ground-state chiral current based on three-level atoms driven by quantum and classical fields. We employ adiabatic elimination techniques to derive an effective Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction Hamiltonian of two-level systems, which can address the challenges arising from the finite lifetime of excited states. Furthermore, we can ensure to achieve desired dynamics through the implementation of periodic modulation on the atomic ground states. Besides, three-state and multi-state chiral current can be obtained by choosing appropriate driving frequencies and phases. We also design the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction for the other components based on a toggling frame. The numerical simulation results further indicate that our proposal can generate a perfectly reliable ground-state chiral current and open up possibilities for quantum state transfer and the development of future quantum networks.

Combined optimization ghost imaging based on random speckle field

Ghost imaging is a non local imaging technology, which can obtain target information by measuring the second-order intensity correlation between the reference light field and the target detection light field. However, the current imaging environment requires a large number of measurement data, and the imaging results also have the problems of low image resolution and long reconstruction time. Therefore, using orthogonal methods such as QR decomposition, a variety of optimization methods for speckle patterns are designed combined with Kronecker product, which can help to shorten the imaging time, improve the imaging quality and image noise resistance.

Entangling two Dicke states in a periodic modulated quantum system

We propose a theoretical approach for entangling two Dicke states in a periodic modulated quantum system. By considering two qubit ensembles that are nonuniformly coupled to a common resonator, we can derive an effective Hamiltonian whose energy levels depend nonlinearly on the excitation number of each qubit ensemble. More simplified effective Hamiltonian can be obtained by selecting appropriate driving parameters and initial state. Based on the dynamic evolution of the effective Hamiltonian, we can selectively achieve Dicke state transitions and generate entangled Dicke states controllably. For a special case, we can obtain ensemble-ensemble entangled states by performing a projective even-odd cat measurement. By implementing Gaussian soft temporal modulation, we can effectively suppress off-resonant contributions in the interaction and enhance the fidelity of target states. Furthermore, by utilizing the Holstein-Primakoff transformation, we study the resonator-ensemble coupling system in the thermodynamic limit and investigate the generation of entangled magnon states. Additionally, we propose a scheme of creating magnon NOON states through frequency modulation and study the influence of decoherence on the fidelity of target states.

Quantum battery based on dipole-dipole interaction and external driving field

The Dicke model is a fundamental model in quantum optics, which describes the interaction between quantum cavity field and a large ensemble of two-level atoms. In this work, we propose an efficient charging quantum battery achieved by considering an extension Dicke model with dipole-dipole interaction and an external driving field. We focus on the influence of the atomic interaction and the driving field on the performance of the quantum battery during the charging process and find that the maximum stored energy exhibits a critical phenomenon. The maximum stored energy and maximum charging power are investigated by varying the number of atoms. When the coupling between atoms and cavity is not very strong, compared to the Dicke quantum battery, such quantum battery can achieve more stable and faster charging. In addition, the maximum charging power approximately satisfies a superlinear scaling relation $P_{\rm max}\varproptoβN^α$, where the quantum advantage $α=1.6$ can be reached via optimizing the parameters.

Switchable selective interactions in a Dicke Model with Driven Biased term

In this work, we propose a method to investigate controllable qubit-resonator interactions in a Dicke model with driven biased term. The nonlinearity of spectrum, which can be induced by qubit-resonator interactions, plays an important role in such controllable interactions. To gain insight into mechanism of the nonlinearity, we perform a unitary transformation to the Hamiltonian. The results show that the nonlinearity of the transformed Hamiltonian depends on the qubit-resonator coupling strength. The general forms of the effective Hamiltonians are discussed in detail based on the frequency modulation approach. The dynamical evolution can be switched on and off by adjusting the modulation parameters. By utilizing such controllable interactions, we discuss the creation of Dicke states and arbitrary superposition of Dicke states. We also consider the nonlinearity of energy level for the limit of large qubit numbers. In the thermodynamics limit, the kerr type nonlinearity is induced from "magnon"-resonator coupling, and the selective preparation of "magnon" Fock states can be studied under "magnon" scenario.

We explore the implementation of hybridly protected quantum operations combining the merits of holonomy, dynamical decoupling approach and dephasing-free feature based on a simple and experimentally achievable spin model. The implementation of the quantum operations can be achieved in different physical systems with controllable parameters. The protected quantum operations are hence controllable, well-suited for resolving various quantum computation tasks, such as executing quantum error-correction codes or quantum error mitigation. Our scheme is based on experimentally achievable Hamiltonian with reduced requirement of computational resources and thus, it brings us closer towards realizing protected quantum operations for resolving quantum computation tasks in near-term quantum devices.

Dicke States Generation via Selective Interactions in Dicke-Stark Model

We propose a method to create selective interactions with Dicke-Stark model by means of time-dependent perturbation theory. By choosing the proper rotating framework, we find that the time oscillating terms depend on the number of atomic excitations and the number of photonic excitations. Consequently, the Rabi oscillation between selective states can be realized by properly choosing the frequency of the two-level system. The second order selective interactions can also be studied with this method. Then various states such as Dicke states, superposition of Dicke states and GHZ states can be created by means of such selective interactions. The numerical results show that high fidelity Dicke states and Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states can be created by choosing the proper frequency of two-level system and controlling the evolution time.

