On sharp singular Moser-Trudinger type inequalities and applications to zero mass $(p,Q)$-Laplace subelliptic equations in the Heisenberg group

This article establishes a sharp singular Moser-Trudinger type inequality in a new function space and explores a concentration-compactness principle in the Heisenberg group, inspired by P.\textcolor{blue}{-}L. Lions. We analyze the equivalence of sharp critical and subcritical singular Moser-Trudinger inequalities, focusing on their asymptotic behavior and connections between their suprema. Additionally, we apply the mountain pass theorem to demonstrate the existence of positive ground state solutions for zero mass $(p, Q)$-Laplace subelliptic equations with singular exponential nonlinearity for the following equation: $$ -Δ_{H,p} u-Δ_{H,Q} u=\frac{f(ξ,u)}{r(ξ)^\vartheta}\quad\text{in}\quad \mathbb{H}^n, $$ with $1 0$.

Best Constants for Anisotropic Moser-Trudinger Inequalities with the Exact Growth Condition and Their Applications

We investigate the best constants associated with several types of Moser--Trudinger inequalities within the framework of the Finsler metric in $\mathbb{R}^n$. By employing a convex-symmetrization-free approach, we first establish both the critical and subcritical anisotropic singular Moser--Trudinger inequalities. We further study anisotropic Moser--Trudinger inequalities in both singular and nonsingular cases under the exact growth condition, highlighting the optimality of the best constant as well as the sharp exponent appearing in the denominator. To further enrich the theory, we introduce quasi-conformal-type transformations adapted to the Finsler metric setting to derive several new variants of such inequalities. We also characterize the attainability and nonattainability of maximizers for a generalized version of anisotropic Moser--Trudinger inequalities with the exact growth and explicitly determine the corresponding supremum values. As an application of these inequalities, we analyze the existence and nonexistence of positive ground state solutions to a class of $n$-Finsler-Laplace equations involving constant potential in $\mathbb{R}^n$, where the nonlinearity exhibits a critical exponential growth at infinity.

Concentration Phenomena for $(p,N)$-Laplace Equation Under Discontinuous Nonlinearities and Penalization Method

In this paper, we investigate the existence and concentration of solutions to a $(p,N)$-Laplace equation in $\mathbb{R}^N$ involving a discontinuous nonlinearity and critical exponential growth. To establish the existence of solutions, we employ a penalization technique in the sense of Del Pino and Felmer adapted to a locally Lipschitz functional. Furthermore, by combining variational methods with Moser-type iteration techniques, we obtain the concentration behavior of the solutions. Our results contribute to the study of nonlinear elliptic problems with irregular nonlinearities and critical growth phenomena.

Ground states of elliptic problems over cones

Given a reflexive Banach space $X$, we consider a class of functionals $Φ\in C^1(X,\Re)$ that do not behave in a uniform way, in the sense that the map $t \mapsto Φ(tu)$, $t>0$, does not have a uniform geometry with respect to $u\in X$. Assuming instead such a uniform behavior within an open cone $Y \subset X \setminus \{0\}$, we show that $Φ$ has a ground state relative to $Y$. Some further conditions ensure that this relative ground state is the (absolute) ground state of $Φ$. Several applications to elliptic equations and systems are given.

Multiple positive bound state solutions of a critical Choquard equation

IIn this paper we consider the problem $$ \left\{ \begin{array}{rcl} -Δu+V_λ(x)u=(I_μ*|u|^{2^{*}_μ})|u|^{2^{*}_μ-2}u \ \ \mbox{in} \ \ \mathbb{R}^{N},\\ u>0 \ \ \mbox{in} \ \ \mathbb{R}^{N}, \end{array} \right.\leqno{(P_λ)} $$ where $V_λ=λ+V_{0}$ with $λ\geq 0$, $V_0\in L^{N/2}(\R^N)$, $I_μ=\frac{1}{|x|^μ}$ is the Riesz potential with $0<μ<\min\{N,4\}$ and $2^{*}_μ=\frac{2N-μ}{N-2}$ with $N\geq 3$. Under some smallness assumption on $V_0$ and $λ$ we prove the existence of two positive solutions of $(P_λ)$. In order to prove the main result, we used variational methods combined with degree theory.

Sign-changing solutions for a class of zero mass nonlocal Schrödinger equations

We consider the following class of fractional Schrödinger equations $$ (-Δ)^α u + V(x)u = K(x) f(u) \mbox{in} \mathbb{R}^{N} $$ where $α\in (0, 1)$, $N>2α$, $(-Δ)^α$ is the fractional Laplacian, $V$ and $K$ are positive continuous functions which vanish at infinity, and $f$ is a continuous function. By using a minimization argument and a quantitative deformation lemma, we obtain the existence of a sign-changing solution. Furthermore, when $f$ is odd, we prove that the above problem admits infinitely many nontrivial solutions. Our result extends to the fractional framework some well-known theorems proved for elliptic equations in the classical setting. With respect to these cases studied in the literature, the nonlocal one considered here presents some additional difficulties, such as the lack of decompositions involving positive and negative parts, and the non-differentiability of the Nehari Manifold, so that a careful analysis of the fractional spaces involved is necessary.

