The Four-Point Picard Theorem for Quaternionic Slice Regular Functions

An entire slice regular function $f:\mathbb H\to\mathbb H$ can omit four prescribed quaternionic values only in the affine-dependent case. More precisely, four affinely independent omitted values force $f$ to be constant, while the converse follows from the plane-omission theorem of Bisi--Winkelmann. The proof passes to the real-symmetric stem function. For each omitted value a quadratic zero-divisor criterion gives a zero-free entire function $Q_j$, and the component normal to the affine span is governed by a square-discriminant identity. Finite-order data are excluded by Hadamard factorization and a rigidity argument on the real axis. In the general case, logarithmic Bloch--Ochiai places the $Q$-curve in a translated algebraic torus. The Laurent-square case reduces to the finite-order contradiction, and the nonsquare case is excluded by an even-ramification argument together with the level-one truncated Second Main Theorem of Noguchi--Winkelmann--Yamanoi.

Slice Fueter-regular functions on arbitrary domains in octonions

This paper is concerned with a class of generalized slice Fueter-regular functions on arbitrary domains in O with local stem functions. Some classical theorems such as the maximum modulus principle will be generalized to our setting. Some new phenomena such as the conditional uniqueness of stem vectors will be discovered by means of new technical tools, e.g., the CCL equivalence relation and the Bers-Vekua continuation. And a natural connection between the theory of slice Fueter-regular functions and that of Riemann domains will be revealed via the quotient space under the CCL equivalence relation.

Octonionic Riesz-Dunford functional calculus

The Riesz-Dunford functional calculus over the algebra of octonions, denoted by $\mathbb{O}$, has long been an open problem due to the nonassociativity of octonions. Two core obstacles hinder its development: first, the generalization of the resolvent operator series identity produces unexpected associator terms that invalidate standard expansions; second, the nonassociativity spoils the analyticity of the resolvent operator, a key property for defining a functional calculus via Cauchy integrals. In this paper, we initiate the study of the Riesz-Dunford functional calculus for bounded power-associative para-linear operators in Banach octonionic bimodules. To address the above issues, we introduce several pivotal concepts: power-associative operators (to eliminate the unwanted associator terms and recover valid resolvent series expansions), the notions of regular inverse of $R_s-T$ for $s\in \O$ (which serve as the octonionic versions of the resolvent operator), $\mathbb{C}_J$-extendable power-associative operators, and $\mathbb{C}_J$-liftable power-associative operators (to characterize the slice regularity of the resolvent operators). Based on these notions, we define two types of octonionic spectra: the pull-back spectrum $\sigma^*(T)$ and the push-forward spectrum $\sigma_*(T)$. These give rise to the left and right slice regular functional calculi of bounded power-associative para-linear operators, respectively. This theory unifies the Riesz-Dunford functional calculus over division algebras ($ \mathbb{C}, \mathbb{H}, \mathbb{O}$) and fills the six-decade-long gap in octonionic (nonassociative) functional analysis.

Octonionic isometric isomorphisms and partial isometry

Very recently, two new notions of para-linear mappings and weak associative orthonormal bases were introduced in octonionic functional analysis, which have been proved to be powerful in formulating the basic theory, such as the Riesz representation theorem and the Parseval theorem. In this article, we continue exploring more properties of these two concepts and initiate the study of octonionic para-linear isometric operators. Surprisingly, it is proven that the condition of the para-linear operator on a Hilbert octonionic bimodule being an isometric isomorphism is equivalent to it mapping any associative orthonormal basis to a weak associative orthonormal basis, which implies also that an octonionic matrix is an isometry if and only if the system of its row vectors is a weak associative orthonormal basis. Furthermore, we introduce the concept of para-linear partial isometric operators and establish the aforementioned analogue in this new setting. Based on these facts, we can provide naturally a new viewpoint of James questions by modifying the definition of octonionic Stiefel space.

