High-frequency asymptotics for subordinated isotropic fields on an Abelian compact group

Let T* be a random field indexed by an Abelian compact group G, and suppose that T* has the form T* = F(T(g)), where T is Gaussian and isotropic. The aim of this paper is to establish high-frequency central limit theorems for the Fourier coefficients associated to T*. The proofs of our main results involve recently established criteria for the weak convergence of multiple Wiener-Itô integrals. Our research is motivated by physical applications, mainly related to the probabilistic modelization of the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation. In this connection, the case of the n-dimensional torus is analyzed in detail.

Stable convergence of generalized stochastic integrals and the principle of conditioning: L^2 theory

Consider generalized adapted stochastic integrals with respect to independently scattered random measures with second moments. We use a decoupling technique, known as the "principle of conditioning", to study their stable convergence towards mixtures of infinitely divisible distributions. Our results apply, in particular, to multiple integrals with respect to independently scattered and square integrable random measures, as well as to Skorohod integrals on abstract Wiener spaces. As a specific application, we establish a Central Limit Theorem for sequences of double integrals with respect to a general Poisson measure, thus extending the results contained in Nualart and Peccati (2005) and Peccati and Tudor (2004) to a non-Gaussian context.

Stable convergence of multiple Wiener-Itô integrals

We prove sufficient conditions, ensuring that a sequence of multiple Wiener-Itô integrals (with respect to a general Gaussian process) converges stably to a mixture of normal distributions. Our key tool is an asymptotic decomposition of contraction kernels, realized by means of increasing families of projection operators. We also use an infinite-dimensional Clark-Ocone formula, as well as a version of the correspondence between "abstract" and "concrete" filtered Wiener spaces, in a spirit similar to Üstünel and Zakai (1997).

Decompositions of stochastic processes based on irreductible group representations

Let G be a topological compact group acting on some space Y. We study a decomposition of Y-indexed stochastic processes, based on the orthogonality relations between the characters of the irreducible representations of G. In the particular case of a Gaussian process with a G-invariant law, such a decomposition gives a very general explanation of a classic identity in law - between quadratic functionals of a Brownian bridge - due to Watson (1961). Several relations with Karhunen-Loève expansions are discussed, and some applications and extensions are given - in particular related to Gaussian processes indexed by a torus.

Anticipating integrals and martingales on the Poisson space

Let $\tilde{N}\_{t}$ be a standard compensated Poisson process on $[0,1]$. We prove a new characterization of anticipating integrals of the Skorohod type with respect to $\tilde{N}$, and use it to obtain several counterparts to well established properties of semimartingale stochastic integrals. In particular we show that, if the integrand is sufficiently regular, anticipating Skorohod integral processes with respect to $\tilde{N}$ admit a pointwise representation as usual Itô integrals in an independently enlarged filtration. We apply such a result to: (i) characterize Skorohod integral processes in terms of products of backward and forward Poisson martingales, (ii) develop a new Itô-type calculus for anticipating integrals on the Poisson space, and (iii) write Burkholder-type inequalities for Skorohod integrals.

Central limit theorems for sequences of multiple stochastic integrals

We characterize the convergence in distribution to a standard normal law for a sequence of multiple stochastic integrals of a fixed order with variance converging to 1. Some applications are given, in particular to study the limiting behavior of quadratic functionals of Gaussian processes.

Martingale structure of Skorohod integral processes

Let the process Y(t) be a Skorohod integral process with respect to Brownian motion. We use a recent result by Tudor (2004), to prove that Y(t) can be represented as the limit of linear combinations of processes that are products of forward and backward Brownian martingales. Such a result is a further step towards the connection between the theory of continuous-time (semi)martingales, and that of anticipating stochastic integration. We establish an explicit link between our results and the classic characterization, due to Duc and Nualart (1990), of the chaotic decomposition of Skorohod integral processes. We also explore the case of Skorohod integral processes that are time-reversed Brownian martingales, and provide an "anticipating" counterpart to the classic Optional Sampling Theorem for Itô stochastic integrals.

Identities in law between quadratic functionals of bivariate Gaussian processes, through Fubini theorems and symmetric projections

We present three new identities in law for quadratic functionals of conditioned bivariate Gaussian processes. In particular, our results provide a two-parameter generalization of a celebrated identity in law, involving the path variance of a Brownian bridge, due to Watson (1961). The proof is based on ideas from a recent note by J. R. Pycke (2005) and on the stochastic Fubini theorem for general Gaussian measures proved in Deheuvels et al. (2004).