Existence and profile of ground-state solutions to a $1-$Laplacian problem in $\mathbb{R}^N$

In this work we prove the existence of ground state solutions for the following class of problems \begin{equation*} \left\{ \begin{array}{ll} \displaystyle - Δ_1 u + (1 + λV(x))\frac{u}{|u|} & = f(u), \quad x \in \mathbb{R}^N, \\ u \in BV(\mathbb{R}^N), & \end{array} \right. \label{Pintro} \end{equation*} \end{abstract} where $λ> 0$, $Δ_1$ denotes the $1-$Laplacian operator which is formally defined by $Δ_1 u = \mbox{div}(\nabla u/|\nabla u|)$, $V:\mathbb{R}^N \to \mathbb{R}$ is a potential satisfying some conditions and $f:\mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}$ is a subcritical and superlinear nonlinearity. We prove that for $λ> 0$ large enough there exists ground-state solutions and, as $λ\to +\infty$, such solutions converges to a ground-state solution of the limit problem in $Ω= \mbox{int}( V^{-1}(\{0\}))$.

Quasilinear Schrödinger-Poisson system under an exponential critical nonlinearity: existence and asymptotic of solutions

In this paper we consider the following quasilinear Schrödinger-Poisson system in a bounded domain in $\mathbb{R}^{2}$: $$ \left\{ \begin{array}[c]{ll} - Δu +ϕu = f(u) &\ \mbox{in } Ω, -Δϕ- \varepsilon^{4}Δ_4 ϕ= u^{2} & \ \mbox{in } Ω, u=ϕ=0 & \ \mbox{on } \partialΩ\end{array} \right. $$ depending on the parameter $\varepsilon>0$. The nonlinearity $f$ is assumed to have critical exponencial growth. We first prove existence of nontrivial solutions $(u_{\varepsilon}, ϕ_{\varepsilon})$ and then we show that as $\varepsilon\to0^{+}$ these solutions converges to a nontrivial solution of the associated Schrödinger-Poisson system, that is by making $\varepsilon=0$ in the system above.

Multiplicity of positive solutions for a quasilinear Schrödinger equation with an almost critical nonlinearity

In this paper we prove an existence result of multiple positive solutions for the following quasilinear problem \begin{equation*} \left\{ \begin{array}[c]{ll} -Δu - Δ(u^2)u = |u|^{p-2}u & \mbox{ in } Ωu= 0 &\mbox{ on } \partialΩ, \end{array} \right. \end{equation*} where $Ω$ is a smooth and bounded domain in $\mathbb R^{N},N\geq3$. More specifically we prove that, for $p$ near the critical exponent $22^{*}=4N/(N-2)$, the number of positive solutions is estimated below by topological invariants of the domain $Ω$: the Ljusternick-Schnirelmann category and the Poincaré polynomial.

Ground state solutions for a fractional Schrödinger equation with critical growth

In this paper we investigate the existence of nontrivial ground state solutions for the following fractional scalar field equation \begin{align*} (-Δ)^{s} u+V(x)u= f(u) \mbox{ in } \mathbb{R}^{N}, \end{align*} where $s\in (0,1)$, $N> 2s$, $(-Δ)^{s}$ is the fractional Laplacian, $V: \mathbb{R}^{N}\rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ is a bounded potential satisfying suitable assumptions, and $f\in C^{1, β}(\mathbb{R}, \mathbb{R})$ has critical growth. We first analyze the case $V$ constant, and then we develop a Jeanjean-Tanaka argument \cite{JT} to deal with the non autonomous case. As far as we know, all results presented here are new.

Existence and asymptotic behaviour of solutions for a quasi-linear schrodinger-poisson system under a critical nonlinearity

In this paper we consider the following quasilinear Schrödinger-Poisson system $$ \left\{ \begin{array}[c]{ll} - Δu +u+ϕu = λf(x,u)+|u|^{2^{*}-2}u &\ \mbox{in } \mathbb{R}^{3} \\ -Δϕ-\varepsilon^{4} Δ_4 ϕ= u^{2} & \ \mbox{in } \mathbb{R}^{3}, \end{array} \right. $$ depending on the two parameters $λ,\varepsilon>0$. We first prove that, for $λ$ larger then a certain $λ^{*}>0$, there exists a solution for every $\varepsilon>0$. Later, we study the asymptotic behaviour of these solutions whenever $\varepsilon$ tends to zero, and we prove that they converge to the solution of the Schrödinger-Poisson system associated.

Ground state solutions for fractional scalar field equations under a general critical nonlinearity

In this paper we study existence of ground state solution to the following problem $$ (- Δ)^αu = g(u) \ \ \mbox{in} \ \ \mathbb{R}^{N}, \ \ u \in H^α(\mathbb R^N) $$ where $(-Δ)^α$ is the fractional Laplacian, $α\in (0,1)$. We treat both cases $N\geq2$ and $N=1$ with $α=1/2$. The function $g$ is a general nonlinearity of Berestycki-Lions type which is allowed to have critical growth: polynomial in case $N\geq2$, exponential if $N=1$.
