Is $D^{+}_{sJ}(2632)$ the first radial excitation of $D_{s}^{*}(2112)$?

We present a quantitative analysis of the $D^{+}_{sJ}(2632)$ observed by SELEX mainly focusing on the assumption that $D^{+}_{sJ}(2632)$ is the first radial excitation of the $1^{-}$ ground state $D^{*}_{s}(2112)$. By solving the instantaneous Bethe-Salpeter equation, we obtain the mass $2658\pm 15$ MeV for the first excited state, which is about 26 MeV heavier than the experimental value $2632\pm 1.7$ MeV. By means of PCAC and low-energy theorem we calculate the transition matrix elements and obtain the decay widths: $Γ(D^{+}_{sJ}\to D^{+}_sη)=4.07\pm 0.34$ MeV, $Γ(D^{+}_{sJ}\to D^{0}K^{+}) \simeq Γ(Γ(D^{+}_{sJ}\to D^{+}K^{0})=8.9\pm 1.2$ MeV, and the ratio $Γ(D^{+}_{sJ}\to D^{0}K^{+})/Γ(D^{+}_{sJ}\to D^{+}_{s}η)=2.2\pm 0.2$ as well. This ratio is quite different from the SELEX data $0.14\pm 0.06$. The summed decay width of those three channels is approximately 21.7 MeV, already larger than the observed bound for the full width ($\leq 17$ MeV). Furthermore, assuming $D_{sJ}^+(2632)$ is $1^{-}$ state, we also explore the possibility of $S-D$ wave mixing to explain the SELEX observation. Based on our analysis, we suspect that it is too early to conclude that $D^{+}_{sJ}(2632)$ is the first radial excitation of the $1^{-}$ ground state $D^{*}_{s}(2112)$. More precise measurements of the relative ratios and the total decay width are urgently required especially for $S-D$ wave mixing.

Annihilation Rate of Heavy $0^{-+}$ Quarkonium in Relativistic Salpeter Method

Two-photon and two-gluon annihilation rates of $η_c$, $η'_c$, $η_b$ and $η'_b$ are estimated in the relativistic Salpeter method. By solving the full Salpeter equation with a well defined relativistic wave function, we estimate $M_{η_c}=2.979\pm 0.432$ GeV, $M_{η'_c}=3.566\pm 0.437$ GeV, $M_{η_b}=9.364\pm 1.120$ GeV and $M_{η'_b}=9.941\pm 1.112$ GeV. We calculated the transition amplitude using the Mandelstam formalism and estimate the decay widths: $Γ(η_c \to 2γ)=7.14\pm 0.95$ KeV, $Γ(η'_c \to 2γ)=4.44\pm 0.48$ KeV, $Γ(η_b \to 2γ)=0.384\pm 0.047$ KeV and $Γ(η'_b \to 2γ)=0.191\pm 0.025$ KeV. We also give estimates of total widths by the two-gluon decay rates: $Γ_{tot}(η_c)=19.6\pm 2.6$ MeV, $Γ_{tot}(η'_c)=12.1\pm 1.3$ MeV, $Γ_{tot}(η_b)=6.98\pm 0.85$ MeV and $Γ_{tot}(η_b)=3.47\pm 0.45$ MeV.

Resummed pole mass, static potential, and Upsilon(1S) spectrum

Employing the heavy quark pole mass and static potential that were obtained from resummation of the renormalon-caused large order behavior to all orders, and matching the resummed static potential to the long distance Cornell potential we obtain a new estimate of the bottom quark mass % $m_b^{\bar{\text % MS}}=4.20$ GeV at $α_s(M_z)=0.118$ from $Υ$(1S) system. We point out that the pure perturbative QCD approach to $Υ$(1S) spectrum should have a sizable systematic error of about 100 MeV, due to the absence of the long distance confining potential, and that the incorporation of the latter is essential for accurate determination of the ground state energy. We also recalculate the nonperturbative Leutwyler-Voloshin effect using a resummed octet potential matched to a confining linear potential, and obtain a result that is substantially smaller than the estimates based on Coulombic potentials. The hyperfine splitting is estimated to be $50 \pm 8$ MeV at $α_s(M_z)=0.118$.

Instantaneous Bethe-Salpeter Equation and Its Exact Solution

We present an approach to solve a Bethe-Salpeter (BS) equation exactly without any approximation if the kernel of the BS equation exactly is instantaneous, and take positronium as an example to illustrate the general features of the solutions. As a middle stage, a set of coupled and self-consistent integration equations for a few scalar functions can be equivalently derived from the BS equation always, which are solvable accurately. For positronium, precise corrections to those of the Schrödinger equation in order $v$ (relative velocity) in eigenfunctions, in order $v^2$ in eigenvalues, and the possible mixing, such as that between $S$ ($P$) and $D$ ($F$) components in $J^{PC}=1^{--}$ ($J^{PC}=2^{++}$) states as well, are determined quantitatively. Moreover, we also point out that there is a problematic step in the classical derivation which was proposed first by E.E. Salpeter. Finally, we emphasize that for the effective theories (such as NRQED and NRQCD etc) we should pay great attention on the corrections indicated by the exact solutions.

