Borderline gradient continuity of minima

The gradient of any local minimiser of functionals of the type $$ w \mapsto \int_Ωf(x,w,Dw)\,dx+\int_Ωwμ\,dx, $$ where $f$ has $p$-growth, $p>1$, and $Ω\subset \mathbb R^n$, is continuous provided the optimal Lorentz space condition $μ\in L(n,1)$ is satisfied and $x\to f(x, \cdot)$ is suitably Dini-continuous.

Nonlocal equations with measure data

We develop an existence, regularity and potential theory for nonlinear integrodifferential equations involving measure data. The nonlocal elliptic operators considered are possibly degenerate and cover the case of the fractional $p$-Laplacean operator with measurable coefficients. We introduce a natural function class where we solve the Dirichlet problem, and prove basic and optimal nonlinear Wolff potential estimates for solutions. These are the exact analogs of the results valid in the case of local quasilinear degenerate equations established by Boccardo & Gallouët \cite{BG1, BG2} and Kilpeläinen & Malý \cite{KM1, KM2}. As a consequence, we establish a number of results which can be considered as basic building blocks for a nonlocal, nonlinear potential theory: fine properties of solutions, Calderón-Zygmund estimates, continuity and boundedness criteria are established via Wolff potentials. %In particular, optimal Lorentz spaces continuity criteria follow. A main tool is the introduction of a global excess functional that allows to prove a nonlocal analog of the classical theory due to Campanato \cite{camp}. Our results cover the case of linear nonlocal equations with measurable coefficients, and the one of the fractional Laplacean, and are new already in such cases.

Riesz potentials and nonlinear parabolic equations

The spatial gradient of solutions to nonlinear degenerate parabolic equations can be pointwise estimated by the caloric Riesz potential of the right hand side datum, exactly as in the case of the heat equation. Heat kernels type estimates persist in the nonlinear case

Gradient estimates via non-linear potentials

We present pointwise gradient bounds for solutions to $p$-Laplacean type non-homogeneous equations employing non-linear Wolff type potentials, and then prove similar bounds, via suitable caloric potentials, for solutions to parabolic equations.

Local Lipschitz regularity for degenerate elliptic systems

We start presenting an $L^{\infty}$-gradient bound for solutions to non-homogeneous $p$-Laplacean type systems and equations, via suitable non-linear potentials of the right hand side. Such a bound implies a Lorentz space characterization of Lipschitz regularity of solutions which surprisingly turns out to be independent of $p$, and that reveals to be the same classical one for the standard Laplacean operator. In turn, the a priori estimates derived imply the existence of locally Lipschitz regular solutions to certain degenerate systems with critical growth of the type arising when considering geometric analysis problems, as recently emphasized by Rivière

Gradient estimates in non-linear potential theory

We present pointwise gradient bounds for solutions to $p$-Laplacean type non-homogeneous equations employing non-linear Wolff type potentials, and then prove similar bounds, via suitable caloric potentials, for solutions to parabolic equations. A method of proof entails a family of non-local Caccioppoli inequalities, together with a DeGiorgi's type fractional iteration.

Gradient regularity for elliptic equations in the Heisenberg Group

We give dimension-free regularity conditions for a class of possibly degenerate sub-elliptic equations in the Heisenberg group exhibiting super-quadratic growth in the horizontal gradient; this solves an issue raised by Manfredi & Mingione (Math. Ann. 2007) where only dimension dependent bounds for the growth exponent are given. We also obtain explicit a priori local regularity estimates, and cover the case of the horizontal p-Laplacean operator, extending some regularity proven by Domokos & Manfredi (Cont. Math. 2005). In turn, the a priori estimates found are shown to imply the suitable local Calderon-Zygmund theory for the related class of non-homogeneous, possibly degenerate equations involving discontinuous coefficients. These last results extend to the sub-elliptic setting a few classical non-linear Euclidean results of Iwaniec and Dibenedetto & Manfredi, and to the non-linear case estimates of the same nature that were available in the sub-elliptic setting only for solutions to linear equations.

The Calderón-Zygmund theory for elliptic problems with measure data

We consider non-linear elliptic equations having a measure in the right hand side, of the type $ \divo a(x,Du)=μ, $ and prove differentiability and integrability results for solutions. New estimates in Marcinkiewicz spaces are also given, and the impact of the measure datum density properties on the regularity of solutions is analyzed in order to build a suitable Calderón-Zygmund theory for the problem. All the regularity results presented in this paper are provided together with explicit local a priori estimates.