Weighted $L^2$ theory for the Euclidean Dirac operator in higher dimensions

We study weighted $L^{2}$ solvability for the Euclidean Dirac operator in dimensions $n\ge 3$. We prove that, on the exterior domain $\mathbb{R}^{n}\setminus\overline{B(0,1)}$ with logarithmic weight $\varphi=n\log|x|$, no higher-dimensional analogue of the two-dimensional H\"ormander estimate can be controlled solely by $\Delta\varphi$; we then establish weighted solvability for the weights $|x|^{m}$ with $m\neq 0$, for the quadratic weight $x_{1}^{2}$, and for sufficiently small anisotropic perturbations of the Gaussian weight, with sharp constant $1/4$ in the Gaussian case. The obstruction arises because, in dimensions $n\ge 3$, the classical weighted identity is coercive only under a structural relation between $\Delta\varphi$ and $|\nabla\varphi|^{2}$, a condition that excludes the Gaussian weight and many polynomial weights. The method is based on a weighted identity for the conjugated unknown $U:=ue^{-\varphi/2}$, together with suitable scalar and Clifford-valued multipliers; this identity yields the required coercive estimates and also gives weighted $L^{2}$ solvability for the Poisson equation through the factorization $\Delta=-D^{2}$.

Octonionic Para-linear Self-Adjoint Operators and Spectral Decomposition

This paper presents a groundbreaking advancement in the theory of operators defined on octonionic Hilbert spaces, successfully resolving a fundamental challenge that has persisted for over six decades. Due to the intrinsic non-associative nature of octonions, conventional linear operator theory encounters profound structural difficulties. We make use of an original conceptual framework termed para-linearity, an innovative generalization of linearity that naturally accommodates the octonionic algebraic structure. Within this newly established paradigm, we systematically develop an appropriate algebraic setting by defining a carefully designed operator algebra and an adjoint operation which, together, recapture essential analytic properties previously inaccessible in this context. We identify a geometric structure, the slice cone, as the fundamental object encoding spectral properties typically derived through sesquilinear forms. We obtain a rigorous characterization of self-adjointness which indicates how to introduce a new notion of strong eigenvalues. For every compact, para-linear, self-adjoint operator with strong eigenvalues, we can establish the spectral decomposition theorem and functional calculi.

Convergence domains of sedenionic star-power series

The theory of slice regular (also called hyperholomorphic) functions is a generalization of complex analysis originally given in the quaternionic framework, and then further extended to Clifford algebras, octonions, and to real alternative algebras. Recently, we have extended this theory to the case of (real) even-dimensional Euclidean space. We provided several tools for studying slice regular functions in this context, such as a path-representation formula, slice-solutions, hyper-solutions and hyper-sigma balls. When adding an algebra structure to Euclidean space we have more properties related to the possibility of multiplying elements in the algebra. In this paper, we focus on exploring the properties specific to the context of the algebra of sedenions which is rather peculiar, being the algebra non associative and non alternative. The consideration of a non alternative algebra is a novelty in the context of slice regularity which opens the way to a number of further progresses. We offer an explicit characterization for slice-solutions and hyper-solutions, and we determine the convergence domain of the power series in the form $q\mapsto\sum_{n\in\mathbb{N}}(q-p)^{*n}a_n$ with sedenionic coefficients. Unlike the case of complex numbers and quaternions, the convergence domain in this context is determined by two convergence radii instead of one. These results are closely tied to the presence of zero divisors in the algebra of sedenions.

Monogenic functions over real alternative *-algebras: fundamental results and applications

The concept of monogenic functions over real alternative $\ast$-algebras has recently been introduced to unify several classical monogenic (or regular) functions theories in hypercomplex analysis, including quaternionic, octonionic, and Clifford analysis. This paper explores the fundamental properties of these monogenic functions, focusing on the Cauchy-Pompeiu integral formula and Taylor series expansion in hypercomplex subspaces, among which the non-commutativity and especially non-associativity of multiplications demand full considerations. The theory presented herein provides a robust framework for understanding monogenic functions in the context of real alternative $\ast$-algebras, shedding light on the interplay between algebraic structures and hypercomplex analysis.