Decay Constants of Heavy Meson of $0^-$ State in Relativistic Salpeter Method

The decay constants of pseudoscalar heavy mesons of $0^-$ state are computed by means of the relativistic (instantaneous) Salpeter equation. We solved the full Salpeter equation without making any further approximation, such as ignoring the small component wave function. Therefore, our results for the decay constants include the complete relativistic contributions from the light and the heavy quarks. We obtain $F_{D_s} \approx 248 \pm 27 $, $F_{D} \approx 230 \pm 25 (D^0,D^\pm)$, $F_{B_s} \approx 216 \pm 32 $, $F_{B} \approx 196 \pm 29 (B^0,B^\pm)$, $F_{B_c} \approx 322 \pm 42 $ and $F_{η_c} \approx 292 \pm 25 $ MeV.

Estimating Mass of Sigma-Meson and Study on Application of the Linear Sigma-Model

Whether the $σ-meson$ ($f_0(600)$) exists as a real particle is a long-standing problem in both particle physics and nuclear physics. In this work, we analyze the deuteron binding energy in the linear $σ$ model and by fitting the data, we are able to determine the range of $m_σ$ and also investigate applicability of the linear $σ$ model for the interaction between hadrons in the energy region of MeV's. Our result shows that the best fit to the data of the deuteron binding energy and other experimental data about deuteron advocates a narrow range for the $σ-$meson mass as $520\leq m_σ\leq 580$ MeV and the concrete values depend on the input parameters such as the couplings. Inversely fitting the experimental data, our results set constraints on the couplings. The other relevant phenomenological parameters in the model are simultaneously obtained.

The Instantaneous Formulations for Bethe Salpeter Equation and Radiative Transitions between Two Bound-States

The instantaneous formulations for the relativistic Bethe-Salpeter (BS) and the radiative transitions between the bound-states are achieved if the BS kernel is instantaneous. It is shown that the original Salpeter instantaneous equation set up on the BS equation with an instantaneous kernel should be extended to involve the `small (negative energy) component' of the BS wave functions. As a precise example of the extension for the bound states with one kind of quantum number, the way to reduce the novel extended instantaneous equation is presented. How to guarantee the gauge invariance for the radiative transitions which is formulated in terms of BS wave functions, especially, which is formulated in the instantaneous formulation, is shown. It is also shown that to `guarantee' the gauge invariance for the radiative transitions in instantaneous formulation, the novel instantaneous equation for the bound states plays a very important role. Prospects on the applications and consequences of the obtained instantaneous formulations are outlined.

Non-spectator Contributions To The Lifetime of $Λ_{b}$

In this work, we evaluate the contributions of non-spectator effects to the lifetimes of $Λ_b$ and B-mesons. Based on the well-established models and within a reasonable range of the concerned parameters, the contributions can reduce the lifetime of $Λ_b$ by $7 \sim 8%$ compared to that of B-mesons which are not significantly affected. This might partly explain the measured ratio $τ(Λ_{b})/τ(B^{0})=0.79 $ \cite{Data}, which has been a long-standing discrepancy between theory and experimental data.

Cabibbo-suppressed non-leptonic decays of Lambda_c and final state interaction

With the diquark structure of Lambda_c, we investigate the branching ratios of Lambda_c -> n pi^+ and p pi^0. The results show that without considering the final state interaction (FSI), the branching ration of Lambda_c -> p pi^+ is only of order 10^{-6} whereas taking into account the FSI effects, this ratio could reach 10^{-4} and is at the same order as Lambda_c -> n pi^0. Concrete values depend on phenomenological parameters adopted in the calculations. These branching ratios can be measured in the experiments to come.

Transverse $τ$ polarization in $B_c \to τ\bar ν_τ γ$ decay

The possible transverse polarization of the $τ$-lepton, which is $T$-odd and can be used to measure CP-violation, is estimated precisely in the radiative decay mode $B_c \to τ\bar ν_τγ$ with possible parameters for the multi Higgs doublet model and the R-parity violating supersymmetric model. We find that the up-bound of the transverse polarization with possible parameters in the models is at very different levels i.e. it can be $\leq 15\sim 23%$ for the former but $\leq 0.1 %$ for the latter, and it is accessible experimentally soon.

