Thirty-three deformation classes of compact hyperkähler orbifolds

As their smooth analogue the irreducible symplectic varieties appear as elementary bricks in the generalizations of the Bogomolov decomposition theorem (arXiv:math/0402243, arXiv:2012.00441). Let $S$ be a K3 surface; generalizing the Fujiki construction, we investigate the irreducible symplectic varieties with simply connected smooth locus that can be obtained as terminalizations of quotients of the product $S^{n}$. In dimension 4, we compute the singularities for 29 orbifolds examples which appear to be independent under deformation. We also provide 4 additional orbifolds examples in dimension 6.

Automorphisms of Nikulin-type orbifolds

Nikulin-type orbifolds are certain singular 4-dimensional irreducible holomorphic symplectic varieties. We show that the monodromy group of Nikulin-type orbifolds is maximal and classify finite order symplectic automorphisms up to deformation in terms of their action on the second integral cohomology group.

Anti-symplectic involutions on moduli spaces of sheaves on K3 surfaces via auto-equivalences

We provide new examples of anti-symplectic involutions on moduli spaces of stable sheaves on K3 surfaces. These involutions are constructed through (anti) autoequivalences of the bounded derived category of coherent sheaves on K3 surfaces arising from spherical bundles. We analyze these induced maps in the moduli space, imposing restrictions on the Mukai vector and considering the preservation of stability conditions. Our construction extends and unifies classical examples, such as the Beauville involutions, Markman-O'Grady reflections and a more recent construction by Beri-Manivel.

On the Kähler cone of irreducible symplectic orbifolds

We generalize the Hodge version of the global Torelli theorem in the framework of irreducible symplectic orbifolds. We also propose a generalization of several results related to the Kähler cone and the notion of wall divisors introduced in the smooth case by Mongardi. As an application we propose a definition of the mirror symmetry as an involution on a moduli space; this construction is also new in the smooth case.

Wall divisors on irreducible symplectic orbifolds of Nikulin-type

We determine the wall divisors on irreducible symplectic orbifolds which are deformation equivalent to a special type of examples, called Nikulin orbifolds. The Nikulin orbifolds are obtained as partial resolutions in codimension 2 of a quotient by a symplectic involution of a Hilbert scheme of 2 points on a K3 surface. This builds on the previous article arXiv:2009.04873 in which the theory of wall divisors was generalized to orbifold singularities.

Integral cohomology of quotients via toric geometry

We describe the integral cohomology of $X/G$ where $X$ is a compact complex manifold and $G$ a cyclic group of prime order with only isolated fixed points. As a preliminary step, we investigate the integral cohomology of toric blow-ups of quotients of $\mathbb{C}^n$. We also provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the spectral sequence of equivariant cohomology of $(X,G)$ to degenerate at the second page. As an application, we compute the Beauville--Bogomolov form of $X/G$ when $X$ is a Hilbert scheme of points on a K3 surface and $G$ a symplectic automorphism group of orders 5 or 7.

On the Betti numbers of compact holomorphic symplectic orbifolds of dimension four

We extend a result of Guan by showing that the second Betti number of a 4-dimensional primitively symplectic orbifold is at most 23 and there are at most 91 singular points. The maximal possibility 23 can only occur in the smooth case. In addition to the known smooth examples with second Betti numbers 7 and 23, we provide examples of such orbifolds with second Betti numbers 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14 and 16. In an appendix, we extend Salamon's relation among Betti/Hodge numbers of symplectic manifolds to symplectic orbifolds.

Global Torelli theorem for irreducible symplectic orbifolds

We propose a generalization of Verbitsky's global Torelli theorem in the framework of compact Kähler irreducible holomorphically symplectic orbifolds by adapting Huybrechts' proof (arXiv:1106.5573). As intermediate step needed, we also provide a generalization of the twistor space and the projectivity criterion based on works of Campana (arXiv:math/0402243) and Huybrechts (arXiv:math/0106014) respectively.