Domains of existence of slice regular functions in one quaternionic variable

Recently, we introduced domains of slice regularity in the space $\mathbb{H}$ of quaternions and also proved that domains of slice regularity satisfy a symmetry with respect to paths, called $2$-path-symmetry. In this paper, we give a full characterization by showing that all $2$-path-symmetric slice-open sets are domains of slice regularity. In fact, we will prove a counterpart of the Cartan-Thullen theorem for slice regular functions, namely that a slice-open set is a domain of existence for some slice regular function if and only if it is a domain of slice regularity, if and only if it is slice-regularly convex, if and only if it is $2$-path-symmetric. As a tool, we also prove an interpolation theorem of independent interest.

Resolving Gilbert's Conjecture: Dimensional Dependencies in Hardy Spaces Valued in Clifford Modules

This article provides a thorough investigation into Gilbert's Conjecture, pertaining to Hardy spaces in the upper half-space valued in Clifford modules. We explore the conjecture proposed by Gilbert in 1991, which seeks to extend the classical principle of representing real $L^p$ functions on the real line as boundary values of Hardy holomorphic functions to higher-dimensional Euclidean spaces valued in any Clifford module. We present a complete resolution to this conjecture, demonstrating that its validity is contingent upon the dimension $n$, specifically holding true when \(n \not\equiv 6, 7 \mod 8\) and failing otherwise. The pivotal discovery that Gilbert's conjecture can be reformulated as a set of algebraic conditions is underscored in this work. To navigate these conditions, we employ a novel strategy that leverages the octonions, revealing their instrumental role in addressing issues related to Clifford modules and spinors. This innovative approach not only provides explicit realization through the generalization of the Hilbert transform to the Riesz transform but also establishes a significant advancement in the understanding of Hardy spaces within higher dimensions.

Explicit Witt basis over the tensor product of Clifford algebras and octonions

In this article, we investigate how the Witt basis serves as a link between real and complex variables in higher-dimensional spaces. Our focus is on the detailed construction of the Witt basis within the tensor product space combining Clifford algebra and multiple octonionic spaces. This construction effectively introduces complex coordinates. The technique is based on a specific subgroup of octonionic automorphisms, distinguished by binary codes. This method allows us to perform a Hermitian analysis of the complex structures within the tensor product space.

Algebra of slice regular functions on non-symmetric domains in several quaternionic variables

The primary objective of this paper is to establish an algebraic framework for the space of weakly slice regular functions over several quaternionic variables. We recently introduced a $*$-product that maintains the path-slice property within the class of path-slice functions. It is noteworthy that this $*$-product is directly applicable to weakly slice regular functions, as every slice regular function defined on a slice-open set inherently possesses path-slice properties. Building on this foundation, we propose a precise definition of an open neighborhood for a path $\gamma$ in the path space $\mathscr{P}(\mathbb{C}^n)$. This definition is pivotal in establishing the holomorphism of stem functions. Consequently, we demonstrate that the $*$-product of two weakly slice regular functions retains its weakly slice regular nature. This retention is facilitated by holomorphy of stem functions and their relationship with weakly slice regular functions, providing a comprehensive algebraic structure for this class of functions.

Zeroes of weakly slice regular functions of several quaternionic variables on non-axially symmetric domains

In this research, we study zeroes of weakly slice regular functions within the framework of several quaternionic variables, specifically focusing on non-axially symmetric domains. Our recent work introduces path-slice stem functions, along with a novel $*$-product, tailored for weakly slice regular functions. This innovation allows us to explore new techniques for conjugating and symmetrizing path-slice functions. A key finding of our study is the discovery that the zeroes of a path-slice function are comprehensively encapsulated within the zeroes of its symmetrized counterpart. This insight is particularly significant in the context of path-slice stem functions. We establish that for weakly slice regular functions, the processes of conjugation and symmetrization gain prominence once the function's slice regularity is affirmed. Furthermore, our investigation sheds light on the intricate nature of the zeroes of a slice regular function. We ascertain that these zeroes constitute a path-slice analytic set. This conclusion is drawn from the observed phenomenon that the zeroes of the symmetrization of a slice regular function also form a path-slice analytic set. This finding marks an advancement in understanding the complex structure and properties of weakly slice regular functions in quaternionic analysis.