Applicability of the Friedberg-Lee-Zhao method

Friedberg, Lee and Zhao proposed a method for effectively evaluating the eigenenergies and eigen wavefunctions of quantum systems. In this work, we study several special cases to investigate applicability of the method. Concretely, we calculate the ground-state eigenenergy of the Hellmann potential as well as the Cornell potential, and also evaluate the energies of the systems where linear term is added to the Coulomb and harmonic oscillator potentials as a perturbation. The results obtained in this method have a surprising agreement with the traditional method or the numerical results. Since the results in this method have obvious analyticity compared to that in other methods, and because of the simplicity for calculations this method can be applied to solving the Schrödinger equation and provides us better understanding of the physical essence of the concerned systems. But meanwhile applications of the FLZ method are restricted at present, especially for certain potential forms, but due to its obvious advantages, it should be further developed.

|Delta B|=1 Weak Effective Lagrangian in the Minimal Flavor Violation Supersymmetry

To evaluate the weak decays of b-hadrons, the $ΔB=1$ weak effective Lagrangian is the foundation. Any new physics beyond the standard model (SM) would contribute to the effective Lagrangian through the loop integration at the weak scale and evolution from the weak scale down to the hadronic scale. In this work we present a systematic analysis on the effective Lagrangian which mediates hadronic $|ΔB|=1$ processes in the framework of the minimal flavor violation supersymmetry as well as a numerical evaluation of the Wilson coefficients in the effective theory.

Decays of the Meson $B_c$ to a $P$-Wave Charmonium State $χ_c$ or $h_c$

The semileptonic decays, $B_{c}{\longrightarrow}{χ_c}(h_c)+{\ell}+{ν}_{\ell}$, and the two-body nonleptonic decays, $B_{c}{\longrightarrow}{χ_c}(h_c)+h$, (here $χ_c$ and $h_c$ denote $(c\bar c[^3P_J])$ and $(c\bar c[^1P_1])$ respectively, and $h$ indicates a meson) were computed. All of the form factors appearing in the relevant weak-current matrix elements with $B_c$ as its initial state and a $P$-wave charmonium state as its final state for the decays were precisely formulated in terms of two independent overlapping-integrations of the wave-functions of $B_c$ and the $P$-wave charmonium and with proper kinematics factors being `accompanied'. We found that the decays are quite sizable, so they may be accessible in Run-II at Tevatron and in the foreseen future at LHC, particularly, when BTeV and LHCB, the special detectors for B-physics, are borne in mind. In addition, we also pointed out that the decays $B_c\to h_c+...$ may potentially be used as a fresh window to look for the $h_c$ charmonium state, and the cascade decays, $B_c\to χ_c[^3P_{1,2}]+l+ν_l$ ($B_c\to χ_c[^3P_{1,2}]+h$) with one of the radiative decays $χ_c[^3P_{1,2}] \to J/ψ+γ$ being followed accordingly, may affect the observations of $B_c$ meson through the decays $B_{c}\to {J/ψ}+{l}+ν_{l}$ ($B_c\to J/ψ+h$) substantially.

$V_{cs}$ from Pure Leptonic Decays of $D_s$ with Radiative Corrections

The radiative corrections to the pure leptonic decay $D_s{\longrightarrow} {\ell}{ν}_{\ell}$ up-to one-loop order is presented. We find the virtual photon loop corrections to $D_s{\longrightarrow} τ{ν}_τ$ is negative and the corresponding branching ratio is larger than $3.51\times 10^{-3}$. Considering the possible experimental resolutions, our prediction of the radiative decay $D_s{\longrightarrow} τ{ν}_τγ$ is not so large as others, and the best radiative channel to determine the $V_{cs}$ or $f_{D_s}$ is $D_s{\longrightarrow} μ{ν}_μγ$.

The Pure Leptonic Decays of $D_s$ Meson and Their Radiative Corrections

How to cancel the infrared divergences appearing in the loop calculations, and the radiative decay $D_s{\longrightarrow} {\ell}{ν}_{\ell}γ$ is shown precisely. It is emphasized that the radiative decay may be separated properly and may compare with measurements directly as long as the theoretical `softness' of the photon corresponds to the experimental resolutions.

Semileptonic Decays of $B_c$ Meson to a P-Wave Charmonium State $χ_c$ or $h_c$

The semileptonic decays of meson $B_c$ to a P-wave charmonium state $χ_c(^3P_J)$ or $h_c(^1P_1)$ are computed. The results show that the decays are sizable so they are accessible in Tevatron and in LHC, especially, with the detectors LHCB and BTeV in the foreseeable future, and of them, the one to the $^1P_1$ charmonium state potentially offers us a novel window to see the unconfirmed $h_c$ particle. In addition, it is pointed out that since the two charmonium radiative decays $χ_c(^3P_{1,2}) \to J/ψ+γ$ have sizable branching ratios, the cascade decays of the concerned decays and the charmonium radiative decays may affect the result of the observing the $B_c$ meson through the semileptonic decays $B_{c}\to {J/ψ}+{l}+ν_{l}$ substantially.