Construction of G_2-instantons via twisted connected sums

We propose a method to construct G_2-instantons over a compact twisted connected sum G_2-manifold, applying a gluing result of Sá Earp and Walpuski to instantons over a pair of 7-manifolds with a tubular end (see arXiv:1310.7933). In our example, the moduli spaces of the ingredient instantons are non-trivial, and their images in the moduli space over the asymptotic cross-section K3 surface intersect transversely. Such a pair of asymptotically stable holomorphic bundles is obtained using a twisted version of the Hartshorne-Serre construction, which can be adapted to produce other examples. Moreover, their deformation theory and asymptotic behaviour are explicitly understood, results which may be of independent interest.

On the integral cohomology of quotients of manifolds by cyclic groups

We propose new tools based on basic lattice theory to calculate the integral cohomology of the quotient of a manifold by an automorphism group of prime order. As examples of applications, we provide the Beauville--Bogomolov forms of some irreducible symplectic orbifolds; we also show a new expression for a basis of the integral cohomology of a Hilbert scheme of two points on a surface.

Brane involutions on irreducible holomorphic symplectic manifolds

In the context of irreducible holomorphic symplectic manifolds, we say that (anti)holomorphic (anti)symplectic involutions are brane involutions since their fixed point locus is a brane in the physicists' language, i.e. a submanifold which is either complex or lagrangian submanifold with respect to each of the three Kähler structures of the associated hyperkähler structure. Starting from a brane involution on a K3 or abelian surface, one can construct a natural brane involution on its moduli space of sheaves. We study these natural involutions and their relation with the Fourier--Mukai transform. Later, we recall the lattice-theoretical approach to Mirror Symmetry. We provide two ways of obtaining a brane involution on the mirror and we study the behaviour of the brane involutions under both mirror transformations, giving examples in the case of a K3 surface and $K3^{[2]}$-type manifolds.

Integral cohomology of the Generalized Kummer fourfold

We describe the integral cohomology of the Generalized Kummer fourfold giving an explicit basis, using Hilbert scheme cohomology and tools developed by Hassett and Tschinkel. Then we apply our results to a IHS variety with singularities, obtained by a partial resolution of the Generalized Kummer quotiented by a symplectic involution. We calculate the Beauville--Bogomolov form of this new variety, presenting the first example of such a form that is odd.

Compact hyper-Kähler categories

We define and study the notion of hyper-Kähler category. On the theoretical side, we focus on construction techniques and deformation theory of such categories. We also study in details some examples : non-commutative Hilbert schemes of points on a K3 surface and a categorical resolution of a relative compactified Prymian constructed by Markushevich and Tikhomirov.

Holomorphic bundles for higher dimensional gauge theory

Motivated by gauge theory under special holonomy, we present techniques to produce holomorphic bundles over certain noncompact $3-$folds, called building blocks, satisfying a stability condition `at infinity'. Such bundles are known to parametrise solutions of the Yang-Mills equation over the $\rm G_2-$manifolds obtained from asymptotically cylindrical Calabi-Yau $3-$folds studied by Kovalev and by Corti-Haskins-Nordström-Pacini et al. The most important tool is a generalisation of Hoppe's stability criterion to holomorphic bundles over smooth projective varieties $X$ with $\operatorname{Pic}{X}\simeq\mathbb{Z}^l$, a result which may be of independent interest. Finally, we apply monads to produce a prototypical model of the curvature blow-up phenomenon along a sequence of asymptotically stable bundles degenerating into a torsion-free sheaf.

Beauville-Bogomolov lattice for a singular symplectic variety of dimension 4

The Beauville-Bogomolov lattice is computed for a simplest singular symplectic manifold of dimension 4, obtained as a partial desingularization of the quotient $S^{[2]}/ι$, where $S^{[2]}$ is the Hilbert square of a K3 surface $S$ and $ι$ is a symplectic involution on it. This result applies, in particular, to the singular symplectic manifolds of dimension 4, constructed by Markushevich-Tikhomirov as compactifications of families of Prym varieties of a linear system of curves on a K3 surface with an anti-symplectic involution.

Duality for relative Prymians associated to K3 double covers of del Pezzo surface of degree 2

Markushevich and Tikhomirov provided a construction of an irreducible symplectic V-manifold of dimension 4, the relative compactified Prym variety of a family of curves with involution, which is a Lagrangian fibration with polarization of type (1,2). We give a characterization of the dual Lagrangian fibration. We also identify the moduli space of Lagrangian fibrations of this type and show that the duality defines a rational involution on it.