Path-slice star-product on non-axially symmetric domains in several quaternionic variables

This paper extends the $*$-product from slice analysis to weakly slice analysis in several quaternionic variables, focusing on non-axially symmetric domains. It diverges from traditional applications in axially symmetric domains to address slice regularity in more complicated cases. The approach involves redefining the $*$-product for path-slice functions, borrowing techniques from strongly slice analysis. Key to this work is the introduction of relative stem-preserving set pairs and real-path-connected sets, which help establish a direct link between path-slice functions and their stem functions. The study culminates in conditions under which weakly slice regular functions form an algebra in specific slice domains, broadening the scope of slice analysis.

Octonionic Dirac operators in bounded lattices: convergence and Plemlj projections

This article explores octonionic analysis on the lattice $\mathbb Z^8$, emphasizing the octonionic discrete Cauchy integral within a bounded domain, the Sokhotski-Plemelj jump formulas, and the convergence of discrete regular functions. We address the challenge of articulating the discrete Cauchy-Pompeiu integral formula, particularly the complexities tied to the associator of octonions. Adopting an innovative approach, we assimilate complicating terms into integral kernels, leading to distinct surface and volume kernels. A new'star product' arises in handling octonionic function multiplications. Our study connects closely with the Teodorescu operator and singular kernel management, utilizing a Fourier variant with 24 unique singular points. Drawing from the foundational work of Shivakumar and Wong about the asymptotic expansion of the Fourier transform, we bridge the relationship between the Cauchy and Teodorescu integrals. This allows us to provide quantitative estimates for these kernels, which prove to be pivotal in the theory of discrete regular extensions. The research culminates in the revelation that a continuous octonionic function is regular precisely when it is a scale limit of discrete regular functions.

Non-associative Categories of Octonionic Bimodules

Category is put to work in the non-associative realm in the article. We focus on a typical example of non-associative category. Its objects are octonionic bimodules, morphisms are octonionic para-linear maps, and compositions are non-associative in general. The octonionic para-linear map is the main object of octonionic Hilbert theory because of the octonionic Riesz representation theorem. An octonionic para-linear map f is in general not octonionic linear since it subjects to the rule Re (f (px)-pf (x))= 0. The composition should be modified so that it preserves the octonionic para-linearity. In this non-associative category, we introduce the Hom and Tensor functors which constitute an adjoint pair. We establish the Yoneda lemma in terms of the new notion of weak functor. To define the exactness in a non-associative category, we introduce the notion of the enveloping category via a universal property. This allows us to establish the exactness of the Hom functor and Tensor functor.

The twisted group algebra structure of the Cayley-Dickson algebra

The Cayley-Dickson algebra has long been a challenge due to the lack of an explicit multiplication table. Despite being constructible through inductive construction, its explicit structure has remained elusive until now. In this article, we propose a solution to this long-standing problem by revealing the Cayley-Dickson algebra as a twisted group algebra with an explicit twist function $\sigma(A,B)$. We show that this function satisfies the equation $$e_Ae_B=(-1)^{\sigma(A,B)}e_{A\oplus B}$$ and provide a formula for the relationship between the Cayley-Dickson algebra and split Cayley-Dickson algebra, thereby giving an explicit expression for the twist function of the split Cayley-Dickson algebra. Our approach not only resolves the lack of explicit structure for the Cayley-Dickson algebra and split Cayley-Dickson algebra but also sheds light on the algebraic structure underlying this fundamental mathematical object.

Structure of octonionic Hilbert spaces with applications in the Parseval equality and Cayley-Dickson algebras

Contrary to the simple structure of the tensor product of the quaternionic Hilbert space, the octonionic situation becomes more involved. It turns out that an octonionic Hilbert space can be decomposed as an orthogonal direct sum of two subspaces, each of them isomorphic to a tensor product of an irreducible octonionic Hilbert space with a real Hilbert space. As an application, we find that for a given orthogonal basis the octonionic Parseval equality holds if and only if the basis is weak associative. Fortunately, there always exists a weak associative orthogonal basis in an octonionic Hilbert space. This completely removes the obstacles caused by the failure of the octonionic Parseval equality. As another application, we provide a new approach to studythe Cayley-Dickson algebras, which turn out to be specific examples of octonionic Hilbert spaces. An explicit weak associative orthonormal basis is constructed in each Cayley-Dickson algebra.
