Analytical calculation of the observational parameters for tachyon inflation

We investigate the possibility of analytically calculating observational parameters in tachyon inflation cosmology, using the Hubble expansion rate as a function of the tachyon field. First, in light of the newer Planck results, we analyze previous investigations in which the test Hubble rate functions were confronted with Planck 2013 data. We propose and analyze a number of new test Hubble rate functions, finding considerable improvement and approaching reasonable agreement with recent observational data. For a class of these functions, we were able to carry out analytical calculations. As a novelty, we introduce a functional dependence of the slow-roll Hubble flow parameters as an input, which facilitates an analytical study of inflation. In this way, we obtain explicit expressions for the scalar spectral index ($n_{\rm s}$) and the tensor-to-scalar ratio ($r$). We confront our analytical and numerical predictions with Planck observational constraints. Finally, we discuss the proposed linear dependence between the first two slow-roll parameters in light of recent data from ACT DR6, DESI, and others, as well as the potential to generalize this dependence to other inflation models.

Primordial black hole formation in k-inflation models

The local primordial density fluctuations caused by quantum vacuum fluctuations during inflation grow into stars and galaxies in the late universe and, if they are large enough, also produce primordial black holes. We study the formation of the primordial black holes in $k$-essence inflation models with a potential characterized by an inflection point. The background and perturbation equations are integrated numerically for two specific models. Using the critical collapse and peaks formalism, we calculate the abundance of primordial black holes today.

A scaling invariance of the perturbations in $k$-inflation models

We study the background and perturbations in $k$-essence inflation models and show that a general $k$-essence exhibits a simple scaling property. In particular, we study two classes of $k$-inflation models with the potential characterized by an inflection point. We demonstrate that these models enjoy scaling properties that could be used to redefine input parameters so that the perturbation spectra satisfy correct normalization at the CMB pivot scale. The background and perturbation equations are integrated numerically for two specific models.

Constant-roll inflation with tachyon field in the holographic braneworld

We study inflation driven by the tachyon field in the holographic braneworld by assuming the second slow-roll parameter $η$ is constant. The parameter $η$ can be either defined by the tachyon scalar field and the Hubble parameter or by the Hubble parameter only. By assuming a constant $η$, we derive and numerically solve a differential equation for the Hubble expansion rate. We calculate numerically the scalar spectral index and the tensor-to-scalar ratio. We confront the results with the observational data and find some constraints on the free model parameters. The swampland conjectures are discussed in the context of the constant-roll inflation, with some accent on the holographic model.

On attractor behavior in braneworld constant-roll inflation

We investigate in detail the attractor behavior of some inflationary models based on braneworld dynamics under the constant-roll condition. We describe the dynamics of the models, assuming that the second slow-roll parameter remains constant during inflation. We show that the dynamics of the considered models have the property of a cosmological attractor.

Tachyon constant-roll inflation in Randall-Sundrum II cosmology

We study inflation in a model with constant second slow-roll parameter $η$. In this case, the Hubble expansion rate equation has analytical solutions describing four possible, nontrivial inflation scenarios. The evolution of the inflaton governed by a tachyon field is studied in the framework of the standard and Randall-Sundrum II cosmology. The attractor behavior of the solution is briefly demonstrated. Finally, the calculated values of the parameters $n_{\rm s}$ and $r$ are compared with observational data.

Cold Atoms in Space: Community Workshop Summary and Proposed Road-Map

We summarize the discussions at a virtual Community Workshop on Cold Atoms in Space concerning the status of cold atom technologies, the prospective scientific and societal opportunities offered by their deployment in space, and the developments needed before cold atoms could be operated in space. The cold atom technologies discussed include atomic clocks, quantum gravimeters and accelerometers, and atom interferometers. Prospective applications include metrology, geodesy and measurement of terrestrial mass change due to, e.g., climate change, and fundamental science experiments such as tests of the equivalence principle, searches for dark matter, measurements of gravitational waves and tests of quantum mechanics. We review the current status of cold atom technologies and outline the requirements for their space qualification, including the development paths and the corresponding technical milestones, and identifying possible pathfinder missions to pave the way for missions to exploit the full potential of cold atoms in space. Finally, we present a first draft of a possible road-map for achieving these goals, that we propose for discussion by the interested cold atom, Earth Observation, fundamental physics and other prospective scientific user communities, together with ESA and national space and research funding agencies.

Inflationary RSII Model with a Matter in the Bulk and Exponential Potential of Tachyon Field

In this paper we study a tachyon cosmological model based on dynamics of a 3-brane in the second Randall-Sundrum (RSII) model extended to include matter in the bulk. The presence of matter in the bulk changes warp factor which leads to modification of inflationary dynamics. The additional brane behaves effectively as a tachyon. We calculate numerically observation parameters of inflation: the scalar spectral index ($n_s$) and the tensor-to-scalar ratio ($r$) for the exponential potential of tachyon field.

Tachyon inflation in the holographic braneworld

A model of tachyon inflation is proposed in the framework of holographic cosmology. The model is based on a holographic braneworld scenario with a D3-brane located at the holographic boundary of an asymptotic ADS$_5$ bulk. The tachyon field that drives inflation is represented by a DBI action on the brane. We solve the evolution equations analytically in the slow-roll regime and solve the exact equations numerically. We calculate the inflation parameters and compare the results with Planck 2018 data.

