InsertFuse: A Unified Framework for Multi-Category Reference-Guided Image Insertion

We present InsertFuse, a unified framework for multi-category reference-guided image insertion. Its key idea is to decouple category-specific expertise learning from cross-category capability consolidation. InsertFuse first trains specialized experts for different insertion categories and then introduces Insertion On-Policy Distillation (IOPD) to consolidate their capabilities into a single student. By querying the matched expert at states visited by the student, IOPD preserves category-specific insertion behavior while mitigating the cross-category interference caused by direct joint training. To improve spatial control, we propose Token-Aligned Geometry Conditioning (TAGC), which maps mask-derived geometric cues to the visual token grid, and Region-Balanced Flow Matching, which separately normalizes prediction errors inside and outside the insertion region to prevent background-dominated and scale-dependent supervision. We further introduce Reference CFG to isolate and strengthen the guidance induced by the visual reference under fixed scene and geometry conditions, with IOPD transferring this enhanced supervision into the unified student. Extensive experiments on the public AnyInsertion benchmark and our multi-category test set demonstrate state-of-the-art performance on most metrics, showing strong reference fidelity and generation quality across diverse insertion categories.

STEP-OPD: Rethinking Output Targets and Internal Dynamics in On-Policy Distillation for Diffusion Models

On-policy distillation (OPD) has become an effective approach for consolidating multiple task-specialized image generation models into a single student. However, existing OPD methods optimize the student mainly to match the teacher's output velocity, making the teacher the upper limit of the optimization objective. While output-level supervision alone leaves the student's blockwise representation evolution underconstrained, which weakens the transfer of capabilities that must be progressively developed across layers. We propose STEP-OPD, an on-policy distillation framework for image generation that extends the student's learning target beyond the teacher and introduces explicit constraints on its internal representation evolution. Instead of treating the teacher as the final target, we use the velocity difference between each task-specific teacher and the shared base model as a direction for further learning and add a scaled version of this difference to the teacher velocity. In addition, we align the direction and magnitude of representation changes between the student and teacher, enabling the student to learn how representations are progressively transformed across network blocks. Experiments on compositional alignment, text rendering, and human preference show that our method consistently improves Standard OPD methods. In particular, it increases the GenEval score of DiffusionOPD from 0.927 to 0.961, while also improving OCR and all preference-based metrics. The resulting unified student surpasses the corresponding single-task teachers across all three capability groups, showing that output extrapolation enables beyond-teacher learning. And representation change alignment provides complementary guidance for the student's internal transformations.

A$^2$-Edit: Precise Reference-Guided Image Editing of Arbitrary Objects and Ambiguous Masks

We propose A^2-Edit, a unified inpainting framework for arbitrary object categories, which allows users to replace any target region with a reference object using only a coarse mask. To address the issues of severe homogenization and limited category coverage in existing datasets, we construct a large-scale multi-category dataset, UniEdit-500K, which includes 8 major categories, 209 fine-grained subcategories, and a total of 500,104 image pairs. Such rich category diversity poses new challenges for the model, requiring it to automatically learn semantic relationships and distinctions across categories. To this end, we introduce the Mixture of Transformer module, which performs differentiated modeling of various object categories through dynamic expert selection, and further enhances cross-category semantic transfer and generalization through collaboration among experts. In addition, we propose a Mask Annealing Training Strategy (MATS) that progressively relaxes mask precision during training, reducing the model's reliance on accurate masks and improving robustness across diverse editing tasks. Extensive experiments on benchmarks such as VITON-HD and AnyInsertion demonstrate that A^2-Edit consistently outperforms existing approaches across all metrics, providing a new and efficient solution for arbitrary object editing.

LayerT2V: A Unified Multi-Layer Video Generation Framework

Text-to-video generation has advanced rapidly, but existing methods typically output only the final composited video and lack editable layered representations, limiting their use in professional workflows. We propose \textbf{LayerT2V}, a unified multi-layer video generation framework that produces multiple semantically consistent outputs in a single inference pass: the full video, an independent background layer, and multiple foreground RGB layers with corresponding alpha mattes. Our key insight is that recent video generation backbones use high compression in both time and space, enabling us to serialize multiple layer representations along the temporal dimension and jointly model them on a shared generation trajectory. This turns cross-layer consistency into an intrinsic objective, improving semantic alignment and temporal coherence. To mitigate layer ambiguity and conditional leakage, we augment a shared DiT backbone with LayerAdaLN and layer-aware cross-attention modulation. LayerT2V is trained in three stages: alpha mask VAE adaptation, joint multi-layer learning, and multi-foreground extension. We also introduce \textbf{VidLayer}, the first large-scale dataset for multi-layer video generation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that LayerT2V substantially outperforms prior methods in visual fidelity, temporal consistency, and cross-layer coherence.

FlowDirector: Training-Free Flow Steering for Precise Text-to-Video Editing

Text-driven video editing aims to modify video content based on natural language instructions. While recent training-free methods have leveraged pretrained diffusion models, they often rely on an inversion-editing paradigm. This paradigm maps the video to a latent space before editing. However, the inversion process is not perfectly accurate, often compromising appearance fidelity and motion consistency. To address this, we introduce FlowDirector, a novel training-free and inversion-free video editing framework. Our framework models the editing process as a direct evolution in the data space. It guides the video to transition smoothly along its inherent spatio-temporal manifold using an ordinary differential equation (ODE), thereby avoiding the inaccurate inversion step. From this foundation, we introduce three flow correction strategies for appearance, motion, and stability: 1) Direction-aware flow correction amplifies components that oppose the source direction and removes irrelevant terms, breaking conservative streamlines and enabling stronger structural and textural changes. 2) Motion-appearance decoupling optimizes motion agreement as an energy term at each timestep, significantly improving consistency and motion transfer. 3) Differential averaging guidance strategy leverages differences among multiple candidate flows to approximate a low variance regime at low cost, suppressing artifacts and stabilizing the trajectory. Extensive experiments across various editing tasks and benchmarks demonstrate that FlowDirector achieves state-of-the-art performance in instruction following, temporal consistency, and background preservation, establishing an efficient new paradigm for coherent video editing without inversion.

Dynamic Dense RGB-D SLAM using Learning-based Visual Odometry

We propose a dense dynamic RGB-D SLAM pipeline based on a learning-based visual odometry, TartanVO. TartanVO, like other direct methods rather than feature-based, estimates camera pose through dense optical flow, which only applies to static scenes and disregards dynamic objects. Due to the color constancy assumption, optical flow is not able to differentiate between dynamic and static pixels. Therefore, to reconstruct a static map through such direct methods, our pipeline resolves dynamic/static segmentation by leveraging the optical flow output, and only fuse static points into the map. Moreover, we rerender the input frames such that the dynamic pixels are removed and iteratively pass them back into the visual odometry to refine the pose estimate.