Hadamard `Pipeline' Coding Computational Ghost Imaging

The Hadamard matrix with orthogonality is a more important modulation matrix for computational ghost imaging (CGI), especially its optimized Hadamard matrix. However, as far as we know, little mention has been paid to efficient and convenient Hadamard matrix generation for CGI. The existing methods are to reconstruct any row of Hadamard matrix into two-dimensional matrix and then optimize it. In this work, we propose a Hadamard `pipeline' coding computational ghost imaging approach, which can directly generate two-dimensional Hadamard derived pattern and Hadamard optimization sequence, whereby both the memory consumption and the complexity of coding implementation for CGI can be significantly reduced. The optimization method of commonly used hadamard optimization sequence implementation is also discussed. This method provides a new approach for Hadamard sequence optimization and ghost imaging applications.

Edge detection based on joint iteration ghost imaging

Imaging and edge detection have been widely applied and played an important role in security checking and medical diagnosis. However, as we know, most edge detection based on ghost imaging system require a large measurement times and the target object image cannot be provided directly. In this work, a new edge detection based on joint iteration of projected Landweber iteration regularization and guided filter ghost imaging method have been proposed which can be improved the feature detection quality in ghost imaging. This method can also achieve high quality imaging. Simulation and experiment results show that the spatial information and edge information of target object are successfully recovered from the random speckle patterns without special coding under a low measurement times, and the edge image quality is improved remarkably. This approach improves the the applicability of ghost imaging, and can satisfy the practical application fields of imaging and edge detection at the same time.

Simulating Anisotropic quantum Rabi model via frequency modulation

Anisotropic quantum Rabi model is a generalization of quantum Rabi model, which allows its rotating and counter-rotating terms to have two different coupling constants. It provides us with a fundamental model to understand various physical features concerning quantum optics, solid-state physics, and mesoscopic physics. In this paper, we propose an experimental feasible scheme to implement anisotropic quantum Rabi model in a circuit quantum electrodynamics system via periodic frequency modulation. An effective Hamiltonian describing the tunable anisotropic quantum Rabi model can be derived from a qubit-resonator coupling system modulated by two periodic driving fields. All effective parameters of the simulated system can be adjusted by tuning the initial phases, the frequencies and the amplitudes of the driving fields. We show that the periodic driving is able to drive a coupled system in dispersive regime to ultrastrong coupling regime, and even deep-strong coupling regime. The derived effective Hamiltonian allows us to obtain pure rotating term and counter-rotating term. Numerical simulation shows that such effective Hamiltonian is valid in ultrastrong coupling regime, and stronger coupling regime. Moreover, our scheme can be generalized to the multi-qubit case. We also give some applications of the simulated system to the Schrödinger cat states and quantum gate generalization. The presented proposal will pave a way to further study the stronger anisotropic Rabi model whose coupling strength is far away from ultrastrong coupling and deep-strong coupling regimes in quantum optics.

Multi-qubit Quantum Rabi Model and Multi-partite Entangled States in a Circuit QED System

Multi-qubit quantum Rabi model, which is a fundamental model describing light-matter interaction, plays an important role in various physical systems. In this paper, we propose a theoretical method to simulate multi-qubit quantum Rabi model in a circuit quantum electrodynamics system. By means of external transversal and longitudinal driving fields, an effective Hamiltonian describing the multi-qubit quantum Rabi model is derived. The effective frequency of the resonator and the effective splitting of the qubits depend on the external driving fields. By adjusting the frequencies and the amplitudes of the driving fields, the stronger coupling regimes could be reached. The numerical simulation shows that our proposal works well in a wide range of parameter space. Moreover, our scheme can be utilized to generate two-qubit gate, Schrödinger states, and multi-qubit GHZ states. The maximum displacement of the Schrödinger cat states can be enhanced by increasing the number of the qubits and the relative coupling strength. It should be mention that we can obtain high fidelity Schrödinger cat states and multi-qubit GHZ states even the system suffering dissipation. The presented proposal may open a way to study the stronger coupling regimes whose coupling strength is far away from ultrastrong coupling regimes.

Conditional displacement interaction in ultrastrong-coupling regime

We investigate the realization of conditional displacement interaction in the transversal direction in ultrastrongly coupled circuit quantum electrodynamics by adjusting parameters of external magnetic fields. The special interaction is derived in the system of charge qubit(s) coupled to a LC resonator. We consolidate the implementation of quantum gates and the generation of superposed coherent states based on the transversal conditional displacement interaction numerically. The conditional displacement interaction in the ultrastrong coupling regime enhances quantum process to operate at the time scale of nanoseconds.

Quantum-enhanced metrology without entanglement based on optical cavities with feedback

There are a number of different strategies to measure the phase shift between two pathways of light more efficiently than suggested by the standard quantum limit. One way is to use highly entangled photons. Another way is to expose photons to a non-linear or interacting Hamiltonian. This paper emphasises that the conditional dynamics of open quantum systems provides an interesting additional tool for quantum-enhanced metrology. As a concrete example, we review a recent scheme which exploits the conditional dynamics of a laser-driven optical cavity with spontaneous photon emission inside a quantum feedback loop. Deducing information from second-order photon correlation measurements requires neither optical non-linearities nor entangled photons and should therefore be of immediate practical interest.