Numerical Calculation of Hubble Hierarchy Parameters and Observational Parameters of Inflation

We present results obtained by a software we developed for computing observational cosmological inflation parameters: the scalar spectral index ($n_s$) and the tensor-to-scalar ratio ($r$) for a standard single field and tachyon inflation, as well as for a tachyon inflation in the second Randall-Sundrum model with an additional radion field. The calculated numerical values of observational parameters are compared with the latest results of observations obtained by the Planck Collaboration. The program is written in C/C++. The \textit{GNU Scientific Library} is used for some of the numerical computations and R language is used for data analysis and plots.

Particle creation and reheating in a braneworld inflationary scenario

We study the cosmological particle creation in the tachyon inflation based on the D-brane dynamics in the RSII model extended to include matter in the bulk. The presence of matter modifies the warp factor which results in two effects: a modification of the RSII cosmology and a modification of the tachyon potential. Besides, a string theory D-brane supports among other fields a U(1) gauge field reflecting open strings attached to the brane. We demonstrate how the interaction of the tachyon with the U(1) gauge field drives cosmological creation of massless particles and estimate the resulting reheating at the end of inflation.

Tachyon with an inverse power-law potential in a braneworld cosmology

We study a tachyon cosmological model based on the dynamics of a 3-brane in the bulk of the second Randall-Sundrum model extended to more general warp functions. A well known prototype of such a generalization is the bulk with a selfinteracting scalar field. As a consequence of a generalized bulk geometry the cosmology on the observer brane is modified by the scale dependent four-dimensional gravitational constant. In particular we study a power law warp factor which generates an inverse power-law potential $V\propto φ^{-n}$ of the tachyon field $φ$. We find a critical power $n_{\rm cr}$ that divides two subclasses with distinct asymptotic behaviors: a dust universe for $n>n_{\rm cr}$ and a quasi de Sitter universe for $0<n<n_{\rm cr}$.

Classicalization and Quantization of Tachyon-like Matter on (non)Archimedean Spaces

We consider a class of tachyon-like potentials, inspired by string theory, D-brane dynamics and cosmology in the context of classical and quantum mechanics. Motivated by the trans-Plankcian problem in the very early stage of cosmological evolution of the Universe, we consider the theoretical role of DBI-type tachyon scalar field, defined over the field of real as well as $p$-adic numbers, i.e. archemedean and nonarchimedean spaces. To simplify the equation of motion for the scalar field, canonical transformations are defined and engaged. The corresponding quantum propagators in the Feynman path integral approach on real and nonarchimedean spaces are calculated and discussed, as are possibilities for a quantum adelic generalization and its application.

Two-oscillator Kantowski-Sachs model of the Schwarzschild black hole interior

In this paper the interior of the Schwarzschild black hole, which is presented as a vacuum homogeneous and anisotropic Kantowski-Sachs minisuperspace cosmological model, is considered. Lagrangian of the model is reduced by a suitable coordinate transformation to Lagrangian of two decoupled oscillators with the same frequencies and with zero energy in total (an oscillator-ghost-oscillator system). The model will be presented in a classical, a p-adic and a noncommutative case. Then, within the standard quantum approach Wheeler-DeWitt equation and its general solutions, i.e. a wave function of the model, will be written, and then an adelic wave function will be constructed. Finally, thermodynamics of the model will be studied by using the Feynman-Hibbs procedure.

Noncommutativity and Humanity -- Julius Wess and his Legacy

A personal view on Julius Wess's human and scientific legacy in Serbia and the Balkan region is given. Motivation for using noncommutative and nonarchimedean geometry on very short distances is presented. In addition to some mathematical preliminaries, we present a short introduction in adelic quantum mechanics in a way suitable for its noncommutative generalization. We also review the basic ideas and tools embedded in $q$-deformed and noncommutative quantum mechanics. A rather fundamental approach, called deformation quantization, is noted. A few relations between noncommutativity and nonarchimedean spaces, as well as similarities between corresponding quantum theories, in particular, quantum cosmology are pointed out. An extended Moyal product in a frame of an adelic noncommutative quantum mechanics is also considered.

Evaluation of High School Programme for Gifted Pupils in Physics and Sciences in Serbia - Experience in Regional Cooperation -- SEENET-MTP Network

The "High school class for students with special abilities in physics" was founded in Nis, Serbia (http://tesla.pmf.ni.ac.rs/f_odeljenje/) in 2003. The basic aim of this project has been introducing a broadened curriculum of physics, mathematics, computer science, as well as chemistry and biology. Now, eight years after establishing of this specialized class, we present analyses of the pupils' skills in solving rather problem oriented test, as PISA test, and compare their results with the results of pupils who study under standard curricula. Also, an external evaluation conducted more recently, shows that Special physics class students performed higher on science knowledge test in comparison with students from control groups (grammar school and special math class students). Establishing of the Special physics class as an interesting educational experiment and its development has been connected, in a sense, with activities of the Southeastern European Network in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics. We present the main achievements of the Network and their possible impact to the students. We make conclusions and remarks that may be useful for the future work that aims to increase pupils' intrinsic and instrumental motivation for physics and sciences, as well as to increase the efficacy of teaching physics and science.

On Some Accelerating Cosmological Kaluza-Klein Models

We consider (4+D)-dimensional Kaluza-Klein cosmological model with two scaling factors, as real, p-adic and adelic quantum mechanical one. One of the scaling factors corresponds to the D-dimensional internal space, and second one to the 4-dimensional universe. In standard quantum cosmology, i.e. over the field of real numbers R, it leads to dynamical compactification of additional dimensions and to the accelerating evolution of 4-dimensional universe. We construct corresponding $p$-adic quantum model and explore existence of its p-adic ground state. In addition, we explore evolution of this model and a possibility for its adelic generalization. It is necessary for the further investigation of space-time discreteness at very short distances, i.e. in a very early universe
