Charge-Induced Pole Cancellation and Horizon Transitions in Scale-Dependent Gravitational Collapse

We construct a charged Oppenheimer-Snyder-like collapse model in scale-dependent gravity by matching a spatially flat FLRW interior to a charged scale-dependent exterior across a timelike thin shell. The electric charge is confined to the stellar surface, preserving interior homogeneity and isotropy. The exterior geometry is supported by a phenomenological Bianchi-consistent effective source, while the shell dynamics follow from the Israel-Maxwell junction conditions. A barotropic surface equation of state closes the shell system, with a charged-dust shell as the minimal realization. For a negative scale-dependent parameter, $\tilde{\omega}<0$, the exterior contains a finite-radius boundary $x_s$ defined by $D(x_s)=0$. Charge separates the solutions into three regimes. For $0\le q^2 x_s$, the curvature singularity persists with a positive pole and locally outgoing radial null branches exist. Depending on the physical extremality condition $x_e>x_s$, the exterior may contain two simple horizons, one degenerate horizon, or no horizon. These results show that charge qualitatively changes the singular and horizon structure of scale-dependent collapse and provide model-level evidence for horizon shielding in the negative-pole regime.

Resource-Aware Evolutionary Neural Architecture Search for Cardiac MRI Segmentation

Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) segmentation underpins quantitative assessment of ventricular structure and function, yet reliable delineation remains difficult due to low tissue contrast, fuzzy boundaries, and inter scan variability. We present CardiacNAS, an evolutionary neural architecture search (NAS) framework that couples a UNet like supernet with a cardiac aware search space spanning depth width, kernel size, filter size, attention, fusion, activation, dropout, and residual scaling. The search is explicitly resource aware, jointly optimizing dice similarity coefficient (DSC) and 95th percentile Hausdorff distance (HD95) versus model size and floating point operations (FLOPs) under fixed compute budgets. Candidate architectures are instantiated from the supernet, trained with proxy budgets, and evolved through crossover, mutation, and elitist selection. We evaluate on the ACDC dataset and compare against six state of the art methods, using qualitative comparisons, learning curve analyses, and design factor correlation studies. The resulting model attains 93.22% average DSC and 4.73 mm HD95 with 3.58M parameters and 14.56 GFLOPs, demonstrating a favorable accuracy efficiency trade off. Analyses indicate that searched attention and fusion choices, together with residual scaling, contribute to improved boundary fidelity and stability. CardiacNAS offers a principled, resource aware approach to deployable CMR segmentation with transparent reporting of architectural complexity and compute budgets.

Human Activity Recognition Using Tools of Convolutional Neural Networks: A State of the Art Review, Data Sets, Challenges and Future Prospects

Human Activity Recognition (HAR) plays a significant role in the everyday life of people because of its ability to learn extensive high-level information about human activity from wearable or stationary devices. A substantial amount of research has been conducted on HAR and numerous approaches based on deep learning and machine learning have been exploited by the research community to classify human activities. The main goal of this review is to summarize recent works based on a wide range of deep neural networks architecture, namely convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for human activity recognition. The reviewed systems are clustered into four categories depending on the use of input devices like multimodal sensing devices, smartphones, radar, and vision devices. This review describes the performances, strengths, weaknesses, and the used hyperparameters of CNN architectures for each reviewed system with an overview of available public data sources. In addition, a discussion with the current challenges to CNN-based HAR systems is presented. Finally, this review is concluded with some potential future directions that would be of great assistance for the researchers who would like to contribute to this field.

Enhancing safety in water transport system based on Internet of Things for developing countries

Accidents in inland waterways in developing countries are a regular phenomenon throughout the year causing deaths, injuries, monetary loss, and a significant amount of missing people. In consequence, a lot of families are losing their dear ones leading to much misery. The above context demands an intelligent, safe, and reliable water transport system for the developing countries. The concept of Intelligent Transport System (ITS) can be applied to develop such system; however, there are issues with ITS and Internet of Things (IoT) unlocks a new way of developing it. This paper proposes a model to transform the water transport system into an intelligent system based on IoT. IPv6 based machine-to-machine (M2M) protocol, 3G telecommunication technology, and IEEE 802.15.4 network standard play a significant role in this proposed IoT based system.

Smart-Edge-CoCaCo: AI-Enabled Smart Edge with Joint Computation, Caching, and Communication in Heterogeneous IoT

The development of mobile communication technology, hardware, distributed computing, and artificial intelligence (AI) technology has promoted the application of edge computing in the field of heterogeneous Internet of Things (IoT). In order to overcome the defects of the traditional cloud computing model in the era of big data. In this article, we first propose a new AIenabled smart edge with heterogeneous IoT architecture which combines edge computing, caching, and communication. Then, we propose the Smart-Edge-CoCaCo algorithm. To minimize total delay and confirm the computation offloading decision, Smart-Edge-CoCaCo uses joint optimization of the wireless communication model, the collaborative filter caching model in edge cloud, and the computation offloading model. Finally, we built an emotion interaction testbed to perform computational delay experiments in real environments. The experiment results showed that the computation delay of the Smart-Edge-CoCaCo algorithm is lower than that of traditional cloud computing model with the increase of computing task data and the number of concurrent users.

Urban Healthcare Big Data System Based on Crowdsourced and Cloud-Based Air Quality Indicators

The ever-accelerating process of globalization enables more than half the population to live in cities. Thus, the air quality in cities exerts critical influence on the health status of more and more urban residents. In this article, based on urban air quality data collected through meteorological sites, mobile crowdsourcing, and IoT sensing, along with users' body signals, we propose an urban healthcare big data system named UH-BigDataSys. In this article, we first introduce a method of integrating multi-source air quality data for the data preparation of artificial-intelligence-based smart urban services. Then a testbed of UH-BigDataSys is set up with the deployment of air-quality-aware healthcare applications. Finally, we provide health guidance for urban residents in aspects of respiratory diseases, outdoor travel, sleep quality, and so on. The ultimate goal of UH-BigDataSys is for urban residents to lead healthier lives.
