Bremermann's limit in cGh-physics

Do physical laws limit the speed of "all data processing systems, manmade as well as biological"? This question proposed and positively answered by H. J. Bremermann in 1962, should be corrected to make it compatible with Einstein's theory of gravity (aka General Relativity, or GR). As a result, the Bremermann's limit, proportional to mass M of any computer, Mc^2/h = ~ (M/gram)10^47 bits per second, should be replaced by the absolute limit (c^5/Gh)^1/2= ~ 10^43 bits per second, where the universal constants c, G, and h are the speed of light, the gravitational constant, and Planck's constant.

Different minds in the jigsaw puzzle of H-bomb story

The Super-bomb issue contained two problems: feasibility of physical engineering and political need to get H-bomb ASAP. And there were two radically different assessments of these problems by outstanding physicists Hans Bethe and Edward Teller, connected by many years of personal friendship and engaged in the US nuclear project from the very beginning, as the head of the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos and the leading figure in thermonuclear research. This puzzle is solved by using the history of the Soviet H-bomb, in particular the declassified documents on the role of Klaus Fuchs.

A new answer to the Needham Question, or Who, how and why did invent the modern physics?

The cultural infrastructure that let Galileo invent the modern physics is discussed. The key new element of modern physics was firm belief in its fundamental structure, which could be expressed in the double postulate: 1) There are fundamental axioms that all the physical laws could be deduced from; those axioms are not evident, as invisible as the underground foundation stones, or, in Latin, fundamentum; 2) The human mind is able to probe into this fundamental level of the Universe to understand its working, and any person is free to contribute in the process of this probing and understanding. Experimentalism and mathematization were just the tools to realize this belief. The modern science was invented in the time when the Bible played the most prominent cultural role in its history due to Gutenberg and Reformation. All the originators of the modern physics were profound biblical believers, and for them the fundamental double postulate was supported by the basic postulates of Biblical worldview.
